Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable minimization of a temperature gradient of ink in a flow path by limiting the thickness of an ink flow path substrate within a specific range and junctioning a plate-like heating member consisting of a heat generating element and a material of specific heat conductivity to the ink flow path substrate. CONSTITUTION:An ink flow path substrate with a thickness of at most 1cm extending from an ink preparation chamber of a Keiser-type on-demand system ink jet head using hot melt ink as a recording liquid to a nozzle, a plate-like heating member of a material with a heat conductivity of at least 10W/m.K which is junctioned to at least one side of the substrate, and a heat generating element adjoining to the heat generating member are components of the subject item. A semiconductor 1 of barium titanate of the heat generating element and an aluminum plate 2 meet ideally with the shape of a flow path along the ink flow path substrate. Therefore, heat is uniformly conducted to ink in the ink flow path and consequently, the temperature gradient of ink can be decreased. The preferable material of the plate-like heating member 2 should be a superior heat conductive material with a heat conductivity of at least 10W/m.K such as copper, nickel and chromium in addition to aluminum.
