Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (*C is 11C, 13C or 14C; OR1WOR4 are protected hydroxyl group).
EXAMPLE: 3,4:5,6-Di-O-isopropylidene-D-glucononitrile.
USE: An intermediate for producing isotope-labeled 2-deoxyglucose capable of providing the isotope-labeled 2-deoxyglucose in high yield and for a short time by simple operation.
PREPARATION: An arabinose derivative expressed by formula II is dissolved in a solvent, such as THF, and an aqueous solution of an isotope-labeled hydrogen cyanide or alkaline metal cyanide expressed by the formula Y-*CN (Y is H or alkaline metal) is added thereto. Thereby reaction is carried out at 0W50°C for 1minW1hr while stirring the reaction solution.
