Abstract

PURPOSE: To surely detect feed pitches by moving a detecting pin so as to attach and to detach from the pilot holes of a hoop material and detecting whether the pin intrudes into the pilot holes in a contactless state or not.
CONSTITUTION: The hoop material 10 is intermittently fed by each pitch of the pilot holes 11 and is subjected to progressive pressing by a progressive die (lower die) 28. The detecting pin 22 which can enter the holes 11 in the contactless state is, thereupon, provided opposite to the normal feed position of the pilot holes 11. The pin 22 is driven by an air cylinder 24. Whether the pin 22 comes into contact with the hoop material 10 or not is detected by a detecting means (circuit) 52 when the pin 22 advances to the pilot hole 11 side. Whether the hoop material is exactly fed at the prescribed pitch or not in the progressive pressing is detected in this way.
