Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent unnecessary function of a relay reliably by arranging a normally closed contact to be short-circuited for several cycles at the secondary of a CT coupled with a circuit connecting between a bus and a motor and detecting various faults.
CONSTITUTION: A power source line 1 is connected with a motor 3 through a circuit breaker 2, the primary of a CT 6 and a motor line 4. Secondary of the CT 6 is connected through an unnecessary function preventing switch 10 and a line 7 with a motor protective relay 5. The unnecessary function preventing switch 10 has normally closed contacts which close for several cycles immediately after throw-in of the power source and open thereafter. By such arrangement, saturation of the CT 6 is suppressed and unnecessary function of shortcircuit, ground fault or overcurrent unbalance element due starting surge current can be prevented.
