Description
本出願は、2019年10月30日に出願された米国特許出願第16/668,929号、発明の名称「Temperature Control in an Aerosol Delivery Device」、2019年10月7日に出願された米国仮特許出願第62/911,595号、発明の名称「Temperature Control in an Aerosol Delivery Device」、および2018年11月19日に出願された米国仮特許出願第62/769,296号、発明の名称「Management System for Control Functions in a Vaporization System」に対する優先権および利益を主張し、これらの全てが参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。
加熱要素における熱量および第3の熱量に基づいて、加熱期間からの、加熱要素における任意の余熱量を計算し、処理回路は、加熱要素における任意の余熱量が閾値熱量未満の量になるまで、加熱要素への出力電圧を切断したままにするように構成される、処理回路
をさらに含む。
処理回路は、加熱期間からの、加熱要素における任意の余熱量に基づいて、第2の加熱期間中の加熱要素における熱量を計算するようにさらに構成される。

上記において、TNOMは加熱要素の周囲温度または公称(nominal)温度であり、RNOMはTNOMにおける加熱要素の公称抵抗であり、TCRは加熱要素の抵抗の温度係数である。

式(3)において、TROOMは室温(例えば、20°C)を指し、RROOMはTROOMにおける加熱要素の抵抗を指す。他の例では、公称温度は、圧力センサ、マイクロコントローラユニット(MCU)、独立した負温度係数サーミスタ(NTC)、または温度を直接測定するように構成された赤外線温度センサなどの別個の構成要素を使用して決定されてもよい。公称温度がどのように決定されるかにかかわらず、処理回路は、次いで、上記のように、加熱要素の公称温度にさらに基づいて加熱要素の温度を計算するように構成されてもよい。

Claims (12)
- エアロゾル送達デバイスであって、
出力電圧を提供するように構成された電源と、
エアロゾル前駆体組成物の成分を気化させて、エアロゾルを生成するために電力を供給できる加熱要素であって、可変であり加熱要素の温度に比例する抵抗を有する、加熱要素と、
電源と加熱要素とに結合され、電源と加熱要素との間にあるスイッチと、
スイッチに結合され、加熱要素に電力を供給するために、スイッチに、加熱要素への出力電圧を切り替え可能に接続および切断させるように、加熱期間中にパルス幅変調(PWM)信号を出力するように構成された処理回路と
を備え、
PWM信号はパルスを含み、パルスにわたって加熱要素への出力電圧が接続され、パルスの間に加熱要素への出力電圧が切断され、
処理回路は、既知の電流のパルスを加熱要素に出力し、PWM信号の隣接するパルス間で、加熱要素にわたる電圧を測定するようにさらに構成され、
処理回路は、既知の電流および電圧に基づいて加熱要素の抵抗を計算し、抵抗に基づいて加熱要素の温度を計算し、温度が所定の目標から逸脱するときに、PWM信号のデューティサイクルを調整するように構成される、
エアロゾル送達デバイス。 - 処理回路がPWM信号のデューティサイクルを調整するように構成されることが、温度が所定の目標をそれぞれ下回るか上回るときに、PWM信号のデューティサイクルを増加または減少させるように構成されることを含む、請求項1に記載のエアロゾル送達デバイス。
- パルスを出力するように構成された処理回路は、PWM信号のパルス間に散在する既知の電流のパルスを出力するように構成された処理回路を含み、処理回路は、既知の電流のパルスの各々について加熱要素にわたる電圧を測定するように構成される、請求項1に記載のエアロゾル送達デバイス。
- 加熱要素に出力される既知の電流のパルスが、加熱要素にわたる電圧を生成させ、既知の電流は、その電圧が電源によって提供される出力電圧の半分未満であるように選択される、請求項1に記載のエアロゾル送達デバイス。
- PWM信号が存在せず、加熱要素への出力電圧が切断される加熱期間の外で、処理回路は、既知の電流の第2のパルスを加熱要素に出力し、加熱要素にわたる第2の電圧を測定するようにさらに構成され、
処理回路は、既知の電流および第2の電圧に基づいて加熱要素の公称抵抗を計算し、公称抵抗に基づいて加熱要素の公称温度を計算するように構成され、
処理回路は、加熱要素の公称温度にさらに基づいて加熱要素の温度を計算するように構成される、請求項1に記載のエアロゾル送達デバイス。 - 処理回路が、加熱期間中に加熱要素における熱量を計算し、加熱要素における熱量が閾値熱量よりも大きいときに、加熱要素のロックアウトを実行するようにさらに構成される、請求項1に記載のエアロゾル送達デバイス。
- 出力電圧を提供するように構成された電源と、エアロゾル前駆体組成物の成分を気化させて、エアロゾルを生成するために電力を供給できる加熱要素とを含むエアロゾル送達デバイスを制御する方法であって、加熱要素は、可変であり加熱要素の温度に比例する抵抗を有し、方法は、
パルス幅変調(PWM)信号に従って、加熱要素に電力を供給するために、加熱要素への出力電圧を切り替え可能に接続および切断することであって、PWM信号はパルスを含み、パルスにわたって加熱要素への出力電圧が接続され、パルスの間に加熱要素への出力電圧が切断される、ことと、
既知の電流のパルスを加熱要素に出力し、PWM信号の隣接するパルス間で、加熱要素にわたる電圧を測定することと、
既知の電流および電圧に基づいて加熱要素の抵抗を計算することと、
抵抗に基づいて加熱要素の温度を計算することと、
温度が所定の目標から逸脱するときに、PWM信号のデューティサイクルを調整することと
を含む、方法。 - PWM信号のデューティサイクルを調整することは、温度が所定の目標をそれぞれ下回るかまたは上回るときに、PWM信号のデューティサイクルを増加または減少させることを含む、請求項7に記載の方法。
- パルスを出力することが、PWM信号のパルス間に散在する既知の電流のパルスを出力することを含み、加熱要素にわたる電圧が既知の電流のパルスの各々について測定される、請求項7に記載の方法。
