Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the warm-up time before an oscillator becomes available for operation and to obtain an ink-jet head convenient for use by a method whereby a heat generating body is brought into touch with a nozzle forming plate, particularly a member in the vicinity of said oscillator and a hot melt ink in the vicinity of said oscillator is first melted through thermal conduction.
CONSTITUTION: When a heat generating body 110 generates heat, a support plate 109 for the heat generating body is heated, thereby melting first a hot melt ink 105A in the vicinity of an oscillator 106. Therefore, printing becomes instantaneously possible. A hot melt ink 105B of an ink passage 111 and an ink tank 108 are sequentially melted subsequent to the ink in the vicinity of the oscillator 106. As a result, the whole of an ink-jet head 101 is kept at a predetermined constant temperature. The oscillator 106 is effectively and stably oscillated in directions shown by arrows C, D and the liquid phase hot melt ink 105A sucked by the capillary phenomenon from the ink passage 111 is pressurized and jetted out from a nozzle of a nozzle forming plate 103. Thus, characters and lines, etc., are formed on a recording paper 104.
