Description
S8+Sn 2−→Sn+8 2−
正極活物質としてリチウム含有化合物を含む正極と、
負極活物質として硫黄含有化合物を含む負極と、
前記正極と負極との間に介在する分離膜とを含む構造体からなる電極組立体、及び前記電極組立体を電池ケースに内蔵し、電解質で含浸させた後、電池ケースを密封した構造の硫黄−リチウムイオン電池を提供する。
リチウムコバルト酸化物(LiCoO2)、リチウムニッケル酸化物(LiNiO2)などの層状化合物や、1つまたはそれ以上の遷移金属で置換された化合物;化学式Li1+yMn2−yO4(ここで、yは0〜0.33である)、LiMnO3、LiMn2O3、LiMnO2などのリチウムマンガン酸化物;リチウム銅酸化物(Li2CuO2);LiV3O8、LiFe3O4、V2O5、Cu2V2O7などのバナジウム酸化物;化学式LiNi1−yMyO2(ここで、M=Co、Mn、Al、Cu、Fe、Mg、BまたはGaであり、y=0.01〜0.3である)で表されるNiサイト型リチウムニッケル酸化物;化学式LiMn2−yMyO2(ここで、M=Co、Ni、Fe、Cr、ZnまたはTaであり、y=0.01〜0.1である)またはLi2Mn3MO8(ここで、M=Fe、Co、Ni、CuまたはZnである)で表されるリチウムマンガン複合酸化物;化学式のLiの一部がアルカリ土金属イオンで置換されたLiMn2O4;ジスルフィド化合物;Fe2(MoO4)3などを挙げることができるが、これらに限定されるものではない。
バインダーを溶媒に分散または溶解させて、バインダー溶液を製造する過程と、
前記バインダー溶液と電極活物質及び導電材を混合して、電極スラリーを製造する過程と、
前記電極スラリーを集電体上にコーティングする過程と、
電極を乾燥させる過程と、
電極を一定の厚さに圧縮する過程とを含む。
LiCoO2:Super−P(Timcal社製):PVdF(Solef社の6020)の質量比が95:2.5:2.5である固形分をN−methyl−2−pyrrolidone(NMP)溶媒に配合して、正極スラリーを製造した。これを20μmの厚さのアルミニウムホイルに塗布して、ローディング量が3mAh/cm2である正極を作製した。
カーボンパウダー:硫黄の重量比が20:80である混合物を、湿式粉砕(wet ball milling)工程を通じてカーボン、硫黄の複合体を得た。前記カーボン、硫黄の複合体80.0wt%、Super−P(導電材)10.0wt%及びPVdF(バインダー)10.0wt%の組成の正極合剤を、溶剤であるN−methyl−2−pyrrolidone(NMP)に添加して、正極スラリーを製造した後、20μmの厚さのアルミニウム集電体上にコーティングすることで、ローディング量が3.3mAh/cm2である正極を製造した。
実施例1及び比較例1で製造された電池セルに対して、温度別サイクル特性を比較した。電池セルを0.1C/0.1C充電/放電して、それぞれ100サイクルの充放電を繰り返した後、初期容量比で100サイクル時の容量維持率(%)を測定し、その結果を下記表1に示す。

- 正極活物質としてリチウム含有化合物を含む正極と、
負極活物質として硫黄含有化合物を含む負極と、
前記正極と負極との間に介在する分離膜と、
を含む構造体からなり、
前記硫黄含有化合物が、
無機硫黄、Li 2 S n (1≦n≦8)、及び有機硫黄化合物からなる群から選択される硫黄系列化合物、またはこれらの2つ以上の混合物であり、
前記分離膜上には、電池の安定性を高めるためにゲルポリマー電解質がコーティングされていることを特徴とする、電極組立体。 - 前記リチウム含有化合物が、
リチウム遷移金属酸化物、リチウム遷移金属酸化物の誘導体、リチウム遷移金属リン酸化物、及びリチウム遷移金属リン酸化物の誘導体からなる群から選択された1つまたは2つ以上であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極組立体。 - 前記正極及び負極が、導電材及びバインダーのうち少なくとも1つ以上をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記導電材の平均粒径が1.0μm以下であり、前記導電材の比表面積が10m2/g以上であることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の電極組立体。
- 請求項1に記載の電極組立体を製造する方法であって、
正極シートと負極シートとの間に分離膜シートを位置させた状態で、前記正極シート、前記負極シート及び前記分離膜シートを巻き取ることを特徴とする、ジェリ−ロール型電極組立体の製造方法。 - 請求項1に記載の電極組立体を製造する方法であって、
正極板と負極板との間に分離板が介在するように、前記正極板、前記分離板、及び前記負極板を順次積層することを特徴とする、スタック型電極組立体の製造方法。 - 請求項1に記載の電極組立体を製造する方法であって、
正極及び負極が分離膜シートを挟んで対面するように、2つ以上の正極板及び負極板を分離膜シート上に配列するか、または前記2つ以上の正極板及び負極板が分離膜を挟んで積層されているユニットセルの2つ以上を分離膜シート上に配列し、前記分離膜シートを巻き取るか、または電極板又はユニットセルの大きさに分離膜シートを折り曲げることを特徴とする、スタック/フォールディング型電極組立体の製造方法。
