Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform stable measurement by moving a temperature sensor at right angles to the moving direction of the moving body while using a driving means, and bringing it into contact with the surface of the moving body, and measuring the surface temperature of the body.
CONSTITUTION: A thermocouple 14 is fixed atop of a protector 13 by spot welding, etc. Then a surface temperature measuring instrument is installed nearby a cable 200 which runs as shown by an arrow A and air is sent to an air cylinder 5 provided on a base 2 to operate the cylinder 5. Then, a piston rod 6 is put in operation and a slide member 5 is moved as shown by an arrow B, so that a thermocouple 14 fitted to a fixed member 10 is brought into contact with the cable 200. In this state, the thermocouple 14 is brought into contact with the cable 200 for a specific time to detect the surface temperature of the cable 200. The cylinder 5 separates the thermocouple 14 from the cable 200 after the temperature detection. Thus, the wear of the thermocouple is suppressed and the stable measurement is carried out.
