投入された硬貨を金種毎に鑑別して計数した後に一時保留庫を介して金種毎に硬貨収納庫に収納するとともに、出金指令に応じた硬貨を前記硬貨収納庫から装置外に払い出す硬貨処理装置であって、
硬貨を投入する硬貨投入口と、
前記硬貨投入口から入金された硬貨を鑑別して計数する検銭部と、
前記検銭部によって鑑別された硬貨を所定一時保留枚数まで一時保留する一時保留庫と、
前記一時保留庫を介した硬貨を金種毎に振り分けて前記硬貨収納庫に収納する硬貨振分部と、
入金指令又は補充指令を受けた場合、前記硬貨投入口に入金された硬貨を前記一時保留庫に一時保留して入金動作を行った後、一時保留した硬貨を前記硬貨収納庫に収納する収納動作を行う一時保留有り入金動作モードと、入金指令又は補充指令を受けた場合、前記硬貨投入口に入金された硬貨を前記一時保留庫に一時保留せずに通過させて入金動作を行うとともに入金された硬貨を前記硬貨収納庫に収納する収納動作を行う一時保留無し入金動作モードとを有し、上位装置から前記一時保留無し入金動作モードを指示しない入金指令又は補充指令を受けた場合、前記一時保留有り入金動作モードにより入金された硬貨を前記一時保留庫に一時保留する入金動作を行い、その後一時保留した硬貨を前記硬貨収納庫に収納する収納動作を行った後、前記一時保留無し入金動作モードに切り替えて硬貨の入金動作及び硬貨の前記硬貨収納庫への収納動作を行わせる自動モード切替入金動作を行う制御部と、
