Description

The present invention relates to an airbag device for a passenger seat that is provided on the passenger seat side of an automobile and includes an airbag that is inflated and deployed between an occupant and an instrument panel.

The airbag device is used for the purpose of restraining an occupant and improving safety for the occupant by inflating and deploying an air chamber of the airbag at the time of a vehicle collision. For example, an airbag device for a passenger seat of an automobile generally has a passenger's occupant facing portion of an instrument panel, or a planned door portion provided on an upper portion of the instrument panel or the like by opening the passenger's seat by the inflation pressure of the airbag. The airbag is inflated and deployed on the front to cushion and support the occupant.

In particular, in a conventional passenger airbag device, an airbag is inflated and deployed in a space surrounded by an instrument panel, a windshield (windshield), and an occupant. In this case, the position and behavior of the airbag are stabilized. For this purpose, the airbag is generally inflated and deployed along the windshield while pressing the airbag against the windshield.

By the way, in recent years, various types of vehicles have been developed, and the position and angle of the windshield have been changed according to the type and shape of the vehicle. However, if the position and angle of the windshield and the design of the instrument panel in which the passenger-side airbag device is installed vary from vehicle type to vehicle type, it is necessary to equip a dedicated airbag device for each vehicle type. is there.

In particular, when the airbag is inflated and deployed along the windshield while pressing the airbag against the windshield as described above, if the airbag collides strongly with the windshield during inflation and deployment, the airbag There is a risk that the behavior of the airbag will become unstable due to vibration in the high direction) and in the vehicle longitudinal direction (vehicle length direction). For this reason, the airbag device for the passenger seat needs to be appropriately designed for each vehicle type to be mounted, and there is a problem that it is difficult to reduce the cost of the airbag device and to make parts common.

Furthermore, with the diversification of vehicles, for example, depending on the position and angle of the windshield, the size of the airbag may be increased or the airbag may be inflated and deployed along the windshield while pressing the airbag against the windshield. In some cases, it is required to devise the shape of the air bag, which increases the cost of the air bag device and prevents the air bag device from being downsized.

In order to solve such problems, in recent years, it is conceivable to install an airbag device on the passenger seat side that can be inflated and deployed in a self-supporting manner without pressing the airbag against the windshield. ing. Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2012-144098 (Patent Document 1) discloses that an airbag that is inflated and deployed by inflating and deploying the airbag so as not to contact the windshield does not use a reaction force from the windshield. An air bag device that can be made to stand by is disclosed.

The airbag device disclosed in Patent Document 1 includes a rectifying unit that controls the flow of an inflating gas supplied from an inflator inside an airbag, and the rectifying unit includes an air bag. An opening for supplying gas to the bag and an engagement piece disposed in the vicinity of the opening are provided. Further, the engaging piece of the rectifying means can be engaged with the fixing means of the rectifying means and can be broken when the rectifying means is expanded and deployed.

According to Patent Document 1, according to the airbag device configured as described above, since the airbag can be inflated and deployed so as not to contact the windshield, various types and shapes can be used. It is said that the parts of the airbag device can be shared with the vehicle, and the cost of the airbag device can be reduced.

In the airbag device of Patent Document 1, as described above, an opening for supplying gas supplied from the inflator to the airbag is formed in advance in the rectifying means disposed inside the airbag. This makes it possible to control the direction and flow rate of the gas ejected into the airbag by the rectifying means. In this case, when gas is generated from the inflator, the generated gas is quickly ejected and diffused into the airbag via the rectifying means, thereby inflating the airbag.

However, when the opening is formed in the rectifying means in advance as in Patent Document 1, the gas generated from the inflator creates a large flow from the opening of the rectifying means from the start of inflation of the air bag, Since the air is blown into the bag, the air bag is inflated and swayed from the start of the inflating and deploying, and the air bag is likely to vibrate.

In particular, in an airbag device in which an airbag is inflated and deployed so as not to come into contact with the windshield, when the airbag is inflated and deployed, the inflation and deployment behavior of the airbag becomes unstable. In order to avoid this, it is necessary to take measures other than the windshield to prevent the vibration from increasing or to suppress the vibration. As a result, the cost of the airbag device may be increased, and the design of the airbag device may be limited.

The present invention has been made in view of the above-described conventional problems. A specific object of the present invention is to allow the airbag to be inflated and deployed so as not to contact the windshield, and during inflation and deployment. It is an object of the present invention to provide an airbag device for a passenger's seat that makes it difficult to cause vibration in the airbag, and can stably inflate and deploy the airbag with a predetermined behavior.

In order to achieve the above object, a passenger-seat airbag device provided by the present invention basically includes an inflator that generates inflation gas, an instrument panel and a front by the gas generated by the inflator. An airbag that inflates toward the space between the windshield and restrains an occupant, an inner bag disposed inside the airbag, the inflator, the airbag, and the inner bag are attached and accommodated. A housing case body, and a cover body that is disposed as an upper lid of the housing case body, and that forms an opening for inflating the airbag by rotating partly upon receiving the inflation pressure of the inner bag , The inner bag allows the gas to flow into the inside of the inflator and the airbag through the jet port. A passenger airbag apparatus for controlling the flow of the gas by ejecting within said inner bag, said gas by trapping by flowing the gas inside is ejected into the air bag A bag portion that is formed in the bag portion and can be broken by an increase in pressure of the gas confined in the bag portion, and the inner bag has the front windshield when inflated. The inner bag is temporarily inflated by confining the gas generated from the inflator in the bag portion, and a part of the instrument panel is broken by the inflation pressure of the inner bag. The opening is formed, and before the gas is ejected into the airbag, the opening is removed from the housing case body through the opening. Projecting outwardly, said root portion of said air bag formed by further inflated by the gas inlet portion near the inner airbag, after the formation of the root portion, the breakable portion by increasing the pressure of the gas in the bag portion There the spout unit to the bag portion cutaway is formed, it is an most important feature to become the start of the ejection of the gas into the air bag.

In the passenger seat airbag device according to the present invention, it is preferable that the planned break portion is disposed on a surface of the bag portion on the vehicle traveling direction side.
Moreover, it is preferable that the said fracture | rupture planned part is comprised by the slit provided in the base fabric which forms the said bag part. On the other hand, the said breakable part may be comprised by the sewing which can be broken.

In the airbag device for a passenger seat according to the present invention, an inner bag that allows gas generated from an inflator to flow into the airbag and ejects it into the airbag via the ejection port is disposed inside the airbag. The bag has a bag portion that traps gas by flowing in and a breakable portion that is formed in the bag portion. In addition, the inner bag has a jet port portion formed by breaking the planned breakage portion due to an increase in pressure of the gas trapped in the bag portion, and starts jetting gas into the airbag through the jet port portion. .

According to the airbag device for a passenger seat of the present invention having such an inner bag, when the airbag is inflated and deployed, the inflation gas generated from the inflator is first supplied into the bag portion of the inner bag. And the airbag that encloses the inner bag.

At this time, the inflating gas flowing into the bag portion of the inner bag is not ejected from the bag portion into the airbag, but is confined in the bag portion and stored in the inner bag. In this way, gas is confined in the bag portion, and the inner bag is inflated in the vicinity of the gas inflow portion inside the airbag, thereby firmly forming the base portion of the airbag and stably supporting the inflating and deploying airbag. Can do.

Furthermore, in the airbag device for a passenger seat according to the present invention, the pressure of the gas trapped in the bag portion rises as the inflation gas continues to be supplied (inflowed) into the bag portion of the inner bag, and the gas pressure in the bag portion increases. When the size is larger than a predetermined size, the planned breakage portion is broken and a gas outlet is formed in the inner bag. Thereby, gas blows out into the airbag from the ejection port portion of the inner bag, and the airbag can be inflated and deployed. In the present invention, the magnitude (breaking strength) of the gas pressure for breaking the portion to be broken depends on the type and shape of the vehicle on which the airbag device is mounted, the capacity of the inflator, the size and shape of the airbag, and the like. Can be changed arbitrarily.

That is, in the present invention, when the airbag is inflated and deployed, the gas generated from the inflator does not immediately flow into the airbag, but the inner bag is temporarily inflated in the vicinity of the gas inflow portion in the airbag to The portion can be firmly formed, and then the inner bag can be partially broken, and the airbag can be inflated and deployed by flowing gas into the airbag through the inner bag.

In this way, after the base portion of the airbag is firmly formed with the inner bag, the airbag is inflated and deployed by injecting gas from the inner bag and inflating and deploying the airbag. Gas can be prevented from spouting directly into the airbag at the start, leading to a significant increase in manufacturing costs and without major restrictions on the design of the airbag device, It is possible to prevent the airbag being inflated and deployed from vibrating due to the above.

In addition, the base of the airbag is firmly formed by the expansion of the inner bag, and then gas is spouted from the inner bag into the airbag, so that the airbag does not come into contact with the windshield and is in a self-supporting state. It can be stably inflated and deployed in a predetermined shape. Further, in this case, even if the gas is vigorously ejected into the airbag from the outlet formed in the inner bag, the base of the airbag is already formed firmly. Direction vibration).

In such a passenger seat airbag device of the present invention, the breakable portion of the inner bag is arranged on the surface of the bag portion on the vehicle traveling direction side. As a result, when the jet port portion is formed in the inner bag and gas is jetted from the jet port portion into the airbag, the jet gas is directed into the airbag from the vehicle front side toward the vehicle rear side. The airbag can be stably inflated and deployed with a predetermined behavior while being supplied in a flow that largely rotates along the inner surface of the airbag. Further, by inflating and deploying the airbag in this way, it is possible to make it difficult for vibration (particularly vibration in the vehicle height direction) to be generated in the inflated and deployed airbag.

Moreover, in this invention, the fracture | rupture plan part of an inner bag is comprised by the at least 1 slit provided in the base fabric which forms a bag part. As a result, it is possible to easily form the planned fracture portion in the bag portion of the inner bag at low cost, and to suppress variations in the performance of the inner bag when mass-producing the airbag. Furthermore, when gas accumulates in the bag portion of the inner bag and the gas pressure increases, the portion to be broken can be stably broken, and the jet port portion can be reliably formed in the inner bag.

Furthermore, in this invention, the fracture | rupture scheduled part of an inner bag may be comprised by the part formed by the sewing which can break a bag part. This also makes it possible to easily form the planned break portion in the bag portion of the inner bag. Moreover, when gas accumulates in the bag portion of the inner bag and the gas pressure increases, the planned break portion can be stably broken and the jet port portion can be reliably formed in the inner bag.

The present invention is not limited to the examples described below, and various modifications can be made as long as it has substantially the same configuration as the present invention and has the same effects. Is possible. For example, the shape, dimensions, and the like of each member constituting the airbag device can be arbitrarily changed depending on the type of vehicle in which the airbag device is used.

Here, FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view illustrating a state in which the passenger seat airbag device according to the present embodiment is installed on the instrument panel. FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing an inner bag arranged in the airbag of the airbag apparatus, and FIG. 3 is a plan development view of a base fabric constituting the inner bag.

In the following description, the vertical direction is the vehicle height direction, the upper direction is the ceiling side direction, and the lower direction is the ground side direction. The front-rear direction is the vehicle length direction, the front is the direction of the vehicle traveling side, and the lower side is the direction of the vehicle retreating side. Moreover, the left-right direction is the vehicle width direction of the vehicle, and refers to the left-right direction when an occupant seated in the passenger seat looks forward.

The airbag device 10 of the present embodiment is configured as a passenger seat airbag device, and is disposed on the back surface side of the passenger seat side upper surface portion facing the passenger seat occupant of the instrument panel 2 of the automobile 1. A front windshield 4 is disposed above the instrument panel 2.

In this case, a tear line 2a is formed on the back surface side of the passenger seat side upper surface portion of the instrument panel 2, and the tear line 2a is broken by receiving the inflation pressure of the airbag 11, and is surrounded by the tear line 2a. Is opened while rotating like a double door as a door, thereby forming an opening through which the airbag 11 can be inflated in the instrument panel 2.

Further, a cover body 3 of the airbag device 10 is fixed to the back surface side of the upper surface portion on the passenger seat side of the instrument panel 2 so as to cover the airbag 11 in a storage case body 12 described later of the airbag device 10. By attaching to the case, it functions as a case upper lid of the airbag device 10.

The cover body 3 is made of synthetic resin or elastomer, and is arranged so as to surround the flat door reinforcing portion 3a fixed to the portion forming the door portion of the instrument panel 2 and the door reinforcing portion 3a. A frame portion 3b, a hinge portion 3c that connects the rotation base end portion of the door reinforcement portion 3a and the frame portion 3b while being bent in a curved shape, and a cylinder that is suspended from the frame portion 3b toward the airbag device 10 side. And a peripheral wall portion 3d.

In addition, the peripheral wall 3d of the cover body 3 is provided with a locking hole 3e capable of locking the hook portion 12a provided in the housing case body 12. In the present invention, the instrument panel 2 and the cover body 3 are not limited to the configuration of the present embodiment, and those conventionally used can be appropriately selected and used.

As will be described later, the airbag apparatus 10 of the present embodiment places the airbag 11 toward the front windshield 4 toward a space surrounded by the passenger seated in the passenger seat, the front windshield 4 and the instrument panel 2. It is comprised so that it may expand | swell and expand in the state which became independent without making it contact.

Here, inflating and deploying in a state where the airbag 11 is self-supporting means that the airbag 11 is inflated and deployed in a predetermined shape in the above-described space without using a reaction force due to contact with the front windshield 4. . In the present invention, the airbag 11 that is inflated and deployed does not necessarily have to be self-supporting, and may be inflated and deployed while the airbag 11 is in contact with the windshield as in the conventional airbag device. Even when the bag 11 is brought into contact with the front windshield 4, since the reaction force due to contact with the front windshield 4 is small, the airbag 11 can be inflated and deployed in a substantially self-supporting state. is there.

The airbag apparatus 10 of the present embodiment includes an airbag 11 that is folded according to a predetermined procedure, an inner bag 20 that is disposed inside the airbag 11, a housing case body 12 that houses the airbag 11, and an inflating device. The housing case body 12 includes an inflator 13 for generating gas and a retainer (not shown) on which a plurality of stud bolts are suspended, and the airbag 11, the inner bag 20, and the inflator 13 are fixed by the retainer. Is attached.

The airbag 11 is formed in a bag shape by sewing a plurality of base fabrics, for example. In the present invention, the material of the base fabric constituting the airbag 11 is not particularly limited, and a base fabric of the same material as the base fabric used in the conventional airbag can be used.

A base opening portion serving as a gas inflow portion of the airbag 11 is formed at a mounting opening (not shown) into which the inflator 13 can be inserted and attached, and a peripheral portion of the mounting opening, and a stud bolt of the retainer is inserted therethrough. Possible bolt insertion holes (not shown) are formed. The airbag 11 is provided with a vent hole (not shown) that exhausts the gas in the airbag 11 to absorb the impact when an occupant contacts the inflated airbag 11.

As shown in FIG. 2, the inner bag 20 disposed inside the airbag 11 has a bag portion 21 capable of trapping gas therein, and the bag portion 21 includes a bag portion. 21 is formed in the planned break portion 22 that can be broken by the pressure increase of the gas confined in 21, the attachment opening 23 in which the inflator 13 can be inserted and attached, and the peripheral portion of the attachment opening 23. A bolt insertion hole 24 through which the stud bolt of the retainer can be inserted is formed.

As described above, since the fracture portion 22 is formed in the bag portion 21 of the inner bag 20, the gas generated from the inflator 13 can be temporarily confined in the bag portion 21 until the fracture portion 22 is broken. Therefore, the momentum of gas can be suppressed in the bag portion 21. Further, by increasing the pressure of the gas in the bag portion 21 and causing the fracture portion 22 to break, the gas jet port portion 25 can be formed in the bag portion 21 (see FIG. 5). The airbag 11 can be inflated by injecting the gas in the bag portion 21 into the airbag 11 through the ejection port portion 25.

In this case, the planned fracture portion 22 is constituted by a slit (slit) provided in a first base fabric 21a to be described later that forms the bag portion 21, and the planned fracture portion (slit) 22 is formed on the bag portion 21. It is provided in a straight line along the vehicle width direction on the front surface portion facing the front side (vehicle traveling direction side).

In the present invention, the position of the planned fracture portion 22 and the shape of the planned fracture portion 22 are not particularly limited. For example, the position of the planned fracture portion 22 is shifted above or below the position shown in FIG. Moreover, it is also possible to provide the planned fracture portion 22 not only on the front surface portion of the bag portion 21 but also on the left and right side portions. Furthermore, it is also possible to provide the planned fracture portion 22 only on the left and right side surfaces and the rear surface portion of the bag portion 21. Further, in the present invention, for example, the slit serving as the planned fracture portion 22 is not in the vehicle width direction but in the vehicle height direction. It is also possible to provide the slit along the vehicle width direction or obliquely with respect to the vehicle width direction. In addition, the slit is not provided in a straight line, but in a wavy shape curved or bent in a zigzag shape, or in a circular or rectangular shape. It is also possible to provide the shape.

The bag portion 21 of the inner bag 20 in this embodiment has a substantially cross-shaped first base cloth 21a and a rectangular second base cloth 21b as shown in FIG. By sewing the first and second base fabrics 21a and 21b, a three-dimensional shape close to a vertically long rectangular weight is formed. In addition, although the material of the 1st base fabric 21a and the 2nd base fabric 21b which comprises the bag part 21 is not specifically limited, the base fabric of the same material as the airbag 11 can be used.

The substantially cross-shaped first base fabric 21a has a ceiling portion arranged at the center portion, and four extending pieces extending from the ceiling portion to the front, rear, left and right in a cross shape. The four extending pieces One of the portions is provided with a slit (cut) that constitutes the planned fracture portion 22. The rectangular second base fabric 21b is provided with the mounting opening 23 and the bolt insertion hole 24 described above.

When the bag portion 21 is formed using the first base fabric 21a and the second base fabric 21b, the central portion of the substantially cross-shaped first base fabric 21a forms the ceiling portion of the bag portion 21. The side edge of each extending piece extending in a cross shape from the central portion and the side edge of another extending piece facing the side edge are sewn together, and the tip of each extending piece The edge is sewn with the corresponding side edge of the second base fabric 21b. Thereby, the bag part 21 which has the three-dimensional shape shown in FIG. 2 can be formed.

In the present embodiment, the size of the bag portion 21 of the inner bag 20 is preferably set so that the volume in the bag portion 21 is 150% or more of the volume of the housing case body 12. Since the size of the bag portion 21 is set in this way, gas is generated from the inflator 13 to inflate the inner bag 20 as will be described later, so that the gas is ejected from the inner bag 20 into the airbag 11. Before the airbag 11 can be easily pushed upward from the housing case body 12 together with the inner bag 20, the base portion (gas inflow side base end portion) of the airbag 11 can be firmly formed.

On the other hand, the size of the bag portion 21 of the inner bag 20 is preferably set so that the volume in the bag portion 21 is 1/2 or less, particularly 1/3 or less, of the volume in the airbag 11. As a result, it is possible to break the planned breakage portion 22 of the inner bag 20 within a predetermined time after the gas is generated in the inflator 13, and to stably form the gas ejection port portion 25. It can be expanded and deployed quickly by the behavior of

The housing case body 12 of the present embodiment is formed in a box shape whose upper surface side is open. Hook portions 12a are respectively provided on the front surface portion and the rear surface portion of the housing case body 12, and by locking these hook portions 12a in locking holes 3e provided in the peripheral wall portion 3d of the cover body 3, The housing case body 12 can be attached to the cover body 3 and attached to the back side of the instrument panel 2.

Further, a mounting opening (not shown) into which the inflator 13 can be inserted and attached is provided on the bottom surface portion of the housing case body 12, and a stud bolt of the retainer is inserted into the peripheral portion of the mounting opening. A possible bolt insertion hole (not shown) is formed.

The inflator 13 has a main body portion 13a having a substantially cylindrical outer shape and a mounting piece portion 13b extending outward from the main body portion 13a. A stud bolt of a retainer can be inserted into the mounting piece portion 13b. A bolt insertion hole (not shown) is formed. Further, a gas outlet 13c is provided on the side peripheral surface of the upper half portion of the main body 13a of the inflator 13.

The inflator 13 has a retainer stud in the bolt insertion hole portion of the mounting piece portion 13b in a state where the upper end portion having the gas jet port 13c of the main body portion 13a is inserted into the inner bag 20 disposed in the airbag 11. Bolts are inserted and fixed to the bottom surface of the housing case body 12 together with the airbag 11 and the inner bag 20.

The inflator 13 is connected to an electronic control unit (not shown) and is controlled based on measurement values from an acceleration sensor or the like. In an emergency where the electronic control unit senses or predicts a collision or sudden deceleration of the automobile 1, the inflator 13 is ignited by the ignition current from the electronic control unit, and the medicine stored in the inflator 13 is burned to expand the inflator 13. By generating a gas and ejecting the gas from the gas outlet 13c, the inflation gas is supplied into the airbag 11 (particularly, the inner bag 20). In addition, the shape and fixing method of the inflator 13 are not limited, and those conventionally used can be appropriately selected and used.

The passenger seat airbag apparatus 10 having the above-described configuration is assembled as follows.
First, a retainer (not shown) is inserted into the inner bag 20, and stud bolts of the retainer are inserted into the bolt insertion holes 24 formed in the inner bag 20 and the airbag 11, whereby the inner bag 20 and the air bag are inserted into the retainer. The bag 11 is held.

At this time, in the present embodiment, when the airbag device 10 is attached to the instrument panel 2 as described later, the inner portion of the inner bag 20 is designed such that the planned fracture portion 22 provided on the bag portion 21 faces the front side. Align the direction of the bag 20. The retainer and the inner bag 20 can be attached to a predetermined position of the airbag 11 before the airbag 11 is formed into a bag shape by sewing a base fabric.

Next, the airbag 11 is folded according to a predetermined procedure with the inner bag 20 and the airbag 11 held by the retainer. At this time, the inner bag 20 is folded together with the airbag 11 when the airbag 11 is folded. In addition, the folding method of the airbag 11 can select and employ | adopt arbitrarily the folding method used conventionally.

Subsequently, by inserting the stud bolts of the retainer holding the inner bag 20 and the airbag 11 into the bolt insertion hole portion of the accommodation case body 12 and the bolt insertion hole portion of the inflator 13, the accommodation case body 12 is inserted into the retainer. And the inflator 13 are attached in order. Thereafter, the airbag 11, the inner bag 20, and the inflator 13 are fixed to the housing case body 12 by attaching and tightening nuts to the stud bolts of the retainer.

At this time, the upper end portion of the inflator 13 having the gas outlet 13c is inserted into the bag portion 21 of the inner bag 20 through the mounting case body 12, the airbag 11, and the mounting openings 23 of the inner bag 20. The As a result, the gas outlet 13c of the inflator 13 and the bag portion 21 of the inner bag 20 communicate with each other.

By performing the assembling work according to the above-described procedure, the airbag 11, the inner bag 20, and the inflator 13 are fixed to the housing case body 12 by the retainer without directly stitching the airbag 11 and the inner bag 20. Therefore, the airbag apparatus 10 of the present embodiment is assembled integrally.

Then, the airbag apparatus 10 of the present embodiment assembled as described above is inserted into the cover body 3 fixed to the back side of the instrument panel 2 so as to be lifted from below, thereby accommodating the housing case body 12. The front and rear hook portions 12 a provided on the cover body 3 are engaged with the locking holes 3 e of the cover body 3. Furthermore, the bottom surface of the housing case body 12 is fixed to the structural member of the vehicle body via a bracket (not shown). Thereby, the airbag apparatus 10 is attached to the back side of the instrument panel 2.

As described above, the airbag device 10 of the present embodiment attached to the rear surface side of the passenger seat side upper surface portion of the instrument panel 2 is an inflator when, for example, the automobile device 1 collides and the airbag device 10 is activated. The inflation gas is generated from 13, and the inflation gas is first continuously supplied into the inner bag 20. Thereby, the inner bag 20 is inflated by the supplied gas, and the gas is confined in the bag portion 21 of the inner bag 20. Here, confining the gas means a state in which the gas is substantially confined in the inner bag 20. For example, the gas may leak somewhat from a sewing part or the like.

Further, when the inner bag 20 is inflated, the airbag 11 is inflated, and the tear line 2a formed on the back surface side of the instrument panel 2 is broken by receiving the inflation pressure of the inner bag 20 to form a plurality of door portions. Is done. Subsequently, each formed door portion is rotated outward about the hinge portion 3c by the inflating pressure of the inner bag 20, so that the airbag 11 is attached to the instrument panel 2 as shown in FIG. Is formed.

At this time, the gas is continuously supplied from the inflator 13 into the bag portion 21 of the inner bag 20 so that the inner bag 20 protrudes outward through an opening formed in the instrument panel 2 while being inflated. At the same time, the airbag 11 can be pushed out of the housing case body 12.

Further, once the gas is temporarily stored in the bag portion 21 of the inner bag 20 and the inner bag 20 swells in the vicinity of the gas inflow portion inside the airbag 11, the base portion of the airbag 11 can be firmly formed. In FIG. 4, the fractured portion 22 of the inflated inner bag 20 is shown by a thin line for easy understanding.

After that, since the gas pressure gradually increases in the bag portion 21 of the inner bag 20, when the gas pressure in the bag portion 21 becomes larger than a predetermined size, the bag portion 21 is formed as shown in FIG. The slit (scheduled break portion 22) is broken to form a gas outlet 25 in the inner bag 20.

Thereby, since gas spouts into the airbag 11 from the jet nozzle part 25 of the inner bag 20, the airbag 11 can be inflate-deployed. At this time, in the present embodiment, the airbag 11 to be inflated and deployed is arranged so as to be inflated and deployed independently with a space from the front windshield 4.

Thus, in this embodiment, the gas generated from the inflator 13 does not flow immediately into the airbag 11 immediately after the gas is generated, but the inner bag 20 is temporarily inflated in the vicinity of the gas inflow portion in the airbag 11. After the root portion of the airbag 11 is firmly formed, the planned fracture portion 22 of the inner bag 20 is broken and the airbag 11 is inflated and deployed. For this reason, gas is prevented from being directly ejected into the airbag 11 at the start of inflation and deployment of the airbag 11, and vibration (particularly vibration in the vehicle length direction) is prevented from occurring in the airbag 11 that is inflated and deployed. it can.

Further, in the present embodiment, the slit that becomes the planned fracture portion 22 is provided on the front surface portion of the bag portion 21 (the base fabric surface facing the vehicle traveling direction side) as described above, so that the gas is supplied to the inner bag 20. From the inside of the nozzle, it ejects toward the front side (vehicle traveling direction side) through the ejection port portion 25 formed by breaking the slit.

As a result, as shown in FIG. 6, the gas ejected into the airbag 11 greatly rotates along the inner surface of the airbag 11 from the vehicle front side to the vehicle rear side in the airbag 11. 11 can be inflated. As a result, the airbag 11 is prevented from inflating toward the passenger seat or toward the feet of the passenger seat, and the airbag 11 is inflated and deployed stably with a predetermined behavior. It is possible to make it difficult for the airbag 11 to generate vibration (particularly vibration in the vehicle direction).

As described above, according to the passenger seat airbag device 10 of the present embodiment, the inner bag 20 having the bag portion 21 that traps gas inside and the planned break portion 22 formed in the bag portion 21 is an airbag. 11, when the airbag 11 is inflated and deployed, the inner bag 20 is first inflated to firmly form the base portion of the airbag 11, and the gas is confined in the interior to The gas is ejected into the airbag 11 after weakening the momentum.

As a result, while the inflated inner bag 20 stably supports the airbag 11 at the base portion of the airbag 11, the airbag 11 can be quickly and stably inflated and deployed with a predetermined behavior, and the airbag to be inflated and deployed. 11 can be prevented from vibrating. Therefore, the airbag 11 can be stably inflated and deployed in a predetermined shape in a self-standing manner in the space surrounded by the instrument panel 2, the front windshield 4 and the occupant without contacting the front windshield 4. be able to.

For this reason, the passenger | crew seated in the passenger seat can be reliably restrained with the airbag 11 inflated and deployed in a predetermined shape, and the safety of the passenger can be secured stably. Further, since the passenger seat airbag device 10 of the present embodiment can be inflated and deployed in a self-supporting state, it can be mounted on the automobile 1 of various types and shapes. Cost can also be reduced. Furthermore, by inflating and deploying the airbag 11 without relying on the front windshield 4, the capacity of the airbag 11 and the output of the inflator 13 can be reduced, and the airbag 11 can be downsized. .

In addition, in this invention, the magnitude | size and shape of the bag part 21 of the inner bag 20, the shape of the base fabric which comprises the bag part 21, the shape and structure of the fracture | rupture planned part 22 formed in the bag part 21 are especially limited Rather, it can be changed arbitrarily.

For example, in the embodiment described above, the planned breaking portion 22 of the inner bag 20 is formed by a slit. However, in the present invention, the bag portion may be formed by a breakable sewing portion. It is also possible to constitute the planned fracture portion by partially weakening the strength of the stitched portion of the base fabric forming the bag portion.

Here, a modified example of the inner bag will be described with reference to FIGS. In the following modifications, members and parts having substantially the same configuration as the airbag device 10 according to the above-described embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals, and description thereof is omitted.

The inner bag 30 shown in FIG. 7 has a bag portion 31 capable of trapping gas inside, and the bag portion 31 is linearly formed along the vehicle width direction on the front surface portion of the bag portion 31. The formed planned fracture portion 32, the mounting opening 23, and the bolt insertion hole 24 are arranged.

In this case, the planned fracture portion 32 is constituted by a stitched portion in which two base fabrics are folded outward and the base end portions of the folded folded pieces are stitched together. Compared to the other stitched portions of the bag portion 31, the strength of the stitched portion is weakened by weakening the sewing thread, roughening the seams, and the like.

Therefore, the inner bag 30 according to this modification is inflated by the inflation gas generated from the inflator 13, and is formed in the bag portion 31 when the gas pressure in the expanding bag portion 31 becomes larger than a predetermined size. The breakable portion 32 (weakly stitched portion) is broken to form a gas jet port portion in the inner bag 30, and gas can be jetted into the airbag 11 from the jet port portion.

The bag portion 31 of the inner bag 30 according to such a modified example sews a substantially cross-shaped first base fabric and a rectangular second base fabric in the same manner as the bag portion 21 in the above-described embodiment. Although the first base fabric itself is formed in a three-dimensional shape, the two base fabric pieces constituting the first base fabric are sewn together in advance with the weakly stitched stitches constituting the planned fracture portion 32. Formed to be.
Even in the passenger seat airbag device including the inner bag 30 shown in FIG. 7, the same effects as those of the airbag device 10 according to the above-described embodiment can be obtained.

The inner bag 40 shown in FIG. 8 has a bag portion 41 capable of trapping gas inside, and the bag portion 41 is linearly formed along the vehicle width direction on the front surface portion of the bag portion 41. The formed planned fracture portion 42, the mounting opening 23, and the bolt insertion hole 24 are arranged.

In this case, the planned break portion 42 is constituted by a stitched portion in which two base fabrics are folded inward and the base end portions of the folded pieces are stitched together. The stitching portion constituting the planned fracture portion 42 is formed by reducing the strength of the stitching portion by weakening the strength of the sewing thread, roughening the seams, etc., compared to the other stitching portions of the bag portion 41. ing.

The inner bag 50 shown in FIG. 9 has a bag portion 51 capable of trapping gas inside, and the bag portion 51 is linearly formed along the vehicle width direction on the front surface portion of the bag portion 51. The formed planned fracture portion 52, the mounting opening 23, and the bolt insertion hole 24 are arranged.

In this case, the planned break portion 52 is constituted by a stitched portion in which two base fabrics are folded inward and the peripheral portions of the folded pieces are stitched together. The stitching portion constituting the planned breakage portion 52 is formed by reducing the strength of the stitching portion by weakening the strength of the sewing thread, roughening the seams, etc., compared to the other stitching portions of the bag portion 51. ing.
Even in the passenger seat airbag apparatus including the inner bags 40 and 50 shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, the same effects as those of the airbag apparatus 10 according to the above-described embodiment can be obtained.

The inner bag 60 shown in FIGS. 10 and 11 has a substantially spherical bag portion 61 capable of trapping gas inside, and the bag portion 61 has a vehicle width on the front surface portion of the bag portion 61. The planned break portion 62 formed along the direction, the mounting opening 23, and the bolt insertion hole 24 are arranged. Further, the bag portion 61 of the inner bag 60 according to this modified example has a substantially spherical three-dimensional shape by overlapping two circular base fabrics and sewing the peripheral portions of the overlapped base fabrics. It is formed in a simple shape.

In this case, a first stitching portion 63 that sews the entire circumference of the two base fabrics and a second stitch that sews the two base fabrics except for a part of the entire circumference are provided at the peripheral edge portions of the two base fabrics. A stitched portion 64 is formed. In addition, the first stitching portion 63 is formed with a lower strength than the second stitching portion 64 by weakening the strength of the sewing thread, roughening the seam, or the like.

Therefore, in the inner bag 60 according to this modification, the arc portion that is sewn only by the first stitching portion 63 and not the second stitching portion 64 is scheduled to be broken, of the peripheral portions of the two base fabrics. It is formed as a part 62. Even in the passenger seat airbag device including such an inner bag 60, the same effect as the airbag device 10 according to the above-described embodiment can be obtained.

In the above-described embodiments and modifications, the inner bag is formed by sewing a plurality of base fabrics having a predetermined shape. However, in the present invention, the plurality of base fabrics are bonded with an adhesive material or the like. An inner bag may be formed by pasting together, or an inner bag may be formed using a bag weave.
