反射防止膜、偏光フィルム及び粘着剤層を積層方向にこの順で有するとともに、導電層をさらに有する反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムと、
液晶セルと、

前記反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムと前記液晶セルとの間には導電層が設けられておらず、
前記反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムが有する前記導電層の表面抵抗率は、1.0×106Ω/□以下であり、
前記反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムは、前記粘着剤層が無アルカリガラスと直接接するように前記無アルカリガラスと積層された状態で、CIE標準光源D65からの光が前記粘着剤層とは反対側の表面から入射したときに、視感反射率Yが1.1%以下である反射光を生じる、液晶パネルを提供する。
図1に示すように、本実施形態の液晶パネル100は、反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15及び液晶セル25を備える。反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15と液晶セル25との間には導電層、例えばITO層、が設けられておらず、反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15は、液晶セル25に直接的又は間接的に接している。反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15と液晶セル25との間には、本発明の効果を妨げない範囲で、導電層以外の他の層が配置されていてもよい。反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15は、反射防止膜10、偏光フィルム20及び粘着剤層30を積層方向にこの順で有するとともに、導電層40をさらに有する。導電層40は、例えば、偏光フィルム20と粘着剤層30との間に配置されており、偏光フィルム20及び粘着剤層30のそれぞれに接している。導電層40が偏光フィルム20と粘着剤層30との間に配置されている場合、導電層40の劣化が抑制される傾向がある。ただし、導電層40は、偏光フィルム20と粘着剤層30との間以外に配置されていてもよく、例えば、反射防止膜10と偏光フィルム20との間に配置されていてもよい。

図2に示すように、反射防止膜10は、第1の高屈折率層1、第1の低屈折率層2、第2の高屈折率層3及び第2の低屈折率層4を積層方向にこの順で有する。第1の高屈折率層1は、例えば、偏光フィルム20に接している。第2の低屈折率層4は、例えば、これらの層のうち、最も視認側に位置する。
偏光フィルム20は、偏光子及び透明保護フィルムを含む積層体である。透明保護フィルムは、例えば、層状の偏光子の主面(最も広い面積を有する表面)に接して配置されている。偏光子は、2つの透明保護フィルムの間に配置されていてもよい。偏光子としては、特に限定されず、例えば、ポリビニルアルコール系フィルム、部分ホルマール化ポリビニルアルコール系フィルム、エチレン・酢酸ビニル共重合体系部分ケン化フィルム等の親水性高分子フィルムに、ヨウ素、二色性染料などの二色性物質を吸着させて一軸延伸したもの;ポリビニルアルコールの脱水処理物、ポリ塩化ビニルの脱塩酸処理物等のポリエン系配向フィルム等が挙げられる。偏光子は、ポリビニルアルコール系フィルム、及び、ヨウ素等の二色性物質からなることが好ましい。
導電層40は、導電材料を含む層である。導電材料は、ITO以外の材料であってもよく、例えば、導電性ポリマー、導電性ポリマーとドーパントとの複合体、イオン性界面活性剤、導電性微粒子、イオン性化合物等である。導電層40は、透明性、全光線透過率、外観、帯電防止効果、及び、高温又は多湿環境下での帯電防止効果の安定性の観点から、導電性ポリマーを含むことが好ましい。導電層40が導電材料として導電性ポリマーを含む場合、導電性微粒子を含む場合に比べて、導電層40の厚さを比較的大きく調整してもヘイズが発生しにくい。そのため、導電層40が液晶セル25と偏光子との間に配置されている場合であっても、導電性ポリマーを含む導電層40は、偏光解消を生じさせにくく、液晶表示装置が表示する画像のコントラストを低下させにくい。導電層40が導電材料として導電性ポリマーを含む場合、導電性微粒子を含む場合に比べて、導電層40の屈折率が低い傾向がある。そのため、導電性ポリマーを含む導電層40は、液晶パネル100の光の反射率をより低下させることに適している。

粘着剤層30は、粘着剤を含む層である。粘着剤層30に含まれる粘着剤としては、例えば、ゴム系粘着剤、アクリル系粘着剤、シリコーン系粘着剤、ウレタン系粘着剤、ビニルアルキルエーテル系粘着剤、ポリビニルピロリドン系粘着剤、ポリアクリルアミド系粘着剤、セルロース系粘着剤等が挙げられる。粘着剤層30に含まれる粘着剤としては、光学的透明性に優れ、適切な濡れ性、凝集性、接着性などの粘着特性を有し、耐候性、耐熱性等に優れる点から、アクリル系粘着剤が好ましい。
反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15は、反射防止膜10、偏光フィルム20、導電層40及び粘着剤層30以外の他の層をさらに備えていてもよい。反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15は、1つ又は2つ以上の他の層を含んでいてもよい。他の層は、例えば、反射防止膜10よりも視認側に配置され、反射防止膜10に接している。他の層としては、例えば、表面保護フィルム及び位相差膜が挙げられる。
導電層40を有する反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15は、例えば、次の方法によって作製することができる。まず、導電材料の溶液又は分散液を調製する。溶液又は分散液の溶媒は、例えば水であり、水溶性の有機溶媒をさらに含んでいてもよい。水溶性の有機溶媒としては、例えば、メタノール、エタノール、n-プロパノール、イソプロパノール、n-ブタノール、イソブタノール、sec-ブタノール、tert-ブタノール、n-アミルアルコール、イソアミルアルコール、sec-アミルアルコール、tert-アミルアルコール、1-エチル-1-プロパノール、2-メチル-1-ブタノール、n-ヘキサノール、シクロヘキサノール等のアルコール類が挙げられる。
液晶セル25は、例えば、液晶層50、第1透明基板60及び第2透明基板70を備えている。液晶層50は、例えば、第1透明基板60及び第2透明基板70の間に配置されており、第1透明基板60及び第2透明基板70のそれぞれに接している。反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15の粘着剤層30は、例えば、液晶セル25の第1透明基板60に接している。液晶パネル100は、例えば、粘着剤層30と第1透明基板60との間にITO層を有していない。
液晶パネル100は、反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15及び液晶セル25以外の他の部材をさらに備えていてもよい。例えば、液晶パネル100は、反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15の側面に電気的に接続している導通構造(図示せず)をさらに備えていてもよい。導通構造をアースに接続すれば、反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15が静電気によって帯電することを抑制しやすい。導通構造は、反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15の側面全体を覆っていてもよく、反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15の側面を部分的に覆っていてもよい。反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15の側面全体の面積に対する導通構造によって覆われた反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15の側面の面積の比率は、例えば1%以上であり、好ましくは3%以上である。
液晶パネル100が備える反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム15は、上述した部材以外の他の部材をさらに備えていてもよい。図4に示すとおり、本変形例にかかる液晶パネル110において、反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム16は、反射防止膜10と偏光フィルム20との間に配置された透明基板45及び粘着剤層46をさらに有している。透明基板45及び粘着剤層46を除き、液晶パネル110の構造は、液晶パネル100の構造と同じである。したがって、液晶パネル100と変形例の液晶パネル110とで共通する要素には同じ参照符号を付し、それらの説明を省略することがある。すなわち、以下の各実施形態に関する説明は、技術的に矛盾しない限り、相互に適用される。以下の各実施形態は、技術的に矛盾しない限り、相互に組み合わされてもよい。
液晶パネル100又は110は、タッチセンサ又はタッチパネルをさらに備えていてもよい。図5は、タッチパネル80を備えた液晶パネル120を示している。タッチパネル80を除き、液晶パネル120の構造は、液晶パネル100の構造と同じである。
本実施形態の液晶表示装置は、例えば、液晶パネル100及び照明システムを備えている。液晶表示装置では、液晶パネル100に代えて、液晶パネル110又は120も使用可能である。液晶表示装置において、液晶パネル100は、例えば、照明システムよりも視認側に配置されている。照明システムは、例えば、バックライト又は反射板を有し、液晶パネル100に光を照射する。
以下の実施例において、(メタ)アクリル系ポリマーの重量平均分子量(Mw)は、GPC(ゲル・パーミエーション・クロマトグラフィー)により測定した。(メタ)アクリル系ポリマーのMw/Mnについても、同様に測定した。

まず、攪拌羽根、温度計、窒素ガス導入管及び冷却器を備えた4つ口フラスコに、ブチルアクリレート76.9部、ベンジルアクリレート18部、アクリル酸5部、4-ヒドロキシブチルアクリレート0.1部を仕込むことによってモノマー混合物を得た。さらに、モノマー混合物(固形分)100部に対して、重合開始剤として2,2’-アゾビスイソブチロニトリル0.1部を酢酸エチル100部と共に仕込んだ。混合物を緩やかに攪拌しながら、フラスコ内について窒素ガスを導入して窒素置換した。フラスコ内の液温を55℃付近に維持して8時間重合反応を行うことによって、重量平均分子量(Mw)200万、Mw/Mn=4.1のアクリル系ポリマーの溶液を調製した。
アクリル系ポリマーの溶液の固形分100部に対して、1部のビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)イミドリチウム(LiTFSI、三菱マテリアル社製)をさらに配合して、アクリル系粘着剤組成物の溶液を調製したことを除き、粘着剤層Aと同じ方法によって、粘着剤層Bを作製した。
まず、攪拌羽根、温度計、窒素ガス導入管及び冷却器を備えた4つ口フラスコに、ブチルアクリレート94.9部、アクリル酸5部、4-ヒドロキシブチルアクリレート0.1部を仕込むことによってモノマー混合物を得た。さらに、モノマー混合物(固形分)100部に対して、重合開始剤として2,2’-アゾビスイソブチロニトリル0.1部を酢酸エチル100部と共に仕込んだ。混合物を緩やかに攪拌しながら、フラスコ内について窒素ガスを導入して窒素置換した。フラスコ内の液温を55℃付近に維持して8時間重合反応を行うことによって、重量平均分子量(Mw)210万、Mw/Mn=4.0のアクリル系ポリマーの溶液を調製した。
まず、アンチグレア層を形成するための樹脂として、紫外線硬化型ウレタンアクリレート樹脂(三菱ケミカル(株)製、商品名「UV1700TL」、固形分濃度80重量%)50重量部、及び、ペンタエリスリトールトリアクリレートを主成分とする多官能アクリレート(大阪有機化学工業(株)製、商品名「ビスコート#300」、固形分濃度100重量%)50重量部を準備した。これらの樹脂の固形分100重量部あたり、(メタ)アクリル酸エステルとスチレンの共重合体を含む粒子(積水化成品工業(株)製、商品名「テクポリマーSSX504TNR」、重量平均粒径:3.0μm)を4重量部、チキソトロピー付与剤として有機粘土である合成スメクタイト(クニミネ工業(株)製、商品名「スメクトンSAN」)を1.5重量部、光重合開始剤(BASF社製、商品名「OMNIRAD907」)を3重量部、レベリング剤(DIC(株)製、商品名「GRANDIC PC4100」、固形分濃度10重量%)を0.015重量部混合した。この混合物について、固形分濃度が50重量%となるように、トルエン/シクロペンタノン混合溶媒(重量比80/20)で希釈して、アンチグレア層を形成するための材料(塗工液)を調製した。
各層の物理膜厚を表1に示す値に変更したことを除いて、反射防止膜AR1と同じ方法によって、反射防止膜AR2~AR10を作製した。
まず、以下の方法によってアクリルフィルムを作製した。攪拌装置、温度センサー、冷却管、窒素導入管を備えた容量30Lの釜型反応器に、8,000gのメタクリル酸メチル(MMA)、2,000gの2-(ヒドロキシメチル)アクリル酸メチル(MHMA)、10,000gの4-メチル-2-ペンタノン(メチルイソブチルケトン、MIBK)、5gのn-ドデシルメルカプタンを仕込んだ。反応器内に窒素を導入しつつ、反応器内の混合物を105℃まで昇温し還流させた。次に、重合開始剤として5.0gのt-ブチルパーオキシイソプロピルカーボネート(カヤカルボンBIC-7、化薬アクゾ社製)を添加するとともに、10.0gのt-ブチルパーオキシイソプロピルカーボネートと230gのMIBKからなる溶液を4時間かけて滴下し、溶液重合を行った。溶液重合は、還流下、約105~120℃で行った。溶液の滴下後に、さらに4時間かけて熟成を行った。
まず、PEDOT/PSSを含む溶液(ナガセケムテックス社製のデナトロンPT-436)50部及び水50部を混合することによって、固形分濃度が0.5重量%である塗布液を調製した。次に、塗布液を偏光フィルムP1のアクリルフィルム側の表面に塗布した。得られた塗布膜を80℃で2分間乾燥させることによって導電層を作製した。これにより、導電層付き偏光フィルムを得た。導電層の厚さは、30nmであった。
導電層の厚さが90nmとなるように、PEDOT/PSSの塗布液を偏光フィルムP1に塗布したことを除き、実施例1と同じ方法によって実施例2の反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムを作製した。
反射防止膜、導電層及び粘着剤層を表2に示す組み合わせに変更したことを除き、実施例1と同じ方法によって、実施例3~12及び比較例1~2の反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムを作製した。なお、比較例2では、偏光フィルムP1に導電層を形成せずに、偏光フィルムP1のアクリルフィルム側の表面に粘着剤層Aを直接貼り合わせた。
まず、PEDOT/PSSを含む溶液(ナガセケムテックス社製のデナトロンP-580W)9部及び水91部を混合することによって、固形分濃度が0.27重量%である塗布液を調製した。次に、塗布液を偏光フィルムP1のアクリルフィルム側の表面に塗布した。得られた塗布膜を80℃で2分間乾燥させることによって導電層を作製した。これにより、導電層付き偏光フィルムを得た。導電層の厚さは、100nmであった。
まず、PEDOT/PSSを含む溶液(ナガセケムテックス社製のデナトロンP-580W)8.6部、オキサゾリン基含有アクリルポリマーを含む溶液(商品名:エポクロスWS-700、日本触媒製)1部、及び、水90.4部を混合し、導電層を形成するための塗布液(固形分濃度0.5重量%)を調製した。得られた塗布液において、ポリチオフェン系ポリマーの濃度が0.04重量%であり、オキサゾリン基含有アクリルポリマーの濃度が0.25重量%であった。
実施例及び比較例で得られた反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムについて、粘着剤層が無アルカリガラスと直接接するように無アルカリガラスと積層された状態で、CIE標準光源D65からの光が反射防止膜から入射したときに生じる反射光の視感反射率Y、L*値、a*値及びb*値、並びに、L*値=0、a*値=0及びb*値=0を満たす光と反射光との色差ΔEを上述の方法により評価した。このとき、反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムは、50mm角に切り出して使用した。無アルカリガラスとしては、コーニング社製のEG-XG(厚さ0.7mm)を用いた。黒色フィルムとしては、ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)製のものを用いた。分光反射率は、分光光度計(コニカミノルタ社製、商品名「CM2600D」)を用いて測定した。光学特性を評価するための評価サンプルは、反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム/無アルカリガラス/黒色PETフィルムの構成を有していた。ただし、比較例1の反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムについては、表面に非晶性のITO層(厚さ20nm)が形成された無アルカリガラスを用いて反射光を評価した。すなわち、比較例1において、評価サンプルは、反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム/ITO層/無アルカリガラス/黒色PETフィルムの構成を有していた。ITO層の作製には、スパッタリングを利用した。ITO層に含まれるITOのSn比率は、3重量%であった。Sn比率は、ITOにおけるSn原子の重量/(Sn原子の重量+In原子の重量)から算出した。
反射防止膜AR1~AR10について、CIE標準光源D65からの光が入射したときに生じる反射光の視感反射率Y1、a1 *値及びb1 *値を上述の方法により評価した。黒色フィルム、分光光度計などは、反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムの光学特性の評価に利用したものと同じものを用いた。
粘着剤層A及びBの表面抵抗率(Ω/□)は、粘着剤層A又はBをセパレータの表面に形成した段階で測定した。表面抵抗率の測定には、抵抗率計(三菱ケミカルアナリテック社製のハイレスタ-UP MCP-HT450)を用いた。測定条件は、印加電圧が250Vであり、印加時間が10秒であった。
実施例及び比較例において、導電層の表面抵抗率(Ω/□)は、導電層を偏光フィルムP1の表面に形成した段階で測定した。実施例13及び比較例3では、導電層の表面抵抗率の測定は、抵抗率計(三菱ケミカルアナリテック社製のハイレスタ-UP MCP-HT450)を用いて、JIS K6911:1995に規定された方法に準拠して行った。測定条件は、印加電圧が10Vであり、印加時間が10秒であった。実施例1~12及び比較例1では、導電層の表面抵抗率の測定は、抵抗率計(三菱ケミカルアナリテック社製のロレスタ-GP MCP-T600)を用いて、JIS K7194:1994に規定された方法に準拠して行った。測定条件は、印加電圧が10Vであり、印加時間が10秒であった。
比較例2では、抵抗率計(三菱ケミカルアナリテック社製のハイレスタ-UP MCP-HT450)を用いて、JIS K6911:1995に規定された方法に準拠して、偏光フィルムP1の表面抵抗率を測定した。測定条件は、印加電圧が10Vであり、印加時間が10秒であった。偏光フィルムP1の表面抵抗率は、1.0×1014Ω/□を上回った。
まず、偏光フィルムP1の全光線透過率T1をJIS K7361-1:1997の規定に準拠して、分光光度計(日本分光社製のV7100)を用いて測定した。同様の方法で、導電層を偏光フィルムP1の表面に形成した段階で、偏光フィルムP1及び導電層からなる積層体Lの全光線透過率T2を測定した。積層体Lの全光線透過率T2は、偏光フィルムP1側から光を入射させて測定した。偏光フィルムP1の全光線透過率T1と全光線透過率T2との差(T1-T2)を算出し、得られた算出値を導電層による全光線透過率の損失Aとみなした。
まず、実施例及び比較例で得られた反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムを液晶セルの視認側の表面に貼り合わせて液晶パネルを作製した。ただし、比較例1については、表面に非晶性のITO層(厚さ20nm)が形成された液晶セルを用いた。すなわち、比較例1において、液晶パネルは、反射防止膜付き偏光フィルム/ITO層/液晶セルの構成を有していた。ITO層の作製には、スパッタリングを利用した。ITO層に含まれるITOのSn比率は、3重量%であった。次に、反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムの側面を覆うように、5mm幅で、銀ペーストを塗布した。銀ペーストを乾燥させることによって、銀で構成された導通構造を形成した。この導通構造を通じて、液晶パネルを外部のアース電極と電気的に接続させた。次に、液晶パネルをバックライト装置の上にセットした。次に、印加電圧が10kVに調節された静電気放電(ESD)銃を用いて、液晶パネルの視認側(反射防止膜側)に静電気を付与した。これにより、液晶パネルの一部が白抜けした。静電気を付与してから、白抜けした部分が消失するまでの時間Tを測定した。表2では、以下の時間Tに関する基準に基づいて、ESD試験の結果を評価した。なお、ESD試験は、23℃、55%RHの条件で行った。
(評価基準)
A:0.5秒以下
B:0.5秒を超え、1秒以下
C:1秒を超え、10秒以下
D:10秒を超える
上記のESD試験で作製した液晶パネルを視認側(反射防止膜側)から目視で観察し、色味を評価した。表2の色味の項目において、Aは、色味が確認されなかったことを意味する。Bは、色味がごくわずかに確認されたことを意味する。Cは、色味がわずかに確認されたことを意味する。Dは、色味が確認されたことを意味する。

Claims (13)
- 反射防止膜、偏光フィルム及び粘着剤層を積層方向にこの順で有するとともに、導電層をさらに有する反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムと、
液晶セルと、
を備え、
前記反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムと前記液晶セルとの間には導電層が設けられておらず、
前記反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムが有する前記導電層は、前記偏光フィルムと前記粘着剤層との間に配置されており、
前記反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムが有する前記導電層の表面抵抗率は、8.6×10 2 ~1.0×106Ω/□であり、
前記反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムは、前記粘着剤層が無アルカリガラスと直接接するように前記無アルカリガラスと積層された状態で、CIE標準光源D65からの光が前記粘着剤層とは反対側の表面から入射したときに、視感反射率Yが1.1%以下である反射光を生じる、液晶パネル。 - 前記表面抵抗率が1.0×104Ω/□以下である、請求項1に記載の液晶パネル。
- 前記視感反射率Yが0.9%以下である、請求項1又は2に記載の液晶パネル。
- 前記反射防止膜付き偏光フィルムが有する前記導電層による全光線透過率の損失が0.9%以下である、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の液晶パネル。
- 前記反射光のL*a*b*表色系におけるa*値及びb*値が下記関係式(1)及び(2)を満たす、請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の液晶パネル。

-18≦b*≦5 (2) - 前記a*値が-6以上6以下である、請求項5に記載の液晶パネル。
- 前記a*値が-3以上3以下である、請求項6に記載の液晶パネル。
- 前記b*値が-15以上3以下である、請求項5~7のいずれか1項に記載の液晶パネル。
- 前記b*値が-10以上2以下である、請求項8に記載の液晶パネル。
- 前記b*値が-6以上2以下である、請求項9に記載の液晶パネル。
- 前記反射防止膜は、第1の高屈折率層、第1の低屈折率層、第2の高屈折率層及び第2の低屈折率層を積層方向にこの順で有する、請求項1~10のいずれか1項に記載の液晶パネル。
- 前記第1の高屈折率層の光学膜厚が20nm~35nmであり、
前記第1の低屈折率層の光学膜厚が38nm~50nmであり、
前記第2の高屈折率層の光学膜厚が230nm~290nmであり、
前記第2の低屈折率層の光学膜厚が100nm~128nmである、請求項11に記載の液晶パネル。 - 前記粘着剤層が導電材料を含む、請求項1~12のいずれか1項に記載の液晶パネル。
