ットベッド式と、ペンをX方向またはY方向の一方向に
のみ移動させ、これと直角方向には用紙を移動させるペ
ーパムービング式がある。本発明はペーパムービング式
のX−Yプロッタの用紙の位置決め方式に関する。X−
Yプロッタは用紙の所定の位置に所定の作図を行なうも
のであるから、ペンと用紙の位置関係は正確に定められ
る必要がある。(−般にプロッタに対する作図の指令お
よびデータは上位の計算機から与えられる)作図前に用
紙をX−Yプロッタに取付けた時に、ペンに対する用紙
の位置を定める為に一般に2種類の方法のいずれかが用
いられている。1つは紙位置検出による方法で、この方
法では用紙を移動させ、光センサを用いて用紙の端部を
検出し、この座標で位置の補正を行なう。他は機構的ス
トッパによる方法で、用紙を取付ける時にプロッタ上に
設けたストッパに用紙の端部を押し当て、ペンに対する
位置を定める。機構的ストッパによる方式は紙位置検出
による方式と比較すると、紙位置検出のセンサや位置の
補正演算機能が不要であるためコストが安く。
