Abstract

PURPOSE: To cut a gate portion with making use of the motion of a pushing pin by forming a mold surface defining one surface of a gate cavity of a first mold into a tapered shape inclined for a direction of the motion of said pushing pin and deforming said gate portion in sliding movement against said tapered surface when said pushing pin is driven.
CONSTITUTION: When a pushing pin 5 is driven to proceed within a moving hole 50, an end portion 121 of a main runner 120 is pressed thereby to project a molding body 130 and a molding gate portion outside a movable mold 2. At this time, since the movable mold 2 has a tapered surface 20 inclined for the direction of movement of the pushing pin 5, a stress acts on the two gate portions 240 in a direction that the two gate portions are brought closer to each other. When the mold is released, since the gate portion is high in temperature and therefore easy to deform, a sub-runner 400 is deformed to narrow the width of a channel portion 401. Accordingly, the stress of the deformation is concentrated on a boundary between the gate portion 240 and the molding body 130, so that the gate portion 240 can be cut at the boundary.
