Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent any leakage of fuel during engine stoppage as well as to make improvement in restartability by operating a decompression device, which reduces or eliminate fuel pressure to be impressed on a fuel injector at time of stoppage of an internal combustion engine, in linkage with a power switch.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel supply system is provided with a fuel injector 5, a fuel tank 6, a fuel pump 7, a pressure regulator 9, a decompression device 14, etc. The decompression device 14 operates in linkage with a power switch 11, and it is constituted so as to reduce or eliminate fuel pressure when the power switch 11 is off. The power switch 11 is turned to ON or OFF in linkage with an ignition switch. Thus, any leakage of fuel is prevented from occurring during engine stoppage, and improvement in restartability is well promoted.
