Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase output torque, by limiting the ratio of the insulator width of a stator to a space length between a stator electrode and the common electrode of a rotor, to be 2 or more.
CONSTITUTION: An electrostatic type motor is composed of a stator 3 consisting of an electrical conductor having a circular insulator 1 and a radial section and consisting of three electrodes, and a stator electrode 2 having an insulator and forming a laminated layer electrode, a rotor 7 consisting of a circular insulator 4, a shaft 5, and a common electrode 6, the contact spring 8 of the electrical conductor fitted firmly on the shaft 5, a frame 9, and a bearing 10. Then, from a simulation value and an actual value, a relation between the insulator width W of the stator 3, and a space length D between the stator electrode 2 and the common electrode 6 of the rotor 7 is set in the dimension of the condition of W/D>2. Then, electric charge is induced to the rotor electrode 6, and an attracting force from the stator 3 is transmitted to the rotor 7, and the rotation of the rotor 7 is obtained.
