Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent crosstalk in the case of extracting a signal by providing a switch intermitting an output signal line and closing the switch only for a time when a signal is outputted from a photodetector to the outside of a sensor chip. CONSTITUTION:Onto a sensor chip 1-1, n-set of photodetectors (2-1-1)-(2-1-n) arranged in a line in a direction (x) are formed. A selector circuit 3-1 selecting the outputs of the photodetectors (2-1-1)-(2-1-n) sequentially is formed on the chip 1-1. Moreover, an amplifier 4-1 amplifying the output of the circuit 3-1, and an analog switch 6-1 intermitting the output signal line 5-1 of the amplifier 4-1 and a control circuit 7-1 controlling the switching operation of the said switch 6-1 are formed to the chip 1-1. The circuit 7-1 sends a control signal based on a signal from the circuit 3-1. Furthermore, the circuit 3-1 is driven by an external driving circuit through an input line 8-1.

Since the sensor chip of a linear image sensor is made from a silicon wafer, the sensor length is limited by the wafer size, and it is difficult to make a linear image sensor chip with the same length as the width of the original to be read. For this reason, the image carried by the document is read by reducing and forming an image of the document to be read using an imaging optical system. However, devices that utilize such a reduction imaging optical system require space for the optical system, making it difficult to downsize and also difficult to achieve sufficient resolution.

However, in conventional multi-chip image sensors such as those described above, the output signal of each sensor chip is independently taken out to an external signal processing circuit, so there are many signal lines and the wiring becomes complicated. was there. In order to solve this kind of problem, it would be possible to take out the signal to the external signal processing circuit using a common signal line, but
As mentioned above, since all sensor chips from the light receiving element to the sensor chip, including those that do not output signals to the outside, are connected to the output line, crosstalk is likely to occur and the S/N of the read signal is likely to decrease. Become.
