The present invention relates to a novel polymer and a method for producing the same, and provides a useful material that has excellent mechanical strength and excellent compatibility with living tissue. Polycarbonate urethanes, which have carbonate bonds and urethane bonds in their molecules, are expected to have favorable properties such as excellent compatibility with living organisms and anticoagulability, as well as films and fibers, so they are commonly used in artificial organs and blood vessels. It is seen as a desirable material for medical use. however,
The field of synthesis of polycarbonate urethanes has not been sufficiently studied, and their actual physical properties are not known in detail. The present inventors have continued to study methods for producing polycarbonate urethanes that have practical utility, and found that molecular weight polycarbonate urethanes are produced by reacting diisocyanate compounds containing carbonate bonds in the molecule with diols. This discovery led to the completion of the present invention. A diisocyanate compound containing a carbonate bond in the molecule is produced by, for example, an aromatic isocyanate chloroformate compound produced by the reaction of an aromatic compound having both amino and hydroxy groups with phosgene, which is further reacted with a dihydroxy compound. Therefore, it is easily obtained. When p-aminophenol is used as an example of an aromatic compound having both aminohydroxy groups, and hydroquinone is used as an example of a dihydroxy compound, a diisocyanate compound containing a carbonate bond as shown in formula (1) can be obtained. Therefore, by changing the types of both raw material compounds used, various diisocyanate compounds can be obtained, and by using these and preferred diols, polycarbonate urethanes having physical properties suitable for the purpose of use can be obtained. It became possible to obtain it. That is, the present invention is based on the general formula () (In the formula, Ar 1 and Ar 2 are the same or different.

A tough and transparent film can be formed from the polycarbonate urethane solution of the present invention. In particular, a film with better performance can be obtained from an N,N-dimethylacetamide solution. In addition, in the polycarbonate urethanes of the present invention, the polymer molecules are highly oriented and easily crystallized, so those with high reduced viscosity may become fibrous.
A product with practical strength can be obtained. Furthermore, because of the above-mentioned properties, the polycarbonate urethanes of the present invention behave as liquid crystals, and can be used in many practical applications utilizing this property. The polycarbonate urethane of the present invention has performance as an antithrombotic material with excellent compatibility with living organisms, and can be used for applications such as artificial organs and blood vessels. Furthermore, the method of the present invention can be carried out by reacting a diisocyanate compound containing a carbonate bond represented by the general formula () with a diol represented by the general formula ().
This is a method for producing polycarbonate urethanes represented by In the diisocyanate compound containing a carbonate bond represented by the general formula () used in the method of the present invention, Ar 1 , Ar 2 of the specific compound
Examples include all those already mentioned for polycarbonate urethanes. A diisocyanate compound having a carbonate bond represented by the general formula () is typically, for example, a diisocyanate compound having a carbonate bond represented by the general formula () (In the formula, Ar 1 has the same meaning as in the general formula (), and X represents a halogen.) Aromatic isocyanate haloformate represented by the general formula () HO-Ar 2 -OH () , Ar 2 can be obtained by reaction with an aromatic dihydroxy compound represented by the general formula (2). Usually, amines or basic compounds are used as dehydrohalogenating agents, and diisocyanate compounds can be obtained in good yields.
The diisocyanate compound containing a carbonate bond used in the method of the present invention can of course be produced using reaction materials or reaction methods other than those described above, and there are no particular restrictions thereon. The diisocyanate compound containing a carbonate bond obtained as exemplified above has a relatively high purity and can be used directly in the method of the present invention with good results. However, if a polymer with a very high degree of polymerization is targeted, further recrystallization purification is required. Examples of solvents for recrystallization include cyclic ethers such as dioxane and tetrahydrofuran, chlorine compounds such as chloroform and dichloroethane, esters such as methyl acetate and ethyl acetate, and hydrocarbons such as n-heptane and n-hexane. They may be used alone or as a mixture of two or more. The diisocyanate compound containing a carbonate bond purified in this way is relatively stable and can be stored at room temperature in a dry state, and there are no particular difficulties in handling it. In the method of the present invention, diols represented by the above general formula () are used. Specific examples of diols include, but are not limited to, diols containing divalent groups as already listed for R in general formula (). Further, the diols used in the method of the present invention can be used alone or as a mixture of two or more. The amount of diols used in the method of the present invention is generally in the range of 0.2 to 5 mol, preferably 0.5 to 2 mol, per 1 mol of the diisocyanate compound. When the amount of diols used is outside the above range, it is difficult to obtain a polymer with a high molecular weight. In addition, in order to obtain particularly high molecular weight polymers, good results can be obtained by using approximately 1 mol of diol per 1 mol of diisocyanate compound. In the method of the present invention, polymerization is carried out using both of the above components, but there are no particular restrictions on the actual polymerization method, and an appropriate method can be used depending on various conditions. Usually, a solution polymerization method is used, and a high molecular weight polymer can be easily obtained without any significant side reactions. Although there are no particular restrictions on the solvent used in the solution polymerization method, it is preferable to use a solvent that has sufficient solubility for the raw material components and the produced polymer. Examples of specific organic solvents include anisole, phenethole,
iso-propoxybenzene, n-butoxybenzene, diphenyl ether, o, m or p-dimethoxybenzene, o, m or p-diethoxybenzene, p-diphenoxybenzene, 1,1,2,2
-Latrachloroethane, 1,1,1,2-latrachloroethane, 1,2-dichloroethane, o-dichlorobenzene, tetrahydrofuran, dioxane, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, cyclohexanone, xylenes, toluene, dimethyl sulfoxide, N,N -dimethylformamide, N,N
-dimethylacetamide, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, hexamethylphosfluorotriamide, etc., but are not limited to these examples. These solvents may be used alone or as a mixture of two or more. Particularly preferred solvents for the method of the invention are aromatic solvents such as anisole, phenethole, diphenyl ether, dimethoxybenzenes (o-, m- or p-), diethoxybenzenes (o-, m- or p-), etc. It is an ether compound. There is no particular restriction on the amount of the solvent used in the method of the present invention, but it is in the range of 0.2 to 1000 times, preferably 0.5 to 500 times, based on the weight of the diisocyanate compound used. If the amount of the solvent used is less than the above range, the reaction will not proceed quickly and it will be difficult to obtain a high molecular weight product. Also, if the amount of solvent used exceeds the above range,
It becomes difficult to obtain products with high molecular weight in a relatively short time. In order to obtain the desired polycarbonate urethane by the method of the present invention, it is only necessary to bring the diisocyanate compound and the diol into sufficient contact, preferably in a solution state. Special catalysts, promoters, auxiliaries, etc. are usually not required for the reaction, but when it is necessary to obtain a high molecular weight polymer in a short time or when the reaction is carried out at a very low temperature, reactions with very poor reactivity may be required. It may be used when a combination of raw materials is used. As a catalyst, aliphatic tertiary amines,
Quaternary ammonium salt, quaternary phosphonium salt,
A wide range of compounds can be included, including phosphines, organometallic complexes, metals, and inorganic salts. Even when the above-mentioned catalyst is used, the amount used is 10% or less, preferably 5% or less of the weight of the diisocyanate compound as the raw material. In particular, if the above-mentioned catalyst remains in the produced polymer, it not only destabilizes the bonding of the polymer but also adversely affects other physical properties. Preferred are those which can be sufficiently removed by ordinary washing operations even if they remain, such as triethylamine, N-methylmorpholine, triethylenediamine, dibutyltin dilaurate, and the like. In the method of the present invention, the temperature at which the diisocyanate compound and diol are reacted varies depending on the type of reactants, the type of solvent, and other polymerization conditions, but is generally in the range of -50 to 300°C. The temperature is preferably -30 to 200°C. Usually, it is possible to obtain a polymer with a sufficiently high molecular weight even when the reaction is carried out at around room temperature. The reaction time varies depending on the type of reactants, reaction temperature, type of solvent, stirring speed, and other polymerization conditions, but is generally in the range of 1 minute to 100 hours, preferably 5 minutes to 50 hours. Implemented within a range. The polymer obtained by the method of the present invention is separated by conventional methods and further purified if necessary. Generally, a polymer is obtained as a viscous solution dissolved in a solvent, so it is poured into a poor solvent to precipitate it, separated, further washed with an appropriate solvent, and dried to produce the desired polycarbonate urethane. is obtained. Depending on the reaction solvent used, the polymer may precipitate as an insoluble substance during the reaction, or the polymer may precipitate when the reaction solution is left or cooled. In the polymerization according to the method of the present invention, there are almost no by-products, and the resulting polymer has sufficiently high purity that it can be used for ordinary purposes only by the above-mentioned separation and purification. However, if a higher purity polymer is required, it may be necessary to repeat washing with an appropriate solvent, or redissolve it in a solvent at room temperature or in a heated state, and then repeat washing in solution state or filtration. , a method is used in which a suitable poor solvent is added or a polymer solution is added into a poor solvent to reprecipitate the polymer. The polycarbonate urethane obtained by the method of the present invention has a relatively high molecular weight, so it is easy to form a film and has high mechanical strength, so it is a highly practical polymer that can be used in various applications. In particular, it has excellent compatibility with living organisms. The present invention will be explained below using reference examples and examples. Reference example 1 p-isocyanate phenyl chloroformate
4.00g (0.02mol) and 1.10g of hydroquinone
(0.01 mol) was dissolved in 60 ml of tetrahydrofuran, and 2.02 g (0.02 mol) of triethylamine was dissolved in tetrahydrofuran while stirring on an ice bath.
Add the solution dissolved in 30 ml dropwise over about 1 hour.
The reaction was further stirred on an ice bath for 1 hour and at room temperature for 3 hours to complete the reaction. The precipitate is a mixture of the target product and triethylamine hydrochloride, so separate it, add 40 ml of chloroform, stir for 30 minutes, and remove the dissolved triethylamine hydrochloride.
After further washing with 10 ml of chloroform three times, recrystallization from dioxane yields a product with a melting point of 240-242°C. 3.02g (yield 70%) of diisocyanate (A) was obtained. The theoretical value (%) of this product as C 22 H 12 N 2 O 8 was C61.12H2.80N6.48 Elemental analysis value (%) C61.04H2.53N6.42. Reference example 2 p-isocyanate phenyl chloroformate

mol) in 60 ml of tetrahydrofuran,
Add triethylamine to this while stirring on an ice bath.
A solution of 2.02 g (0.02 mol) dissolved in 30 ml of tetrahydrofuran is added dropwise over about 1 hour. The mixture was further reacted with stirring on ice for 1 hour and at room temperature for 3 hours. After the reaction is complete, tetrahydrofuran is completely distilled off from the reaction solution using an evaporator, 40 ml of chloroform is added to the residue, stirred for 30 minutes, and dissolved triethylamine hydrochloride is separately removed. Further wash three times with 10 ml of chloroform. Ethyl acetate-
When recrystallized from hexane, 2.21 g of diisocyanate (B) with the following structure is obtained with a melting point of 191.5-193℃. (yield 51%). This material had a theoretical value (%) of C61.12H2.80N6.48 as C 22 H 12 N 2 O 8 and an elemental analysis value (%) of C61.03H2.71N6.30. Examples 1 to 8 1 mmol of the diisocyanate component shown in Table 1 was added to a solution of 1 mmol of the diol component shown in Table 1 dissolved in 20 ml of anhydrous anisole, and the solution was heated on an oil bath while stirring for 5 minutes. Reflux for an hour. After cooling, the polymer precipitated as an insoluble substance, so this was separated, washed with methanol, and dried at 60°C.
The yield, reduced viscosity of the polymer in dimethylacetamide, and melting point of the polymer are shown in Table 1.
