Claims (20)
- 隣接するセルのリードが重なる多数のリード重畳部がカートリッジの側壁に予め決められたパターンで位置し、それぞれのセルを収納しながら積層された多数のカートリッジを含むカートリッジ組立体と、
それぞれのリード重畳部に対応し位置して溶接可能な多数のバスバーが設けられ、カートリッジ組立体の側面に配置可能なセンシングハウジングと、を備え、
それぞれのリード重畳部を構成するセルの第1リードは、第1リードと逆極性の第2リードより予め決められた幅ほど小さく構成され、カートリッジ組立体にセンシングハウジングが結合された状態で、対応するバスバーは第1リードと実質的に同一線上で第2リードに接触して第2リードとバスバーとが溶接され、
前記第1リードの幅と前記バスバーの長さの和が前記第2リードの幅と同一であることを特徴とするコンパクトな二次電池モジュール。 - 溶接作業時にセルを保護するため、それぞれのカートリッジの側面に設けられた隔壁を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュール。
- それぞれのセルのリードは、対応するカートリッジに収納された状態でリード絶縁部から約1mmの地点で直角に折り曲げられることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュール。
- 前記溶接は、レーザー溶接であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュール。
- 前記レーザーの方向は、センシングハウジングに実質的に垂直であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュール。
- バスバーと第2リードは銅で製作され、第1リードはアルミニウムで製作されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュール。
- センシングハウジングは、バスバーによって感知されるそれぞれのセルの電圧及び/または温度データを管理するためのBMS回路基板をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュール。
- センシングハウジングは、カートリッジ組立体にスナップまたはフック結合されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュール。
- センシングハウジングに結合されるセンシングカバーをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュール。
- センシングカバーは、センシングハウジングにスナップまたはフック結合されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュール。
- カートリッジ組立体の隣接する2つのカートリッジは、相互フック結合されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュール。
- カートリッジ組立体は、両端のカートリッジにそれぞれフック結合される上部カバーと下部カバーをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュール。
- (a)第1リードの幅が第2リードの幅より小さく形成された相互逆極性のリードが逆方向に折り曲げられた多数のセルを用意する段階と、
(b)隣接するセルの逆極性のリードが重なるリード重畳部がカートリッジの側壁に予め決められたパターンで位置するように、それぞれのセルが収納された多数のカートリッジを積層してカートリッジ組立体を形成する段階と、
(c)対応するバスバーが第1リードと実質的に同一線上で第2リードに接触するように、それぞれのリード重畳部に対応する多数のバスバーが設けられたセンシングハウジングをカートリッジ組立体の側面に配置する段階と、
(d)それぞれのリード重畳部の第2リードとバスバーとを溶接する段階と、を含み、
前記第1リードの幅と前記バスバーの長さの和が前記第2リードの幅と同一であることを特徴とするコンパクトな二次電池モジュールの電極リード溶接方法。 - 前記(b)段階では、第1リードと第2リードが位置するそれぞれの側面に隔壁が設けられたカートリッジを用いることを特徴とする請求項13に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュールの電極リード溶接方法。
- 前記(a)段階では、対応するカートリッジに収納された状態でセルのリード絶縁部から約1mmの地点でそれぞれのリードが直角に折り曲げられることを特徴とする請求項13に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュールの電極リード溶接方法。
- 前記(d)段階では、レーザー溶接機を使用することを特徴とする請求項13に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュールの電極リード溶接方法。
- レーザー溶接機のレーザー照射方向は、センシングハウジングに実質的に垂直であることを特徴とする請求項16に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュールの電極リード溶接方法。
- バスバーと第2リードは銅で製作され、第1リードはアルミニウムで製作されることを特徴とする請求項13に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュールの電極リード溶接方法。
- 請求項13〜請求項18のうちいずれか1項に記載の方法によって製造されたコンパクトな二次電池モジュール。
- 請求項19に記載のコンパクトな二次電池モジュールを含む二次電池パック。
