Abstract

PURPOSE:To always attain FM broadcast with excellent sensitivity by applying automatically automatic searching when a broadcast station with electric field intensity satisfying a reference does not exist in an alternative frequency list. CONSTITUTION:The title receiver is provided with a means 10 recording an alternative frequency list and a program identification code among an RDS data sent while being multiplexed on an FM radio signal, a means 7 deciding the electric field intensity of a radio wave during reception, a means 11 comparing a program identification code stored during reception and the program identification code stored in a memory, and a means 15 selecting other RDS broadcast when a proper broadcast station is not selected from the alternative frequency list. When a reception electric field intensity is less than the preset reference, the reception frequency is changed automatically according to an AF list 13 stored previously, but when the electric field intensity of all broadcast stations stored in the AF list 13 is less then the reference value, other RDS broadcast is received automatically. Thus, the FM broadcast with excellent sensitivity is received.

(b) Conventional technology In European radio broadcasting, many broadcasting stations often form a network and broadcast the same programs. Kazute,
From these many broadcasting stations, you can select and receive a station with good reception, or if the field strength of the broadcasting station you are receiving decreases, you can search for other stations with stronger reception. It was difficult to receive. However, if data sent through RDS broadcasting is used, these tasks can be easily performed automatically. That is, it becomes possible to create a receiving system that has an automatic tracking function that automatically selects a station with strong radio waves when the received electric field strength falls below a certain level.

The data transmitted by RDS includes various messages such as a program identification code (PI), an alternative station frequency code (Ap), and a broadcasting station name code (PS). The alternative frequency list (hereinafter referred to as AF list) sends a frequency list of up to 25 broadcast stations that are transmitting the same program. By using these PI signals and AF multiplied signals, the above-mentioned automatic tracking function becomes possible. For example, when a certain broadcast is received, the AF list and PI that are sent are stored in the memory. the current,
When the electric field strength of the broadcasting station you are receiving falls below the preset standard, read out the previously memorized AF number, switch to another broadcasting station on the frequency list, check the electric field strength, and check the electric field. Select a broadcasting station whose intensity exceeds the above criteria. Alternatively, you can first receive all the broadcast stations on the AF list, check the field strength, and select the station with the strongest field strength. To check whether the program received according to the AF list is correct, check the field strength of the newly received program. Compare and confirm the PI with the PI loaded earlier.

(c) Problem to be solved by the invention However, when the received electric field strength falls below a preset standard, the automatic tracking function works and automatically changes the receiving frequency according to the previously stored AF list. If the electric field strengths of all stored broadcast stations are below the above-mentioned standard, the conventional automatic tracking function cannot receive FM broadcasts with good sensitivity.

(E) Effect According to the present invention, when the received electric field strength falls below a preset standard, the receiving frequency is automatically changed according to the previously stored AF list, but all broadcasts stored in the above AF list If the electric field strength of the station is below the above standard, other RDS broadcasts are automatically received.

Next, the operation of the embodiment will be explained. When RDS broadcasting is received, the RDS data is decoded. decoded RD
Of the S data, the AF list and PI are stored in the AF memory 13 and the PI memory 10, respectively. When the field strength determination circuit 8 detects that the field strength of the broadcasting station currently being received is insufficient, the AF search circuit 14 operates to change the reception frequency according to the AF list stored in the AF memory 13, and Check the electric field strength of the broadcast station received. If there is a broadcasting station with an electric field strength above the standard, the AF search circuit 14 is stopped and the station enters the receiving state. If there is no broadcasting station with a field strength that meets the criteria in the AF list, the auto search circuit 15 is activated. When a new RDS broadcast is received during the auto search operation, the PI determination operation begins. The recently received PI is compared with the PI stored in the PI memory 10, and a PI determination circuit 11 determines whether they match or do not match. If they match, the auto search operation will start again; if they do not match, the auto search operation will stop. A flowchart of this example of operation is shown in FIG.
