Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a wet non-woven fabric having a large strength by mixing natural pulp with are reinforcing material comprising specific polyester copolymer short fibers and a binder comprising a specified polyester and subsequently forming the mixture into the non-woven fabric.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A paper raw material (natural pulp) comprising natural cellulose fibers is mixed with (B) short fibers prepared from a polyethylene terephthalate copolymer copolymerized with 5-metal sulfoisophthalic acid in an amount of 0.3-5.0mol% based on all acid components thereof and (C) a binder comprising a polyester prepared from ≥75mol% of terephthalic acid and ≥10mol% of 5-sulfoisophthalic acid on the basis of all the acid components thereof and from ≥50mol% of pentamethylene glycol on the basis of all the glycol components and having an intrinsic viscosity [η] of ≥0.5 in an A/B ratio of 15/85-45/55 (weight ratio), followed by forming the mixture into a non- woven fabric.
