Description

The present invention relates to a bead cushion sofa filled with beads, which are granular foam plastic.

Patent Document 1 discloses a bead cushion sofa that includes beads filled inside a sofa bag formed by fastening the edges of a first bag fabric and a second bag fabric together, and in which the second bag fabric is wrapped inside the first bag fabric to form a shrinkable elastic bag. In the case of this bead cushion sofa, the shrinkable elastic bag made of the second bag fabric elastically deforms in response to changes in the user's body posture, making it easy to obtain a shape that matches the user's body posture.

However, when considering use as a sofa, a bead cushion sofa must have a seat and a backrest. However, with the conventional bead cushion sofas described above, when the user changes their body position, the shape of the seat and backrest changes significantly, making it difficult to maintain a stable seated position.

The present invention was made in light of these circumstances, and its main purpose is to provide a bead cushion sofa that allows the user to have a stable seating position.

In order to solve the above problems, one aspect of the present invention provides a bead cushion sofa comprising an inner pouch made of a stretchable fabric and filled with beads, and an outer pouch made of a stretchable fabric that tightly houses the inner pouch; the inner pouch is rectangular and has a central region formed with multiple quilted sections formed vertically by sewing together the upper and lower pieces of fabric; the length of a first non-quilted section from one end of the quilted section to one vertical end of the inner pouch is greater than the length of a second non-quilted section from the other end of the quilted section to the other vertical end of the inner pouch.

In the above aspect, the length of the quilted portion may be greater than the length of the first non-quilted portion.

In addition, in the above aspect, the outer pouch may have an opening for containing the inner pouch, and a drawstring may be provided around the opening for tightening the opening, and the inner pouch may be tightly contained by tightening the opening with the drawstring while the inner pouch is contained.

Preferred embodiments of the present invention will now be described with reference to the drawings. Note that the following embodiments are merely examples of devices and methods that embody the technical concepts of the present invention, and the technical concepts of the present invention are not limited to those described below. Various modifications can be made to the technical concepts of the present invention within the technical scope set forth in the claims.

The bead cushion sofa of this embodiment comprises an inner pouch filled with beads, an outer pouch that houses the inner pouch, and a sheet-like portion provided below the inner pouch. The configurations of the inner pouch, outer pouch, and sheet-like portion are described below.

(Configuration of inner bag body)
Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing the configuration of an inner pouch provided in a bead cushion sofa according to this embodiment. In Fig. 1, each direction is indicated by an arrow. The direction toward the head of the user of the bead cushion sofa is referred to as "forward," the direction toward the legs is referred to as "rear," the direction toward the right hand side is referred to as "left," and the direction toward the left hand side is referred to as "right." Figs. 2 to 4 are a plan view, a right side view, and a front view, respectively, showing the configuration of the inner pouch, and Fig. 5 is a cross-sectional view taken along line A-A in Fig. 2.

The inner pouch 1 has a generally vertically elongated rectangular shape in a plan view, and is formed by sewing together the peripheries of two upper and lower pieces of fabric 11. The fabric 11 is made of a stretchable material containing, for example, polyurethane elastic fibers.

As shown in Figure 5, the interior of the inner pouch 1 is filled with a large number of beads 13. The beads 13 are spherical granules, for example, with a diameter of approximately 1 mm to 0.1 mm, and are made of foamed plastic such as polyethylene or polystyrene. The beads 13 are filled to the extent that they create tension in the fabric 11 and allow the inner pouch 1 to deform.

As shown in Figure 2, the central region of the inner pouch 1 in a plan view has two quilted sections 12, 12 formed by sewing upper and lower fabrics 11 together. The quilted sections 12, 12 extend linearly in the front-to-back direction (vertical direction) and face each other in the left-to-right direction (horizontal direction). The vertical length a of each quilted section 12 is the same. However, these lengths a may vary slightly.

The section from one front end of each quilted section 12 to one front end of the inner pouch 1 is a first non-quilted section where the upper and lower fabrics 11 are not sewn together. The section from one rear end of each quilted section 12 to one rear end of the inner pouch 1 is a second non-quilted section where the upper and lower fabrics 11 are not sewn together.

The length b1 of the first non-quilted portion is greater than the length b2 of the second non-quilted portion. In this embodiment, length b1 is approximately twice the length b2. Furthermore, the length a of the quilted portion 12 is greater than the length b1 of the first non-quilted portion. In this embodiment, length a is approximately twice the length b1. Note that approximately twice the length here is an example, and the length may be greater or less.

As described above, each of the quilted sections 12 extends vertically. Therefore, the quilted sections 12 inhibit the lateral movement of the beads 13 in the central region of the inner pouch 1 while encouraging their vertical movement. When a user presses this central region with their hand, the beads 13 in the central region are urged by the quilted sections 12 to move vertically, reaching the front and rear ends of the inner pouch 1, where the first and second non-quilted sections are formed, respectively.

Because there are no quilted sections at the front and rear ends of the inner pouch 1, the beads 13 can move easily both horizontally and vertically. On the other hand, the movement of the beads 13 vertically from the front and rear ends of the inner pouch 1 to the central region is hindered by the quilted sections 12, 12 formed in the central region. Therefore, once the beads 13 move from the central region of the inner pouch 1 to the front and rear ends, they do not easily return to the central region and remain within the front and rear ends.

As described above, the length b1 of the first non-quilted portion is greater than the length b2 of the second non-quilted portion, so the volume of the front end of the inner pouch 1 is greater than the volume of the rear end. Therefore, more beads 13 move to and remain at the front end than at the rear end. This results in a greater thickness (height) of the front end of the inner pouch 1 than at the rear end. Therefore, as shown in Figure 4, the front end is higher than the rear end on the top surface of the inner pouch 1. This front end functions as a backrest, including the back support portion of the bead cushion sofa. Depending on the vertical length of the front end and the user's build, the front end may also function as a headrest.

As shown in Figure 5, in the central region of the inner pouch 1, the region surrounded by the quilted sections 12, 12 has a smaller volume than the adjacent regions on the left and right. Therefore, the thickness of the region surrounded by the quilted sections 12, 12 is smaller than the thickness of the adjacent regions. Furthermore, if the beads 13 in the region surrounded by the quilted sections 12, 12 in the central region of the inner pouch 1 are moved to the front and rear ends of the inner pouch 1, the thickness of this region becomes smaller than the thickness of the adjacent regions on the front and rear, i.e., the front and rear ends of the inner pouch 1. Therefore, the central region of the inner pouch 1 is recessed in both the horizontal and vertical directions. The user's waist and buttocks fit into this recessed region.

Also, as mentioned above, the rear end of the inner pouch 1 is thicker than the central region (the recessed region described above). Therefore, when the user's lower back and buttocks fit into the central region, the rear end functions as a seat, including the seat surface of the bead cushion sofa.

As described above, the quilted portions 12, 12 of the inner pouch 1 form areas that function as the backrest and seat of the bead cushion sofa. As described above, once the beads 13 move from the central region of the inner pouch 1 to the front and rear ends, they do not easily return to the central region but remain within the front and rear ends, thereby maintaining stability in the areas that function as the backrest and seat. In the present embodiment, the outer pouch and sheet-like portion, described below, further stabilize these areas.

Furthermore, as described above, the length a of the quilted portion 12 is greater than the length b1 of the first non-quilted portion and the length b2 of the second non-quilted portion, so the recessed area is sufficiently secured and stably formed. In this case, the difference between the recessed area and the front end (backrest) and rear end (seat) is stably maintained, resulting in the backrest and seat being stably formed.

(Configuration of outer bag body)
Next, we will explain the structure of the outer pouch. This outer pouch functions as a sofa cover for the bead cushion sofa, and not only protects the inner pouch 1 from damage and soiling, but also changes the overall shape of the bead cushion sofa, as will be described later.

Figure 6 is a plan view of the configuration of the outer pouch provided with the bead cushion sofa. The outer pouch 2 is a roughly vertically elongated rectangle in plan view, and its external shape is substantially the same as that of the inner pouch 1 in plan view. The outer pouch 2 is formed by sewing together the rear, left, and right edges of two upper and lower pieces of fabric 21. The front edges are not sewn together, so an opening 22 is formed at the front end of the outer pouch 2. As will be described later, the inner pouch 1 is placed into the outer pouch 2 through this opening 22. The fabric 21, like the fabric 11 of the inner pouch 1, is made of a stretchable material containing polyurethane elastic fibers.

The outer pouch 2 is provided with a tightening mechanism for tightening the periphery of the opening 22. This tightening mechanism has a string passage 23 provided at the front edge of the outer pouch 2, a tightening string 24 that is inserted into the string passage 23, a communication hole 25 that connects the string passage 23 to the outside, and a stopper 26 that engages the tightening string 24 midway.

The string threading section 23 is formed in a cylindrical shape and is provided around the front edge of the outer pouch 2, i.e., the entire periphery of the opening edge of the opening 22. The drawstring 24 is inserted into the cylindrical interior and is used to tighten the opening 22. The length of the drawstring 24 is longer than the length of the string threading section 23, and a portion of it extends outward through the communication hole 25. A stopper 26 is engaged with the portion of the drawstring 24 that extends outward from the string threading section 23 (hereinafter referred to as the "extending portion").

The stopper 26 engages with the drawstring 24 so as to be slidable in the direction of extension of the drawstring 24, allowing it to be locked at any position on the drawstring 24. The stopper 26 has an outer diameter larger than the communication hole 25, preventing the extended portion of the drawstring 24 from entering the string-threading section 23 through the communication hole 25. Therefore, the length of the extended portion of the drawstring 24 can be adjusted using the stopper 26, and thus the length of the portion of the drawstring 24 inserted into the string-threading section 23 (hereinafter referred to as the "insertion portion") can be adjusted. As a result, the opening 22 can be tightened with the drawstring 24. By tightening the opening 22 in this manner, the outer pouch 2 tightly houses the inner pouch 1 and the sheet-like section (described below).

(Configuration of sheet-like portion)
Next, the configuration of the sheet-like portion will be described. This sheet-like portion functions as a restricting portion that restricts the movement of the beads filled in the inner pouch 1, and also functions as a member that maintains the shape of the inner pouch 1.

Figure 7 is a plan view of the configuration of the seat-like portion of the bead cushion sofa. The seat-like portion 3 is roughly rectangular in plan view, and its outer shape is approximately the same as that of the inner pouch 1.

The sheet-like portion 3 is made of a deformable material, such as low-resilience urethane foam, and has a thickness of approximately 1 to 10 cm. The sheet-like portion 3 is placed in close contact with the underside (bottom) of the inner pouch 1, restricting the movement of the beads 13 near the bottom of the inner pouch 1 and reducing the feeling of the bead cushion sofa touching the bottom. Although the sheet-like portion 3 can deform, it does so less easily than the inner pouch 1, thereby contributing to maintaining the shape of the inner pouch 1.

(How to use the bead cushion sofa)
Hereinafter, a method of using the bead cushion sofa having the inner pouch 1, the outer pouch 2, and the sheet-like portion 3 will be described with reference to FIGS. 8 to 10. FIG.
A user of the bead cushion sofa first adjusts the shape of the inner pouch 1 by, for example, pressing specific areas of the inner pouch 1 with their hands to move the beads. When the drawstring 24 is pulled until the inserted portion of the drawstring 24 is at its minimum length, the opening 22 is sufficiently drawn closed. At this time, the sheet-like portion 3 and the inner bag body 1 are pressed most strongly by the fabric 21 of the outer bag body 2, resulting in a compressed state. As a result, the overall shape of the bead cushion sofa 100 is rolled inward more. On the other hand, if the pulling of the drawstring 24 is stopped when the inserted portion of the drawstring 24 is still longer, the sheet-like portion 3 and the inner bag body 1 are compressed more gently.
