Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the number of times of the retransmission of a burst, and to improve a throughput by not retransmitting the burst again as far as an error is not generated in the same blocks of a data burst having arrived at first and the retransmitted data burst. CONSTITUTION:The data part of the burst is divided into X-pieces of small blocks, and a redandunt bit for error detection is added to each block, and the error is detected for every block, and if the error is detected, the presence of the error is compared for every block between the former data part and the output of the data part of the retransmitted burst after the detection of the error, and the block of no error is selected, and is connected with another, and the data is regenerated. Thus, as far as the error does not exist in the same block in the data, the retransmission of the second time comes unnecessary, and even in a state that the quality of a line is bad and many errors exist, the number of times of the retransmission to result in the fall of the throughput can be reduced, and the line of good quality can be offered.

On the receiving side, the reception section 7 removes the prefix and suffix words of the received burst (FIG. 2-f), and the decoding section 8 performs error detection. If an error is detected, the second retransmission control section 9 sends the first
A retransmission request signal is sent to the retransmission control unit 5, and the transmitting side retransmits the same data stored in 1.1 using the method described above. This operation is repeated a number of times until there are no errors in the received data. On the other hand, if no error is detected, a confirmation signal is sent from 9 to 5, the data stored in l is cleared, and the data stored in 8 is cleared.
The data from which redundant bits for error detection have been removed (FIG. 2-g) are stored in the second buffer section 10 and output as error-free data (FIG. 2-h).

(Means for solving the problem) The present invention subdivides the data part of a burst into X blocks, adds redundant bits for error detection to each block, and performs error detection for each block. When an error is detected, the presence or absence of an error is compared for each block with the error-detected output of the data part of the retransmitted burst, and blocks with no errors are selected and connected to reproduce the data. is the main feature. In conventional technology, retransmission is repeated as long as there is an error in the data, so the probability of occurrence of an error directly affects throughput, but in the present invention, retransmission is repeated as long as there is no error in the same block in the data. This method differs from the conventional technology in that there is no need to retransmit the data, and the throughput is improved accordingly.

In the system of FIG. 3, error correction is performed as follows. The input original data (FIG. 4-1) temporarily stores a signal of the same bit string as the original data in the first buffer section 11, and outputs the original data to the encoding section 12 (
In step 12 of FIG. 4-j), the data is divided into blocks of X bits each, and redundant bits for error detection are added to each block (FIG. 4-k). Furthermore, the outputs of 12 are sent to the burst configuration unit 14 from the front/postfix start generation unit 13.
A burst is constructed by adding prefixes and suffixes necessary for control and synchronization generated in (Figure 4-1), and the transmitter 16
The signal is then sent to the receiving side (Fig. 4-m). On the receiving side, the reception section 17 removes the prefix and suffix words of the received burst (FIG. 4-n), and the decoding section 18 detects errors in block units. If an error is detected in any block, the second retransmission control unit 19 to the first retransmission control unit 15
A retransmission request signal is sent to the transmitting side, and the transmitting side transmits the same data as the original data stored in step 11 again by the method described above. Furthermore, the data with error 9 is stored in the second buffer section 20 along with error information in block units (Figure 4-0), and the error information is compared with the retransmitted data in block units. The block selection unit 21 selects a block without errors, performs error correction, and outputs the block (FIG. 4-p).

For example, as shown in Figure 5 [1], if there is an error in the second block of the original data and an error in the fourth block of the retransmitted data, in the conventional technology, there is an error in the retransmitted data, so the data is retransmitted. However, according to the method of the present invention, since the block selection unit selects a block without an error, the update data is composed of blocks 1.2' and 3.4, and is free of errors. Since a block is selected, error correction is completed with one retransmission. Also, Fig. 5 [
As in ii), if there is an error in the second and fourth blocks of the original data, and if there is an error in the second block of the retransmitted data, the updated data will consist of 1, 2, 3.4'. However, since there is still an error in the second block, it is retransmitted again. Here, as long as there is no error in the second block of the retransmitted data, the updated data is composed of 1.2' and 3.4' blocks, and the error correction is completed.

As explained above, in the method of the present invention, if there is an error in the data, unless an error occurs in the same block of the initially sent data burst and the retransmitted data burst, retransmission is performed again. Since this is not performed, there is an advantage that the number of burst retransmissions is reduced and throughput can be improved.
