Description
The present invention relates to an actuator, and in particular to an actuator that has a high shaft holding force when not excited.
As a conventional actuator, for example, Patent Documents 1 and 2 disclose a small latching solenoid that can hold the state of the stroke end of the shaft with a built-in magnet. On the other hand, a so-called step feed configuration has also been proposed as a high-power, long-stroke solenoid in which the movable core and shaft are repeatedly engaged and disengaged in accordance with the movement of the movable core, thereby advancing the shaft little by little to obtain a large movement distance.
As an example of the step feed actuator, the applicant has proposed an actuator that employs a locking mechanism in Patent Document 3. The locking mechanism of this actuator has a simple configuration that mainly uses rolling elements and engaging members, but can switch the restricting direction of the shaft according to the position of the movable iron core, which makes it possible to reduce the size and cost of the entire configuration, including the electromagnetic part.
However, the holding force of the shaft at the end of the stroke is affected by parts precision, changes over time, and even usage conditions. For example, there is slight dimensional variation in the elastic bodies such as coil springs used inside the actuator, and the biasing force can change over time.
Furthermore, if this actuator is used in an automobile, it will be subject to vibrations from the road surface while driving, as well as vibrations when other mechanical parts are in operation. When dynamic loads such as vibrations act on the actuator, the shaft will repeatedly perform minute rotational and reciprocating movements, which may result in an effect on the holding force of the member supporting the shaft.
In view of these problems, the present invention aims to provide an actuator that increases the holding force of the shaft when not excited.
To solve the above problems, a typical configuration of an actuator according to the present invention includes a housing, a cylindrical coil arranged inside the housing, a movable iron core arranged inside the coil, a shaft inserted into the movable iron core, and a locking mechanism that engages the movable iron core and the shaft when the coil is excited. The locking mechanism includes a plurality of rolling elements that roll on the outer periphery of the shaft to form wedges, and an engaging member that is fixed to the movable iron core and includes two inwardly facing inclined surfaces with which the rolling elements come into contact. The shaft has an outer periphery groove in which the rolling elements fit when the shaft is near the stroke end.
In the above configuration, when the shaft in the stroke end state is pushed back by an external force, the rolling elements of the locking mechanism engage with the outer peripheral groove of the shaft, increasing the engagement force between the shaft and the locking mechanism, dramatically increasing the holding force of the shaft when it is not energized.
The shaft may have an impact stop portion that limits the stroke range, and the outer circumferential groove may be formed at a position outside the stroke range relative to the rolling elements when the shaft is at the stroke end.
The above configuration allows the rolling elements to be reliably engaged in the outer peripheral groove. When an external force causes the shaft to move outward in the stroke range, the impact stopper restricts the movement. On the other hand, when an external force causes the shaft to move inward in the stroke, the rolling elements are engaged in the outer peripheral groove and restrict the movement. In other words, the movement of the shaft can be reliably restricted in either direction, and its position can be maintained.
It is preferable that the inside of the housing is provided with a pair of movable iron cores, a locking mechanism, and an outer peripheral groove facing each other, so that the shaft can be moved in both directions. This makes it possible to actively move the shaft in both directions.
The present invention provides an actuator that increases the holding force of the shaft when not excited.
The preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the attached drawings. The dimensions, materials, and other specific values shown in the embodiment are merely examples to facilitate understanding of the invention, and do not limit the present invention unless otherwise specified. In this specification and drawings, elements that have substantially the same function and configuration are given the same reference numerals to avoid duplicated explanations, and elements that are not directly related to the present invention are not illustrated.
Figure 1 is an overall configuration diagram of the
The
Since the first
The first
Inside the central fixed
The
Figure 2 is a diagram explaining the
The
Inside the
The biasing force of the external
The white arrow in FIG. 2 indicates that the
As shown in FIG. 1, the first
Figures 3 and 4 are diagrams explaining the operation of the
Figure 3(b) is an enlarged view of the
However, as shown in FIG. 3(c), when the
In other words, in the
As shown in FIG. 4(a), when the
When the
An important operation of the
Figure 5 is a diagram explaining the case where an external force F acts on the
Therefore, in this embodiment, the
Figure 5(b) is an enlarged view of the vicinity of the outer
As described above, the outer
In this actuator, when an external force F attempts to move the
Figures 6 and 7 show the process of disengaging the rolling
Figure 6(b) is an enlarged view of the vicinity of the outer
Figure 6 (c) shows the state in which the
Figure 7(a) is an enlarged view of the vicinity of the outer
Figure 7(c) shows the state in which the engaging
Figure 7(d) shows the state in which the engaging
As described above, the
Although the preferred embodiment of the present invention has been described above with reference to the attached drawings, it goes without saying that the present invention is not limited to such an example. It is clear that a person skilled in the art can come up with various modified or revised examples within the scope of the claims, and it is understood that these also naturally fall within the technical scope of the present invention.
