Abstract

PURPOSE: To bypass reverse bias voltage for preventing damage of a solar battery by connecting a bias diode while neighboring either the surface or the side of cells in parallel therewith in the reverse direction at least by means of one connector.
CONSTITUTION: A P-electrode 4 is provided almost overall the rear of a P-type silicon substrate 2, an N-type diffusion layer 1 is formed on the surface while providing a cover glass 6 through an adhesive 7. Grid electrodes 5, 5 are arranged on the most part of the surface at proper intervals to collect currents for being connected to a contact electrode 3 on the terminal edge part. For a bypass diode D, an N-type diffusion layer 8 is formed on one side face of a P-type silicon substrate 9, and a P-electrode 11 and an N-electrode are formed on the outsides. The length of a cover glass 6 is made shorter than the length of the P-type silicon substrate 2, while the P-electrode 11 is connected to the surface of the contact electrode 3. The N-electrode 10 and the P-electrode 4 are connected by a connector 13, while the N-electrode 10 and the P-electrode 11 are provided with proper light-shielding means. Further, the contact electrodes 3 is provided with interconnectors 12, 12 for connecting to other solar battery cells.
