Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a heat-sensitive stencil paper having excellent durability in printing and high sensitivity, by providing a coated layer comprising a thermo plastic polymer as a main constituent as a heat sensitive stencil layer on one side of a porous sheet material having a specified water-resistant coat.
CONSTITUTION: A porous sheet material may be a paper or non-woven fabric made from natural fibers (e.g., Manila hemp or paper mulberry), synthetic fibers (e.g., nylon) or a blend thereof, or a screen gauze formed of polyester fibers or silk. A water-resistant coat is provided on the surfaces of blank materials constituting the porous material so that the coat does not fill up the voids between the blank materials. The coat comprises a water-repellent resin or a resin having a low water absorptivity. The water-repellent resin may be a silicon-containing resin, a polymethylpentene resin, a fluororesin or the like, whereas the low-water-absorptivity resin may be a polyvinyl chloride resin, a phenolic resin or the like. A coated layer comprising a thermoplastic polymer as a main constituent is provided on one side of the porous sheet material, as a heat-sensitive stencil layer. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a higher sensitivity for printing and excellent durability in high-speed printing.
