The present invention relates to a storage device that can store a variety of items.

Storage cases capable of storing a variety of items have been known for some time (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

In this type of storage case, if the vertical dimension of the stored item is longer than the storage space, part of the item will protrude above the storage space and be exposed to the surrounding area. As a result, storage cases with this configuration do not necessarily maintain a good appearance from the surrounding area, even when items are stored inside.

In addition, in recent years, various work styles such as remote work and working from home have become more common. In particular, in cases where the work location does not have a dedicated table, it has become unavoidable to remove the laptop from its storage case each time work is performed.

However, with conventional storage cases, components that protrude outward from the laptop body (such as the connection end of the power cord or mouse) can easily get in the way when storing the laptop.

In other words, with conventional storage cases, workers had to detach the power cord and other connection ends from the laptop every time they finished work and needed to store it away, which was a hassle for them.

Note that outwardly protruding components are not limited to those related to the laptop computer itself, but also apply to other items.

The present invention was developed in response to the above-mentioned circumstances, and aims to provide a storage device that can conveniently store items even when covered by a lid, even if they are larger than the storage space of the storage device itself, and that is configured to easily avoid interference with components that protrude outward, such as the connection end of a power cord on a laptop computer, even when covered by the lid.

In other words, the present invention has the following configuration:

As explained above, the present invention provides a storage device that can conveniently accommodate items that are larger than the storage space of the storage device body when covered by the lid, and that is configured to easily avoid interference with components that protrude outward, such as the connection end of a power cord on a laptop computer, even when covered by the lid.

One embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to Figures 1 to 10.

In this embodiment, the present invention is applied to a storage device capable of storing items such as a laptop computer P.

Note that Figures 9 and 10 show a notebook computer P as an example of the item, but of course any item that can be stored in the storage device can be used.

The storage device comprises a storage device body A having a storage space sp for storing items, and a lid body B supported by the storage device body A. The lid body B is supported by the rear wall portion 3 that constitutes the storage device body A.

As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the storage device of this embodiment is capable of taking an open position (G) in which the lid B opens up the upper part of the storage space sp. Furthermore, as shown in Figures 1 and 2, this storage device is also capable of taking a covered position (H) in which the area above the storage space sp is covered. As shown in Figures 5 and 6, etc., the lid B is configured to be detachable from the storage device main body A.

The storage device in this embodiment is described in detail below.

<<Storage body A>>
The storage device main body A can be placed on a placing surface such as a top plate, etc. The storage device main body A has an overall shape of a horizontally elongated rectangular box that is open at the top.

The storage device main body A comprises a bottom wall 1 having a generally horizontally elongated rectangular shape, a front wall 2 having a generally horizontally elongated rectangular shape erected from the front end of the bottom wall 1, a rear wall 3 having a generally horizontally elongated rectangular shape erected from the rear end of the bottom wall 1, and left and right side walls 4 having a generally rectangular shape erected from both the left and right ends of the bottom wall 1 and connecting the front wall 2 and rear wall 3.

The storage device body A is surrounded by a bottom wall 1, a front wall 2, a rear wall 3, and left and right side walls 4, forming a storage space sp in which items can be stored.

The storage device body A has an upper opening C that opens upward and is formed by the upper edge 2e of the front wall 2, the upper edge 3e of the rear wall 3, and the upper edges 4e of the left and right side wall sections 4.

<Bottom wall portion 1>
The bottom wall 1 is a rectangular plate whose underside contacts the top or other supporting surface. Although not shown in detail, the bottom wall 1 comprises a bottom exterior material mainly made of fabric and an insole plate attached to the inner surface of the bottom exterior material. The insole plate is made of a core material such as paperboard or plastic.

In this embodiment, the insole plate of the bottom wall 1 is detachably arranged relative to the bottom exterior material so that the storage device body A can assume a folded position (not shown).

In other words, the storage device main body A is configured so that it can assume a folded position with its dimensions compressed in the front-to-back direction when shipped or when not in use. The storage device main body A can assume the folded position by detaching the insole plate from the bottom exterior material and folding the left and right side wall portions 4 at the center in the front-to-back direction.

<Front wall part 2>
The front wall 2 has a horizontally long rectangular plate shape that stands upright. Although not shown in detail, the front wall 2 includes a rectangular plate-shaped core material and an exterior material that covers the core material.

A magnet J1 is located in the center of the upper part of the front wall 2 in the left-right direction, to which the other magnet J2 located on the front board 7 of the lid body B can be attracted when the lid is in the covered position (H).

One of the magnets, J1, is disposed between the outer surface of the core material and the exterior material so that it cannot be seen from the outside. A pair of left and right pockets 21 for storing small items are provided on the front side (outer surface) of the front wall 2. In addition, a pair of left and right pockets are also provided on the rear side (inner surface) of the front wall 2 facing the storage space sp.

<Back wall part 3>
The rear wall 3 is a horizontally elongated rectangular plate that stands upright and is disposed substantially parallel to the front wall 2. Although not shown in detail, the rear wall 3 includes a rectangular core material and an exterior material that covers the core material.

An inner pocket 31 is provided on the inner side of the rear wall 3 facing the storage space sp. The inner pocket 31 is used, for example, to store the lower part of a folded notebook computer P in an upright position along the rear wall 3 in the storage space sp. The tip of a posture-maintaining band 32 connected to the rear wall 3 can be detached from the center of the left-right section near the edge of the opening of the inner pocket 31.

One hook-and-loop fastener component M1, which extends in the left-right direction and serves as a lid fastening component, is provided on the outer surface of the upper part of the rear wall 3. One hook-and-loop fastener component M1 is disposed across substantially the entire width of the rear wall 3 in the left-right direction. The other hook-and-loop fastener component M2, which is provided on the inner surface of the baseboard portion 5 of the lid B, can be fastened to one hook-and-loop fastener component M1.

One of the hook components K1, which serves as the lid fastening portion that constitutes the hook K, is provided on the outer surface of the lower part of the rear wall 3. The hook components K1 are arranged in multiple locations (three locations) spaced apart in the left-right direction on the outer surface of the lower part of the rear wall 3. The other hook component K2, which is provided on the inner surface of the baseboard portion 5 of the lid B, can be fastened to one of the hook components K1.

<Left and right side wall portions 4>
The left and right side walls 4 are generally rectangular plates that stand upright. The left and right side walls 4 are disposed generally parallel to each other. Although not shown in detail, the left and right side walls 4 each include a pair of vertically elongated rectangular core materials and an exterior material that covers the pair of vertically elongated core materials. As described above, the left and right side walls 4 can be folded at the front-rear center 4c (the center in the left-right direction when viewed from the side) so that the storage device main body A can assume a folded position.

A belt member U for supporting the storage device main body A is provided on the outer surfaces of the left and right side walls 4. The belt member U is a single continuous band so that the user can wear it over the shoulder, etc. Both ends of the belt member U are supported by both the left and right side walls 4. In this embodiment, one end of the belt member U is attached to one support ring R1 provided on the left side wall 4, and the other end of the belt member U is attached to the other support ring R2 provided on the right side wall 4.

In this embodiment, one support ring R1 is disposed at the rear of the left side wall portion 4, and the other support ring R2 is disposed at the front of the right side wall portion 4.

<<Lid B>>
The lid body B comprises a base board portion 5 supported by the storage device main body A, a top board portion 6 connected to the base board portion 5 via a first hinge portion h1, and a front board portion 7 connected to the top board portion 6 via a second hinge portion h2.

Here, the explanation of the lid body B will be based primarily on the closed position (H).

<Baseboard section 5>
The baseboard 5 is a generally horizontally elongated rectangular plate. The baseboard 5 includes a rectangular core material 51 and an exterior material 52 that covers the core material 51. The baseboard 5 is supported by the storage device main body A in an upright position. The baseboard 5 is attached to the outer surface of the rear wall 3 of the storage device main body A.

The baseboard portion 5 has an extension portion 5s that extends above the storage device main body A. In other words, the lower portion of the baseboard portion 5 is attached to the storage device main body A, and the upper portion, the extension portion 5s, protrudes above the upper opening C of the storage device main body A.

On the inner surface of the baseboard portion 5, a hook-and-loop fastener component M2 and a hook-and-loop fastener component K2, which serve as the lid fastening portion, are arranged in correspondence with one hook-and-loop fastener component M1 and one hook-and-loop component K1 provided on the rear wall portion 3.

The core material 51 of the base board 5 is configured to be thicker than the core materials 61, 71 of the top board 6 and front board 7. In this embodiment, the core material 51 of the base board 5 is made by stacking two plate-shaped core materials together, and is approximately twice as thick as the core materials 61, 71 of the top board 6 and front board 7.

Of course, the core material 51 of the baseboard portion 5 does not have to be made up of multiple laminated sheets, but may instead be a single piece.

The rear end of the top board 6 is connected to the upper end of the base board 5 via a first hinge portion h1. The first hinge portion h1 is located between the upper end of the base board 5 and the rear end of the top board 6.

<First hinge portion h1>
The first hinge portion h1 is formed by a portion that does not have a core material. The first hinge portion h1 is provided at a location where the exterior material on the outer surface side and the exterior material on the inner surface side are sewn together to separate the base board portion 5 and the top board portion 6.

<Top board section 6>
The top board 6 is in the shape of a generally horizontally elongated rectangular plate. The top board 6 includes a rectangular core material 61 and an exterior material 62 that covers the core material 61. The top board 6 is in a generally horizontal position in the closed position (H). On the other hand, the top board 6 is in an upright position that is generally aligned with the outer surface of the base board 5 in the open position (G).

In this embodiment, the position of the first hinge portion h1 relative to the base board portion 5 is set so that the upper end surface 5t of the base board portion 5 supports the lower surface 6m of the rear end portion of the top board portion 6 in the covered position (H).

In other words, the end of the top board 6 facing the base board 5 can be placed flat on the upper end surface 5t of the base board 5 so that the horizontal position of the top board 6 is stable when it is in the covered position (H).

More specifically, as shown in Figure 7, the first hinge portion h1 is configured to be positioned at the rear of the upper end surface 5t of the baseboard portion 5 when in the covered position (H).

The front board 7 is connected to the front end of the top board 6 via a second hinge h2. The second hinge h2 is located between the front end of the top board 6 and the upper end of the front board 7.

<Second hinge portion h2>
The second hinge portion h2 is formed of a portion that does not have a core material, similar to the first hinge portion h1. The second hinge portion h2 is provided at a location where the exterior material on the outer surface side and the exterior material on the inner surface side are sewn together to separate the top board portion 6 and the front board portion 7.

<Front board section 7>
The front board 7 has a generally horizontally elongated rectangular plate shape and includes a rectangular core material 71 and an exterior material 72 that covers the core material 71.

The front board 7 is in an upright position in the closed position (H). In other words, in the closed position (H), the front board 7 hangs downward from the tip of the top board 6. On the other hand, in the open position (G), the front board 7 is in an upright position, roughly aligned with the outer surface of the base board 5.

The vertical dimension of the base board 5 is set to be approximately the same as or slightly longer than the combined vertical dimension of the top board 6 and front board 7 in the open position (G).

A magnet J2 is located at the bottom of the front board 7, i.e., in the center of the front end in the left-right direction, and can be attracted to the magnet J1 located on the front wall 2 when the car seat is in the covered position (H). The magnet J2 is located between the inner surface of the core material 71 and the exterior material 72, and is not visible from the outside.

A writing instrument holder F is provided in the center of the left-right direction on the inner surface of the front board 7, acting as an engagement part that stabilizes the closed position (H) of the lid body B by engaging with the storage device main body A. That is, a writing instrument holder F that can hold a rod-shaped item, such as a writing instrument (not shown), is provided in the center of the left-right direction on the inner surface of the front board 7. The writing instrument holder F is provided in approximately the same left-right position as the other magnet J2 provided on the front board 7, and is positioned above the other magnet J2.

The writing instrument holder F comprises a plate-shaped base portion f1 attached to the inner surface of the front board portion 7, and an annular portion f2 supported by the base portion f1 and having a writing instrument insertion hole extending left and right. The lower portions of the base portion f1 and annular portion f2 of the writing instrument holder F engage with the upper edge 2e of the front wall portion 2, which forms the upper opening C of the storage device main body A, thereby stabilizing the closed position (H) of the lid body B.

In other words, in the closed position (H), the lid body B utilizes both an engagement structure between one magnet J1 and the other magnet J2, and an engagement structure between the writing implement holder F and the upper edge 2e of the front wall 2, so that the front board 7 is properly positioned relative to the front wall 2 of the storage device main body A.

<<Side opening D>>
In this embodiment, the storage device has the lid body B in the covering position (H) capable of defining an expanded spatial area es that is continuous with the storage space sp above the storage device main body A and forming a side opening D that opens the expanded spatial area es to the side in cooperation with the storage device main body A. The side opening D that opens the expanded spatial area es to the side is formed in a substantially rectangular shape in a side view.

In other words, the lid body B can form an expanded spatial area es directly above the storage device main body A, surrounded by the base board portion 5, top board portion 6, and front board portion 7, in the shape of a roughly horizontally elongated rectangular parallelepiped.

Furthermore, the roughly rectangular side openings D are provided in pairs on the left and right so that the expanded spatial area es can be viewed from the left and right. The side openings D are formed by the upper edges 4e of the left and right side wall portions 4 of the storage device main body A, the left and right side edges 5e of the base board portion 5, the left and right side edges 6e of the top board portion 6, and the left and right side edges 7e of the front board portion 7.

As shown in Figure 9, the side opening D can accommodate the connection end pt of a mouse, which is a member that protrudes outward from the folded notebook computer body P, which is an item. Another example of a member that protrudes outward from the notebook computer body P is the connection end of a power cord.

With this storage device, the worker does not need to detach the connection end pt of the mouse or power cord from the notebook PC A every time they finish work and need to store the notebook PC A. In other words, with this storage device, the worker can smoothly store the notebook PC A without worrying about interference with the notebook PC A, while still keeping the connection end pt connected to the notebook PC A.

As explained above, the storage device according to this embodiment comprises a storage device main body A having a storage space sp in which items are stored, and a lid body B supported by the storage device main body A.

The lid body B can take two positions: an open position (G) that leaves the top of the storage space sp open, and a covered position (H) that covers the area above the storage space sp. When in the covered position (H), the lid body B can define an expanded space area es above the storage device main body A that is continuous with the storage space sp, and can cooperate with the storage device main body A to form a side opening D that opens the expanded space area es to the side.

For this reason, this embodiment can be configured so that even items larger than the storage space sp of the storage device main body A can be conveniently stored while covered by the lid body B.

Furthermore, in this embodiment, side openings D are formed that open the expansion space area es to the side, so even when the lid B is closed, interference with components that protrude outward, such as the connection terminals pt connected to the notebook computer A, is effectively avoided.

The side opening D is formed in a roughly rectangular shape when viewed from the side.

This allows the expanded space area es to be optimally formed so that the top end of the item is less likely to interfere with the lid body B in the front-to-rear direction.

The lid body B comprises a base board portion 5 supported by the storage device main body A, a top board portion 6 connected to the base board portion 5 via a first hinge portion h1, and a front board portion 7 connected to the top board portion 6 via a second hinge portion h2.

As a result, the lid body B can be suitably positioned not only in the covered position (H) that can form a side opening D that opens the expanded spatial area es to the side, but also in the open position (G).

The position of the first hinge portion h1 relative to the base board portion 5 is set so that, in the covered position (H), the lower surface 6m of the top board portion 6 can be supported on the upper end surface 5t of the base board portion 5.

As a result, the position of the top board portion 6 relative to the base board portion 5 is stabilized in the covered position (H).

The baseboard portion 5 is supported by the storage device main body A in an upright position and has an extension portion 5s that extends above the storage device main body A.

For this reason, the lid body B has an extension portion 5s on the base board portion 5, which provides an ideal configuration for forming a side opening D.

Furthermore, in the open position (G), the extension portion 5s of the base boat section functions as a partition, making it difficult to see the upper part of the items stored in the storage space sp from the rear side. Therefore, with this configuration, the psychological burden of having the items stored in the storage space sp blatantly visible to others can be effectively reduced.

The lid B is configured to be detachable from the storage device main body A, so that the lid B can be detached from the storage device main body A at will, for example, when the storage space is limited.

A writing implement holder F, which can hold a rod-shaped writing implement, is provided on the inside of the lid B. The writing implement holder F engages with the storage device main body A, stabilizing the closed position (H) of the lid B.

As a result, the closed position (H) of the lid body B is maintained in an optimal state by utilizing the engagement between the writing implement holder F and the storage device body A.

A belt member U is provided on the storage device main body A to support the storage device main body A.

This allows the storage device main body A and the lid body B supported by the storage device main body A to be conveniently carried using the belt member U.

The storage device main body A comprises a horizontally elongated rectangular bottom wall 1, a horizontally elongated rectangular front wall 2 erected from the front end of the bottom wall 1, a horizontally elongated rectangular rear wall 3 erected from the rear end of the bottom wall 1, and rectangular left and right side walls 4 erected from both left and right ends of the bottom wall 1 and connecting the front wall 2 and rear wall 3. A lid B is supported on the rear wall 3.

For this reason, the storage device main body A not only has a suitable shape for forming a storage space sp in which items are stored, but also has a suitable shape for supporting the lid body B relative to the storage device main body A.

Note that the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described above.

For example, as shown in Figures 11 and 12, the storage device may be provided with multiple lids (one lid B1, another lid B2) of different sizes that are detachably attached to the storage device main body A, and only one selected lid from among these may be attached to the storage device main body A. Note that the multiple lids may be three or more.

In the examples of Figures 11 and 12, the size of the side opening D is configured to differ depending on whether a selected lid B1 is attached to the storage device main body A (Figure 11) or a selected other lid B2 is attached to the storage device main body A (Figure 12).

Even with this configuration, the intended purpose can be achieved, and the size of the lids B1 and B2 can be flexibly adjusted depending on the items to be stored and the location where the storage equipment is kept.

Of course, any type of item can be stored in the storage device body.

The lid may not be configured to be detachable from the storage device body.

The lid fastening portion is not limited to a hook-and-loop fastener or a hook and eye fastener, and may be, for example, a fastener.

The extended spatial region is not limited to forming a rectangular parallelepiped spatial region as in the above-described embodiment.

The shape of the side opening is not limited to the approximately rectangular shape of the embodiment described above.

The engaging portion of the lid body may be any type that is provided on the inner surface of the lid body and can stabilize the covering position of the lid body by engaging with the storage device body, and is not limited to the item holder shown in the above-mentioned embodiment.

Instead of a belt member primarily composed of a belt-like member, the storage device body may be provided with a handle member.

Furthermore, the belt member may be configured so that its length is adjustable, or it may not be configured so that its length is adjustable.

The belt member may be configured to be detachable from the storage device main body, or may be configured to be fixed to the storage device main body from the beginning.

In addition, the specific configuration of each part is not limited to the above embodiment, and various modifications are possible without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
