Description
前記排気マニホールドに設けられた下向きに突出する取付部に、下方に向かって延びるEGRクーラの上端が取り付けられているものである。
前記切り替えバルブは、前記排気マニホールドからのEGRガスの温度が所定温度以下の場合、前記冷却部へのEGRガスの流入を阻止し、前記排気マニホールドからのEGRガスの温度が所定温度よりも高い場合、前記冷却部へのEGRガスの流入を許可するものでもよい。
初めに、図1及び図2を参照しながら、エンジン1の概略構造について説明する。なお、以下の説明では、クランク軸2と平行な両側部を左右、冷却ファン8の配置側を前側、フライホイルハウジング9の配置側を後側と、排気マニホールド6の配置側を左側、吸気マニホールド5の配置側を右側と、ヘッドカバー7の配置側を上側、オイルパン11の配置側を下側と称して、これらを便宜的に、エンジン1における四方及び上下の位置関係の基準としている。

Claims (4)
- 排気マニホールドと、吸気マニホールドと、前記排気マニホールドからのEGRガスを前記吸気マニホールドに供給するEGR装置とを備え、
前記排気マニホールドに設けられた取付部の下方に、上下方向に延びるEGRクーラが取り付けられ、
前記取付部は、前記排気マニホールドからのEGRガスを前記EGRクーラへ供給するための第1の開口と、前記EGRクーラからのEGRガスを前記排気マニホールドへ供給するための第2の開口と、を備える、エンジン。 - 前記EGRクーラから前記吸気マニホールドへ延びるEGR配管の一部が、前記排気マニホールドの内部に形成されている、請求項1に記載のエンジン。
- 前記EGRクーラは、EGRガスを冷却する冷却部と、前記冷却部へのEGRガスの流入を制御する切り替えバルブとを備え、
前記切り替えバルブは、前記排気マニホールドからのEGRガスの温度が所定温度以下の場合、前記冷却部へのEGRガスの流入を阻止し、前記排気マニホールドからのEGRガスの温度が所定温度よりも高い場合、前記冷却部へのEGRガスの流入を許可する、請求項1又は2に記載のエンジン。 - 前記EGRクーラの上端には、EGRガスが供給される供給口と、EGRガスが排出される排出口とが形成されており、前記EGRクーラは、前記供給口と前記排出口とに接続される経路を内部に備える、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のエンジン。
