コック部材5bの主成分の樹脂は、ポリプロピレンであり、これにエルカ酸アミドを含むスリップ剤を添加した。配合比は、主成分の樹脂100質量部に対して、スリップ剤が0.5〜10質量部であった。
ボディ部材5aの外筒21にコック部材5bの内筒22を圧入して、コック装置5を組み立てた後、10日間自然放置した。
環境温度は、23℃±10°程度であった。
そして、コック部材5bを開閉するための所要操作力を測定した。
測定器としては、アイコーエンジニアリング株式会社製デジタルプッシュプルゲージMODEL−RXを用いた。この測定器のフックを閉位置のツマミ24の先端部に引っ掛けるとともに、測定器をコック装置5に対して開方向に引っ張ることで、コック部材5bが回転し始める時の引っ張り力(最大静止摩擦力)を測定した。
測定は、開閉操作を繰り返す前の初期段階と、多数回繰り返して開閉操作をした後の後期段階とで行なった。
後期段階までの開閉操作の回数は、100回であった。
その結果を表1及び表2に示す。

スリップ剤の含有量が少な過ぎると、開閉操作を繰り返した場合、開閉所要操作力が増大し、開閉し難くなった。
一方、スリップ剤の含有量がある程度の量以上になると、開閉所要操作力の増大抑制効果が飽和してスリップ剤の含有量によってはあまり影響を受けなくなった。
