像信号を１フイールド毎に極性を切換えて供給す
る極性切換回路と、前記垂直方向ドライバ、水平
方向ドライバ、及び極性切換回路に対してクロツ
ク信号を供給し、表示制御を行う表示コントロー
ラとを具備し、表示形態の異なる２以上の画像を
前記液晶表示パネルに表示可能とする液晶画像表
示装置において、 第１の表示形態の画像の映像信号とその映像期
間に前記液晶表示パネルの水平方向の画素数に対
応した所定クロツク数の第１の表示用タイミング
信号を発生する第１の信号発生手段と、 第２の表示形態の画像の映像信号とその映像期
間に前記液晶表示パネルの水平方向の画素数に対
応した所定クロツク数の第２の表示用タイミング
信号を発生する第２の信号発生手段と、 第１の表示形態の画像を表示する場合と第２の
表示形態の画像を表示する場合とで、前記第１の
信号発生手段からの映像信号及びそのタイミング
信号と、前記第２の信号発生手段からの映像信号
及びそのタイミング信号とを切換えて、前記極性
切換回路及び前記表示コントローラに供給するタ
イミング切換回路とを具備したことを特徴とする
