PURPOSE:To obtain the above remover capable of remedying the defatted and demaged nail or surrounding skin and enabling the removal of enamel while keeping the nail and skin in healthy state, by converting sodium montmorillonite into an organic substance and mixing with a hydrophilic organic solvent free from solvent smell to obtain a paste. CONSTITUTION:The objective enamel remover can be produced by (1) converting sodium montmorillonite into an organic substance with a benzyl-type cationic subfactant (e.g., benzalkonium chloride), (2) mixing the substance with a hydrophilic organic solvent having a boiling point of >=100 deg.C and free from solvent smell as far as possible (e.g., propylene carbonate, ethyl cellosolve, gamma-butyrolactone or tetramethylurea) to effect the swelling of the montmorillonite into a paste, (3) adding a hydrophobic organic solvent which is a good solvent of nitrocellulose and has a boiling point of >=100 deg.C (e.g., methoxybutyl acetate or glycol acetate) to synergistically increase the power to dissolve nitrocellulose film and (4) further mixing animal fats and oils, vegetable fats and oils, vitamin A, E, etc.
