Description
[1]窒素吸着法による細孔分布測定において、細孔の平均直径が50オングストローム以上60オングストローム以下、CuKα線を使用した粉末X線回折における、2θ=51.9±1.0°の範囲に現れる回折ピーク/2θ=19.1±1.0°の範囲に現れる回折ピークの積分強度比が、0.40以上0.50以下であるニッケル複合水酸化物。
[2]前記ニッケル複合水酸化物の、Ni:Co:Mn:Mのモル比が1-x-y-z:x:y:z(0<x≦0.15、0<y≦0.15、0≦z≦0.05、MはAl、Fe、Ti及びZrからなる群から選択される1種以上の添加元素を意味する。)で表される[1]に記載のニッケル複合水酸化物。
[3][累積体積百分率が90体積%の二次粒子径(D90)-累積体積百分率が10体積%の二次粒子径(D10)]/累積体積百分率が50体積%の二次粒子径(D50)の値が、0.80以上1.50以下である[1]または[2]に記載のニッケル複合水酸化物。
[4][1]乃至[3]のいずれか1つに記載のニッケル複合水酸化物がリチウム化合物と焼成された、非水電解質二次電池の正極活物質。
実施例1のニッケル複合水酸化物の製造
硫酸ニッケルと硫酸コバルトと硫酸マンガンとを、ニッケル:コバルト:マンガンのモル比を83.0:12.0:5.0の割合にて溶解した水溶液、硫酸アンモニウム水溶液(アンモニウムイオン供給体)及び水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を、所定容積を有する反応槽へ滴下して、反応槽内の混合液のpHを液温40℃基準で11.15、アンモニア濃度を2.2g/Lに維持しながら、撹拌羽根を備えた攪拌機により連続的に攪拌した。反応槽内は、窒素雰囲気とした。また、反応槽内の混合液の液温は70.0℃に維持した。中和反応により晶析したニッケル複合水酸化物は、反応槽内に20時間滞留させた後、反応槽のオーバーフロー管からオーバーフローさせて、懸濁物として取り出した。取り出した上記ニッケル複合水酸化物の懸濁物を、ろ過後、アルカリ水溶液(8質量%の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液)で洗浄して、固液分離した。その後、分離した固相に対して水洗し、さらに、脱水、乾燥の各処理を施して、精製された粉体状のニッケル複合水酸化物を得た。
ニッケル:コバルト:マンガンのモル比を88.5:9.0:2.5に変更した水溶液を用い、反応槽内の混合液のpHを液温40℃基準で11.08に維持した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、ニッケル複合水酸化物を製造した。
ニッケル:コバルト:マンガンのモル比を70.0:15.0:15.0に変更した水溶液を用い、反応槽内の混合液のpHを液温40℃基準で11.18、アンモニア濃度を1.5g/Lに維持した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、ニッケル複合水酸化物を製造した。
ニッケル:コバルト:マンガンのモル比を70.0:15.0:15.0に変更した水溶液を用い、反応槽内の混合液のpHを液温40℃基準で10.37に維持し、アンモニア濃度を0.0g/Lに維持(すなわち、アンモニウムイオン供給体を添加しなかった)以外は、実施例1と同様にして、ニッケル複合水酸化物を製造した。
反応槽内の混合液のpHを液温40℃基準で10.24に維持し、アンモニア濃度を0.0g/Lに維持(すなわち、アンモニウムイオン供給体を添加しなかった)以外は、実施例1と同様にして、ニッケル複合水酸化物を製造した。
応槽内の混合液のpHを液温40℃基準で10.17に維持し、アンモニア濃度を0.0g/Lに維持(すなわち、アンモニウムイオン供給体を添加しなかった)以外は、実施例2と同様にして、ニッケル複合水酸化物を製造した。
ニッケル:コバルト:マンガンのモル比を88.5:9.0:2.5に変更した水溶液を用い、反応槽内の混合液のpHを液温40℃基準で11.69アンモニア濃度を3.8g/Lに維持した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、ニッケル複合水酸化物を製造した。
組成分析は、得られたニッケル複合水酸化物を塩酸に溶解させた後、誘導結合プラズマ発光分析装置(株式会社パーキンエルマージャパン社製、Optima7300DV)を用いて行った。
粒度分布測定装置(日機装株式会社製、MT3300)で測定した(原理はレーザ回折・散乱法)。測定条件として、水を溶媒とし、分散剤としてヘキサメタリン酸ナトリウムを1mL投入、サンプル投入後の透過率は85±3%の範囲とし、超音波は発生させなかった。また、解析時の溶媒屈折率は水の屈折率である1.333を使用した。得られた累積粒度分布曲線において、小粒子側からの累積体積が10%となる点の粒子径の値がD10(μm)、50%となる点の粒子径の値がD50(μm)、90%となる点の粒子径の値がD90(μm)とし、粒度分布幅[(D90)- (D10)]/ (D50)の値を算出した。
細孔の平均直径、細孔容積は、比表面積・細孔分布測定装置(株式会社島津製作所製、トライスター)を用いて窒素吸着法での88点測定による細孔分布測定により行った。細孔の平均直径は、窒素吸着法での88点測定による細孔分布測定において測定した細孔の平均値とした。また、細孔の平均直径と細孔容積の数値は、バレットジョイナーハレンダー法を用いた。
ニッケル複合水酸化物において、CuKα線を使用した粉末X線回折測定において三方晶系空間群P-3m1に帰属する構造を含んで構成され、2θ=19.1±1.0°の範囲に現れる回折ピークの積分強度、CuKα線を使用した粉末X線回折測定における2θ=51.9±1.0°の範囲に現れる回折ピークの積分強度を、それぞれ、測定した。具体的には、粉末X線回折測定は、X線回折装置(株式会社リガク社製、UltimaIV)を用いて行った。ニッケル複合水酸化物の粉末を専用の基板に充填し、CuKα線源(40kV/40mA)を用いて、回折角2θ=5°~80°、サンプリング幅0.03°、スキャンスピード20°/minの条件にて測定を行うことで、粉末X線回折図形を得た。統合粉末X線解析ソフトウェアPDXLを用いて平滑化処理やバックグラウンド除去処理を行い、「Theophrastite,syn Ni(OH)2」を選択し同定した結果、該粉末X線回折図形から2θ=19.1±1.0°の範囲に現れる回折ピークの積分強度α、2θ=51.9±1.0°の範囲に現れる回折ピークの積分強度βを測定し、積分強度比β/αを算出した。
実施例1~6と比較例1のニッケル複合水酸化物に対し、それぞれ、水酸化リチウムをリチウム/(ニッケル+コバルト+マンガン)のモル比率1.03となるように混合し、混合物を調製した。得られた混合物について、焼成温度500℃、600℃、650℃のいずれかの温度、昇温速度120℃/Hr、焼成時間15Hr、空気流量4L/min、試料収納容器であるサヤの大きさ85mm×85mm×45mm、サヤへの充填量30gの焼成条件にて焼成して、LiとNiとCoとMnを含む酸化物である焼成品を得た。なお、焼成には、電気炉(光洋サーモシステム株式会社製、KBF894N1)を使用した。
実施例1~6と比較例1のニッケル複合水酸化物を焼成して得られた各焼成品(正極活物質)について、CuKα線を使用した粉末X線回折測定にて、焼成温度500℃、600℃、650℃である各焼成品の、2θ=36.5±1.0°の範囲に現れる回折ピークの高さを測定した。2θ=36.5±1.0°の範囲に現れる回折ピークは、LiとNiとCoとMnを含む酸化物に特有の回折ピークの一つである。なお、粉末X線回折測定は、X線回折装置(株式会社リガク社製、UltimaIV)を用いて行った。各焼成品の2θ=36.5±1.0°の範囲に現れる回折ピークの高さの結果を下記表2に示す。

- 窒素吸着法による細孔分布測定において、細孔の平均直径が50オングストローム以上60オングストローム以下、CuKα線を使用した粉末X線回折における、2θ=51.9±1.0°の範囲に現れる回折ピーク/2θ=19.1±1.0°の範囲に現れる回折ピークの積分強度比が、0.40以上0.50以下であるニッケル複合水酸化物であり、
前記ニッケル複合水酸化物の、Ni:Co:Mn:Mのモル比が1-x-y-z:x:y:z(0<x≦0.15、0<y≦0.15、0≦z≦0.05、MはAl、Fe、T i及びZrからなる群から選択される1種以上の添加元素を意味する。)で表されるニッケル複合水酸化物。 - [累積体積百分率が90体積%の二次粒子径(D90)-累積体積百分率が10体積%の二次粒子径(D10)]/累積体積百分率が50体積%の二次粒子径(D50)の値が、0.80以上1.50以下である請求項1に記載のニッケル複合水酸化物。
