Claims (5)
- 先端側から後端側へ向かって軸線に沿って延びる筒状の主体金具と、
前記主体金具の内側に絶縁保持された中心電極と、
前記主体金具に電気的に接続され、前記中心電極と自身の端部との間に火花ギャップを形成する接地電極と、
前記主体金具の先端部に接続され、前記中心電極および前記接地電極の端部を先端側から覆うと共に、前記接地電極の先端側に複数の貫通孔が形成されたキャップ部と、を備える点火プラグであって、
前記キャップ部は、前記キャップ部の内面のうち、前記複数の貫通孔の内側開口端の後端よりも先端側の部分に、後端側に向かって突出する突起を備え、
前記突起は、前記複数の貫通孔の内側開口端の後端よりも後端側まで延び、且つ、前記接地電極の前記端部よりも先端側に位置し、
前記キャップ部は、前記内側開口端の先端よりも後端側で前記突起が存在する領域の軸線方向の全長において、前記キャップ部の内径が、先端側に向かうにつれて小さくなる点火プラグ。 - 前記突起は、前記突起の先へ向かうにつれて断面積が小さくなる部位がある請求項1記載の点火プラグ。
- 前記突起は、全長に亘って前記突起の先へ向かうにつれて断面積が小さくなる請求項2記載の点火プラグ。
- 前記突起の先に曲面が形成されている請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の点火プラグ。
- 前記接地電極の前記端部と前記突起の先との間にできる隙間の大きさは、前記火花ギャップの大きさよりも大きい請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の点火プラグ。
