Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the engine faculty by arranging a porous metal plate on the inner surface of a buffer tank which communicates to the back surface space of a piston and a crank chamber.
CONSTITUTION: The back surface spaces 16 and 17 of pistons 6 and 7 are allowed to communicate to a buffer tank 21 through pipes 18 and 19. Further, a crank chamber 8 is allowed to communicate to the buffer tank 21 through a pipe 20. A porous metal plate 22 is arranged on the inside surface of the buffer tank 21. The metal plate 22 absorbs the lubricating oil in the buffer tank 21 by the capillary tube phenomenon. Therefore, the intrusion of the lubricating oil into the back surface space of a piston is prevented, and the engine faculty can be improved.
