2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, vending machines and the like have been developed that use induction heating to heat a metal can to heat drinking water or the like inside the can. However, in such a vending machine, etc., the metal cans to be heated have various can diameters, so the device must be compatible with these. Therefore, the inventor has proposed using a semi-circular heating coil instead of a cylindrical one, on which the side surface of the metal can is placed for heating. Such a heating method has an excellent feature in that it can be heated even if the diameter of the metal can is not constant.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, in the heating method described above, when the adhesive part of the metal can comes to the heating surface, since this part is insulated by the adhesive, there is a possibility that the bottom of the can or the inner surface of the can and the can Abnormal heating occurs concentrated in the area where it overlaps with the side surface, resulting in burning. Therefore, it is desirable to detect the adhesive part of the metal can and prevent it from coming into contact with the heating surface. However, until now there has been no detection device that meets this requirement.

FIG. 2 is a graph showing the characteristics of the frequency f of the AC power supply 130 and the output voltage vP of the peak hold circuit 8 in this embodiment. In FIG. 2, the solid line indicates the relationship between the frequency f and the output voltage Vp at the bonded portion 1a, and the broken line indicates the relationship between the frequency f and the output voltage Vp at the bonded portion 1a.
It shows the relationship between the frequency f and the output voltage vP in a portion other than a. In the adhesive part 1a and the part other than the adhesive part 1a,

For example, if the detection of the adhesive part 1a is performed while rotating the metal can 1 by another means, the adhesive part 1a can be easily detected.
At this detection position, the adhesive portion 1a may be placed away from the heating surface.

Further, the output voltage of the AC power supply 13 does not need to be limited to a sine wave; for example, a square wave or a triangular wave may be used, and a frequency higher than the peak of vP may be used. In short, the bonded portion 1a and the bonded portion 1a It is sufficient if there is a difference in output in other areas.
