Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a heat exchanging operation to be carried out between a normal temperature refrigerant gas and a low temperature refrigerant gas supplied to or discharged from a pulse tube without requiring any metallic regenerator by a method wherein a configuration of the tube in a pulse tube type freezer is varied.
CONSTITUTION: During an operation of a freezer, if some tubes 7a and 7b of a plurality of tubes 7a and 7b communicate with a discharging side of a high pressure gas generating means 1 as an opening or closing means 12 is operated, the remaining tubes 7b and 7a communicate with a suction side of a high pressure gas generating means 1. Due to this fact, a feeding and a discharging of the refrigerant gas are inverse phased at some tubes 7a and the remaining tubes 7b and 7a, respectively. When the feeding or discharging of the refrigerant gas is inverted, the refrigerant gas discharged from some tubes 7a and 7 is heat exchanged with low temperature refrigerant gas fed into the remaining tubes 7b and 7a at heat exchangers 11a and 11b, heated there, resulting in producing refrigerant gas of normal temperature and the refrigerant is returned back to a suction side of the high pressure gas generating means 1. It is possible to eliminate the regenerator through such a heat exchanging operation as above.
