Abstract
PURPOSE:To sharply improve the defective closed circuit voltage by making the inner diameter of the side section of a seal plate in contact with the active material smaller than the inner diameter of the portion not in contact with it when the separator side inside the seal plate is placed below and the negative electrode active material is accumulated. CONSTITUTION:A button cell is constituted by inserting an air diffusion paper 8, a water-repellent film 7, an air electrode 6 and a separator 5 in this order into a positive electrode case 3, injecting amalgamated zinc 1 and an electrolyte in a seal plate 2 coupled with a gasket 4 to connect them to the case 3, and curling and sealing it. The inner diameter phi1 of the seal plate 2 at the position where the active material exists is made smaller than the inner diameter phi2 at the position where it does not exist when the separator 5 is placed below and the negative electrode material is accumulated. The solidified amalgamated zinc in the seal plate is hardly moved inside the seal plate 2 according to this constitution, it can thoroughly keep contact with the separator 5, and the occurrence of the defective closed circuit voltage of the cell is prevented.
