Description
The present invention relates to an electronic compass and a method for adjusting the electronic compass.
The electronic azimuth meter measures the geomagnetic azimuth using a geomagnetic sensor and displays the measurement result on an arbitrary display. At this time, the electronic azimuth meter may be provided with an analog display such as a pointer for driving an electric motor for displaying the azimuth measurement result itself and other information. For example, when the electronic azimuth meter also has a function as an analog display timepiece, it is provided with an hour / minute hand driven by an electric motor. Here, the analog display means that information is displayed by the posture of the mechanical member, that is, the position and rotation angle thereof, and so-called rotary pointers, disks, retrogrades, etc. are analogs referred to in this specification. It is a display.
In general, a step motor is used to drive an analog display such as an electronic compass and the rotor is magnetized. Therefore, when the rotor position changes, the direction of the magnetic field generated by the rotor changes, and the measurement result of the geomagnetic sensor varies depending on the rotor position. Therefore, the electronic compass measures the magnetic field generated according to the rotor position in advance, and obtains the measurement result that eliminates the influence of the rotor by subtracting the magnetic field caused by the rotor from the measurement result of the geomagnetic sensor. ing. The work of measuring in advance the magnetic field generated according to the rotor position is called offset adjustment.
In this regard,
In the technique disclosed in
A considerable amount of time is required to measure all the combination patterns of the rotor of the step motor of the electronic azimuth meter. This time increases exponentially as the function of the electronic compass is complicated and the number of stepper motors increases. For example, if the number of stepping motors used is 2 and the number is n, the number of rotor combination patterns is 2n .
As a result, the adjustment of the electronic azimuth meter occupies the geomagnetic simulator for a long time, which decreases the productivity of the electronic azimuth meter and increases the cost.
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and an object thereof is to make it possible to easily adjust a geomagnetic sensor in an electronic azimuth meter without occupying a geomagnetic simulator for a long time.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.

FIG. 2 is a system block diagram of the
The
The
The second adjustment is a gain adjustment of the
First, an offset adjustment method of the
When performing the offset adjustment, first, the
Subsequently, the worker houses the
Since an external magnetic field does not enter the
In the present embodiment, the offset adjustment start condition is that the

After the time required for offset adjustment of the

First, when a predetermined push button operation is performed as indicated by
Thereafter, it is assumed that the
After the offset adjustment is completed, the
FIG. 5 is a flowchart of processing executed by the
First, the
If the
In the subsequent step S06, geomagnetism measurement by the
In step S08, it is determined whether or not the rotor position selection in step S05 has been performed for all rotor positions. If all the rotor positions have not been selected, the process returns to step S05 to change the rotor position and repeat the geomagnetic measurement. If all the rotor positions have been selected, the process proceeds to step S09.
In step S09, it is determined again whether or not the
In either case, the process proceeds to step S12 to cancel the offset adjustment mode. Here, whether or not the offset adjustment mode is set may be explicitly recorded by storing a flag indicating the offset adjustment mode at an arbitrary address in the nonvolatile memory 17 or the
In the above-described embodiment, the offset adjustment start condition detection unit is the
Then, the gain adjustment method of the
When performing gain adjustment, first, the
Subsequently, the worker houses the
In gain adjustment, it is necessary to obtain a gain correction value for two non-parallel directions of the
Therefore, in the present embodiment, the
First, the
In the present embodiment, the predetermined time in the pre-adjustment dark detection is 3 seconds. After the dark detection before adjustment is performed, the measurement by the
Pre-measurement light detection, pre-measurement dark detection, and gain measurement are automatically executed by the
Further, the
Theoretically, gain adjustment is possible if measurement is performed for magnetic fields in two non-parallel directions, so gain adjustment may be terminated here, but in this embodiment, in order to reduce measurement errors, Furthermore, the measurement is performed for the magnetic field in the other direction. That is, the
When the generation and measurement of the magnetic field by the
The operator confirms that the time necessary for gain adjustment has elapsed, or takes out the
FIG. 7 is a time chart for explaining the operation of the
First, when a predetermined push button operation is performed as indicated by
Thereafter, it is assumed that the
The
In the pre-measurement light detection indicated by
When dark detection before measurement is performed, the
The
When the necessary number of gain measurements are completed, as indicated by
