Description
サイリウム種皮は、高度に分岐した構造を有する多糖類をその主成分とした食物繊維素材である。本発明で用いられるサイリウム種皮としては、オオバコ科の植物プランタゴオバタ(Plantago ovata)の種子から得られる種皮(ハスク)またはその粉砕物が挙げられる。ここで、サイリウム種皮またはその粉砕物としては、サイリウム、サイリウムハスク、サイリウム種皮末、サイリウムシードガム、イサゴールなど(以下、「サイリウム種皮末」という。)として市販されているものが挙げられる。本発明において、サイリウム種皮末は、いかなる粒度、グレードのものを用いても構わないが、夾雑物が少なく、純度が高いものが好ましい。
試験食品は、水150mlにサイリウムを3.6g溶解させた飲料とした。また、対照食品(プラセボ食品)は、サイリウムを含有しない飲料とした。なお、盲検性を保つため、いずれの飲料も外観および風味による区別がつかないようにした。
負荷食品はハンバーグ180g、バターロール2個、シューストリングポテト30g(総計:731kcal、タンパク質24.4g、脂肪43.2g、炭水化物61.3g)とした。
本実施例では、試験食品とプラセボ食品ランダム化二重盲検クロスオーバー試験を行った。試験食品とプラセボ食品間のウォッシュアウト期間は22週間とした。まず、被験者76名を、スクリーニング時に性別、年齢、空腹時血中脂肪値を割付因子としたブロックランダム法により、2群にランダム割付した。被験者のスクリーニング時における一般背景は表1の通りであった。
血中に含まれるRLP-C濃度は、臨床試験機関で既存の方法を用いて分析を行った。主要評価項目はRLP-C濃度の経時変化及び台形法により算出した血中濃度曲線下面積とした。なお、試験結果は、平均値±標準誤差(SE)で示した。

- 脂肪負荷食品摂取時における血中レムナント様リポ蛋白コレステロールの濃度上昇を抑制するための食品組成物であって、サイリウム種皮を有効成分とする血中レムナント様リポ蛋白コレステロールの濃度上昇抑制用食品組成物。
- 請求項1に記載の食品組成物を含有する血中レムナント様リポ蛋白コレステロールの濃度上昇抑制用飲食品。
