Description

The present invention relates to a printing and bookbinding apparatus that appropriately binds a cover image without cutting the cover image even when the cover image and the text image are rotated and printed.

The printing apparatus applies ink to a sheet cut to a predetermined size based on a print job including image data of a document (hereinafter simply referred to as a document) and setting information for printing the document. And print.

At this time, if the size of the document is smaller than the size of the paper, a margin may be generated around the printed image.

In order to prevent this, Patent Document 1 describes a technique related to an image processing apparatus that reduces or maps an original on the upper left of the paper when the size of the original is different from that of the paper.

Here, in the case of a document having many solid print portions at the top part (front end) of the paper, if the printing apparatus prints it as it is, the top part of the paper curls due to moisture contained in the ink, and paper jam occurs. There is a problem that the case where it cannot be conveyed occurs.

In the case of a document having many solid print portions in the TOP portion of the printing paper, it is conceivable to reduce the document by using the conventional technique described in Patent Document 1 described above so that paper jam does not occur. However, when the original is reduced in this way, the printed image is naturally small and difficult for the user to see.

In view of this, it is conceivable to rotate the document by 180 degrees so that a paper jam does not occur in the case of a document having many solid print portions in the TOP portion of the printing paper.

As described above, when the original is rotated 180 degrees, a bookbinding apparatus that generates a booklet by connecting a body sheet on which a body image is printed with a cover sheet on which a cover image is printed is connected to the printing apparatus on the downstream side. In some cases, booklets could not be generated properly.

Usually, in a bookbinding apparatus in which a bookbinding apparatus is connected to the above-described printing apparatus, a booklet is generated by wrapping various numbers of body sheets with various sheet sizes. For this reason, large-size cover sheets are set in the printing bookbinding device, and they are adjusted to an appropriate size by cutting them into a U-shape including the rear edge of the cover sheet according to the paper size and number of sheets of body text. doing.

Therefore, if the original is rotated 180 degrees including the position of the cover sheet in units of paper, there may be a problem that an image on which the original is printed is also cut.

The present invention has been made in view of such a problem, and provides a printing and bookbinding apparatus that appropriately binds a book without cutting the cover image even when the cover image and the body image are rotated up and down. With the goal.

In order to achieve the above object, a first feature of a printing and bookbinding apparatus according to the present invention is a printing and bookbinding apparatus that generates a booklet by wrapping a text sheet on which a text image is printed with a cover paper on which a cover image is printed. The body image is printed on the body paper based on the body image data based on the bookbinding job, the cover image is printed on the cover paper based on the cover image data, and the cover image is printed by the printing section. A cutting section that cuts a rear end side of the cover sheet, and when the cover sheet is larger than the size of the cover original, the cover image and the body text based on a print rate of a front end portion and a rear end portion of the cover original An image rotation determination unit that determines whether to rotate the image up and down, and a case where the image rotation determination unit determines that the cover image and the body image are to be rotated up and down The cover image is rotated up and down so that its rear end is located at the front end of the cover paper, while the body image is rotated up and down so that its front end is located at the rear end of the body paper and An image rotation processing unit that performs image processing that rearranges the order in reverse order, and the cover image and the body image that have been subjected to image processing by the image rotation processing unit are printed on the cover sheet and the body sheet by the printing unit, respectively. And a printing cutting control unit for controlling the cutting unit so as to cut the cover sheet.

In addition, a second feature of the printing and bookbinding apparatus according to the present invention is that the image rotation determination unit is configured such that the cover document and the body text are based on a printing rate of a front end portion and a rear end portion of the cover document and the body document. When the printing rate of the leading edge of any one of the documents is equal to or greater than a predetermined threshold, the maximum printing rate of the leading edge and the maximum printing rate of the trailing edge of the cover document and the text document are compared. When the maximum printing rate at the leading end is larger than the maximum printing rate at the trailing end, it is determined that the cover image and the body image are rotated up and down.

According to the first feature of the printing and bookbinding apparatus according to the present invention, whether or not the image rotation determination unit rotates the cover image and the body image vertically based on the print ratios of the leading edge and the trailing edge of the cover document. If the image rotation processing unit determines that the cover image and the body image are to be rotated up and down by the image rotation determination unit, the cover image is rotated up and down so that the rear end portion is positioned at the front end portion of the cover sheet. On the other hand, the body image is rotated up and down so that the leading edge is located at the trailing edge of the body paper, and image processing is performed to rearrange the page order, and the cutting section is larger than the size of the cover original. In this case, the cover sheet that has been rotated as described above is cut.

Therefore, even if the cover image is larger than the size of the cover document and the cover image and body image are rotated and printed, the cover image is cut when the cover paper on which the cover image is printed is cut during bookbinding. Can be prevented. In addition, since the order of the text sheets on which the text images are printed can be optimally changed, it is possible to generate a booklet that has been properly printed and processed.

According to the second feature of the printing and bookbinding apparatus according to the present invention, the image rotation determination unit determines whether the cover document or the text document is based on the print rate of the leading edge and the trailing edge of the cover document and the text document. If the leading edge print rate is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold, compare the maximum print rate at the leading edge and the maximum print rate at the trailing edge of the cover document and the text document. When it is larger than the maximum printing rate at the rear end, it is determined that the cover image and the body image are rotated up and down. Therefore, if the coverage of the leading or trailing edge of the text document is greater than the coverage of the leading or trailing edge of the cover document, and the text paper is more likely to curl than the cover paper, Regardless of the print ratio of the leading edge and the trailing edge, curling of the text sheet can be reliably prevented without rotating the cover sheet and the text sheet as described above.

Hereinafter, the printing bookbinding apparatus 1 of Examples 1 and 2 according to the present invention will be described. In addition, the printing bookbinding apparatus 1 of the Example which concerns on this invention demonstrated below is an example of the printing bookbinding apparatus which concerns on this invention, and can be suitably changed within the range of the technical idea of this invention.
(Example 1 according to the present invention)
FIG. 1 is a configuration diagram illustrating a configuration of a printing and bookbinding apparatus 1 according to a first embodiment of the present invention.

As shown in FIG. 1, the printing and bookbinding apparatus 1 according to the first embodiment of the present invention is connected to a terminal device 2 such as a personal computer via a network 3, and includes a paper feeding unit 11, a printing unit 12, and a cutting unit 13. A case binding unit 14, an operation unit 15, a control unit 16, a bookbinding job storage unit 17, a program storage unit 18, a communication I / F unit 19, and the like.

The paper supply unit 11 supplies paper to the printing unit 12 and supplies text paper for printing a text image and cover paper for printing a cover image. Here, the vertical and horizontal sizes of the cover paper are larger than the vertical and horizontal sizes of the cover original on which the cover image to be printed on the cover paper is written, and the cover original on which the cover image is described is the cover. After printing on the paper, as shown in FIGS. 3A to 3C, which will be described later, the rear end side of the paper, that is, the downstream side in the transport direction is cut into a U-shape to make the sizes uniform. Note that the text size of the text paper and the text document on which the text image to be printed on the text paper is substantially the same.

The printing unit 12 forms an image by ejecting ink from an ink head of each color such as black, cyan, magenta, yellow, etc., for example, and a text document included in a bookbinding job received from a terminal device. Based on the image data of the cover original, the body image is printed on the body sheet based on the body image data, and the cover image is printed on the cover sheet based on the cover image data. The printing unit 12 is not limited to the ink jet type, but may be stencil printing or laser printing.

The cutting unit 13 cuts the downstream side (rear end side) of the cover sheet on which the display image is printed by the printing unit 12 with the size of the case binding cover sheet.

The case binding unit 14 performs case binding processing for generating a booklet by wrapping a text sheet on which a text image is printed with a cover paper on which a cover image is printed.

The operation unit 15 is provided with various operation buttons such as a power button of the apparatus 1 and a touch panel for displaying an operation state of the apparatus 1 such as a printing state and an error message.

The control unit 16 is composed of a CPU and the like, and controls the operation of the entire apparatus 1 by executing an operation program stored in the program storage unit 18 and, as will be described later, an image rotation determination unit of the present invention. 16a, functions as an image rotation processing unit 16b and a print cutting control unit 16c.

The image rotation determining unit 16a has a printing rate (hereinafter referred to as a TOP portion printing rate) of a TOP portion (tip portion) that is a predetermined range such as several centimeters from the front end of the cover original, and a few centimeters from the rear end of the cover original. The print ratio of the END portion (rear end portion), which is a predetermined range of (hereinafter referred to as the END portion print ratio), is calculated, and the cover image and the body image are rotated up and down based on these print rates, that is, 180 degrees. It is determined whether or not to rotate.

When the image rotation determination unit 16a determines that the cover image and the body image are rotated by 180 degrees, the image rotation processing unit 16b moves the cover image up and down in units of images so that the rear end portion is positioned at the front end portion of the cover sheet. Rotation, that is, only the image on the cover document is rotated 180 degrees, while the body image is rotated up and down by paper unit, that is, rotated 180 degrees including the body document, so that the leading edge of the body image is located at the rear end of the body paper. Then, image processing for rearranging the page order in reverse order is performed.

When the cover sheet is larger than the size of the cover document, the printing cutting control unit 16c causes the printing unit 12 to print the cover image and the body image that have been image-processed by the image rotation processing unit 16b on the cover sheet and the body sheet, respectively. Thereafter, the cutting unit 13 is controlled to cut only the cover sheet.

The bookbinding job storage unit 17 stores a bookbinding job received from the terminal device.

The program storage unit 18 stores an operation program for the control unit 16.

Next, the operation of the printing and bookbinding apparatus 1 configured as described above will be described with reference to a flowchart.

FIG. 2 is a flowchart showing the operation of the printing and bookbinding apparatus 1 according to the first embodiment of the present invention.

First, when receiving a bookbinding job from the terminal device 2 via the network 3 and the communication I / F unit 19, the control unit 16 stores the bookbinding job in the bookbinding job storage unit 17 and starts the processing illustrated in FIG. . That is, the control unit 16 executes the operation program stored in the program storage unit 18 and first functions as the image rotation determination unit 16b, and functions as a TOP unit (leading edge) within a predetermined range such as several centimeters from the leading edge of the cover document. Part) printing rate (hereinafter referred to as the TOP part printing rate) and the END part (rear end part) printing rate (hereinafter referred to as the END part printing rate) within a predetermined range such as several centimeters from the rear end part of the cover document. (Step S110), it is determined whether or not the calculated TOP portion printing rate in the cover document is equal to or greater than a predetermined threshold (step S130).

Here, if the TOP portion printing rate on the cover document is equal to or higher than a predetermined threshold (step S130 “YES”), the control unit 16 further determines whether the TOP portion printing rate on the cover document is larger than the END portion printing rate on the cover document. Is determined (step S150).

When the TOP portion printing rate of the cover original is larger than the END portion printing rate of the cover original (step S150 “YES”), when the image data of the cover original is printed on the cover paper, the TOP portion is higher than the END portion of the cover paper. The portion has more solid portions of ink and becomes higher in density, and is more likely to curl, and a transport error such as paper jam is likely to occur.

Therefore, the control unit 16 functions as the image rotation determination unit 16b and rotates the cover image up and down in units of image so that the rear end portion is located at the front end portion of the cover sheet, that is, the cover image without rotating the original sheet. Only the image is rotated 180 degrees (step S170), and the body image is rotated up and down by a unit of paper so that the leading end of the body image is located at the rear end of the body paper, that is, the body image is rotated 180 degrees including the position of the original paper. At the same time, reverse order processing is performed in which the document data is replaced so as to print from the last page to the first page (step S190).

As a result, according to the printing and binding apparatus 1, since the cover image is rotated by 180 degrees without rotating the original paper for the cover image, the TOP portion of the cover paper has more solid ink than the END portion. It is possible to prevent the occurrence of a conveyance error such as a paper jam due to curling, and the cover paper is cut as shown in FIG. 3B to be described later, and the cover image together with the cover paper as shown in FIG. Can be prevented from being cut.

On the other hand, when the TOP portion printing rate on the cover document is equal to or lower than a predetermined threshold (step S130 “NO”), or when the TOP portion printing rate on the cover document is equal to or lower than the END portion printing rate on the cover document (step S150 “NO”). The control unit 16 does not execute the reverse processing in the following step S210 without executing the 180 degree rotation process for each cover image in step S170 and the 180 degree rotation process for each body image in step S190. Shift to subsequent processing. Therefore, in this case, as shown in FIG. 3A to be described later, the cover image on the cover original is not rotated by 180 degrees and is printed from the top side of the cover sheet.

Then, the control unit 16 causes the printing unit 12 to print the body image on the body paper (step S210) and to print the cover image on the cover paper (step S230).

Next, the control unit 16 functions as the print cutting control unit 16c to detect the thickness of the sheet bundle printed by the printing unit 12 in step S230, that is, the thickness of the entire body sheet (step S250), and the cover sheet The length is detected by a double feed sensor or the like (step S270).

Further, the control unit 16 calculates the cut amount of the cover sheet from the thickness of the sheet bundle detected in step S250 as the print cutting control unit 16c and the length of the cover sheet detected in the process of step S270 (step S290). Based on the calculated cut amount, the cutting unit 13 is controlled to cut the cover sheet (step S310), and the case binding unit 14 executes the case binding process (step S330).

FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a state in which a cover image of the letter A in the cover original CD is printed on a large cover paper CP and cut by the printing bookbinding apparatus 1 according to the first embodiment of the present invention. The cover image is printed without being rotated and cut, (b) is the cover image rotated 180 degrees for each image, and (c) is the cover image rotated 180 degrees for each sheet. FIG. 6 is a diagram illustrating a state where a cover image is cut.

As described above, FIG. 3A shows a case where the TOP portion printing rate of the cover original CD is less than a predetermined threshold or the TOP portion printing rate of the cover original CD is smaller than the END portion printing rate. In this case, the cover image of the cover original CD is printed from the top side of the cover sheet CP without executing the 180 degree rotation process for each cover image. In this case, as shown in FIG. 3A, when the cutting unit 13 cuts the downstream side of the cover sheet CP into a U-shape, the letter A which is the cover image printed on the cover sheet CP is not cut. In FIGS. 3A to 3C, the hatched portion of the cover sheet CP is a cut portion.

FIG. 3B shows a case where the cover image is rotated 180 degrees in image units when the TOP portion printing rate on the cover original CD is equal to or higher than a predetermined threshold and the TOP portion printing rate on the cover original CD is larger than the END portion printing rate. This shows the state of printing. In this case, when the cutting unit 13 cuts the downstream side of the cover sheet CP into a U shape as shown in FIG. 3B, the characters of the cover image A printed on the cover sheet CP are not cut. Therefore, even if there is a lot of black solid in the TOP portion of the cover original CD and curling is likely to occur on the cover paper CP if it is printed as it is, it is possible to prevent the cover paper CP from curling by rotating 180 degrees in image units. Can be prevented.

FIG. 3C shows a state in which the cover image is printed by rotating the cover image by 180 degrees in units of paper, and in this case, the cover paper CP can be prevented from curling, but the entire paper is the paper. Therefore, there is a problem that the letter A as the cover image is cut. However, in the printing and binding apparatus 1 according to the first embodiment of the present invention, for the cover image having a cover image having a size different from that of the cover original CD, the 180 degree rotation process in units of sheets as shown in FIG. Without performing this, 180 degree rotation processing in units of images as shown in FIG.

Therefore, according to the printing and binding apparatus 1 of the first embodiment of the present invention, when the cover image original size and the paper size are different and the cover paper is cut after printing, the TOP portion coverage and END on the cover original. If the TOP part printing rate is equal to or greater than a predetermined threshold and the TOP part printing rate in the cover original is larger than the END part printing rate based on the part printing rate, 180 degrees for each cover image in step S170. The rotation process and the 180-degree rotation process for the body image of the body image in step S190 and the reverse order process are executed.

Therefore, when the TOP portion printing rate is equal to or higher than a predetermined threshold and the TOP portion printing rate on the cover document is larger than the END portion printing rate, when the cover image is printed as it is, the cover paper is likely to be curled. However, in the printing and bookbinding apparatus according to the first embodiment of the present invention, the cover image is rotated in units of images, that is, only the cover image is rotated by 180 degrees without rotating the original paper. Therefore, curling of the cover sheet can be prevented, and the cover image printed on the cover sheet can be prevented from being cut (cut).

When the cover image is rotated by 180 degrees in the unit of the cover image by the process of step S170, the main body image of the body document is 180 pages by the process of S190. In addition, since the reverse order process is performed in which the original data is replaced so that printing is performed from the last page to the first page, the text image can be efficiently printed even if the text image is rotated 180 degrees.
(Example 2 according to the present invention)
Next, the printing bookbinding apparatus 1 of Example 2 which concerns on this invention is demonstrated. The printing and bookbinding apparatus 1 according to the second embodiment of the present invention controls the rotation by 180 degrees in consideration of not only the printing ratios of the TOP part and the END part in the cover original but also the printing ratios of the TOP part and the END part in the main body original. . The configuration itself of the printing and bookbinding apparatus 1 according to the second embodiment of the present invention is the same as the configuration of the printing and bookbinding apparatus 1 according to the first embodiment of the present invention shown in FIG. 1, and the control operation of the control unit 16 is different. Therefore, referring to the configuration of the printing and bookbinding apparatus 1 of the first embodiment according to the present invention in FIG. 1, a characteristic operation among the operations of the control unit 16 in the printing and bookbinding apparatus 1 of the second embodiment according to the present invention. The explanation will be focused on.

FIG. 4 is a flowchart showing the operation of the printing and bookbinding apparatus 1 according to the second embodiment of the present invention. In addition, the same step number is attached | subjected to the same step as the flowchart which shows operation | movement of the printing bookbinding apparatus 1 of Example 1 which concerns on this invention shown in FIG. 2, and the description shall be abbreviate | omitted.

First, when receiving a bookbinding job from the terminal device 2 via the network 3, the control unit 16 stores the bookbinding job in the bookbinding job storage unit 17 and starts the processing shown in FIG. That is, first, it functions as the image rotation determination unit 16b and calculates the printing ratios of the TOP part and the END part in the cover original and the text original, respectively (step S410). Note that the method for calculating the TOP portion printing rate and the END portion printing rate in the text document is the same as the method for calculating the printing rates of the TOP portion and the END portion in the cover document.

Next, the control unit 16 according to the second embodiment of the present invention functions as the image rotation determination unit 16b, and among the TOP part printing rate of the cover document and the TOP part printing rate of each body document calculated in step S410. It is determined whether or not the maximum TOP portion printing rate is equal to or greater than a predetermined threshold (step S430). In other words, in the second embodiment according to the present invention, unlike the first embodiment according to the present invention in which the TOP section printing rate on the cover document is compared with a predetermined threshold, the value of the TOP section printing ratio in the text document is also taken into consideration. It is determined whether or not to perform the 180-degree rotation process.

In step S430, when the maximum TOP section printing rate of the cover document and the body document is equal to or larger than a predetermined threshold (step S430 “YES”), the control unit 16 further covers all the calculated TOP section printing rates. The maximum TOP portion printing ratio MAX T among the TOP portion printing ratios in the text document, and the maximum END portion printing ratio MAX E among the END portion printing ratios in the cover document and the text document which are all calculated END portion printing ratios. Are compared (step S450).

Therefore, in the printing and binding apparatus 1 according to the second embodiment of the present invention, even if the TOP portion printing rate of the cover document is less than a predetermined threshold, if the TOP portion printing rate of any body document is equal to or higher than the predetermined threshold. Depending on the determination results in steps S450 and S470 described below, the 180-degree rotation process in steps S170 and S190 is executed.

When the maximum TOP portion printing rate MAX T is larger than the maximum END portion printing rate MAX E among the cover document and the body document (step S450 “MAX T > MAX E ”), the control unit 16 displays the cover image. Only the cover image is rotated 180 degrees without rotating the image unit, that is, the original paper (step S170), and the text image is rotated 180 degrees including the position of the paper unit, that is, the original paper, and the final page. Then, reverse order processing is performed in which the document data is replaced so as to print on the first page (step S190).

On the other hand, when the maximum TOP portion printing rate MAX T among the TOP portion printing rates of the cover document and the body document is equal to the maximum END portion printing rate MAX E among the END portion printing ratios of the cover document and the body document ( In step S450 “MAX T = MAX E ”), the control unit 16 determines whether or not the TOP portion printing rate of the cover document is larger than the END portion printing rate of the cover document (step S470). The determination in step S470 is for determining that the one having a substantially lower printing rate is TOP. When comparing the TOP portion printing rate MAX T and the END portion printing rate MAX E , some differences are ignored. For example, when the difference is within 5%, it can be regarded as equal.

If the TOP part printing rate on the cover document is larger than the END part printing rate on the cover document (step S470 “YES”), the maximum TOP part printing rate MAX T among all data is the maximum among all data in step S450. As in the case where it is determined that the printing rate is larger than the END portion printing rate MAX E (“MAX T > MAX E ”), the 180 ° rotation processing for each cover image in step S170 and the body image in step S190 are performed. The 180 degree rotation process and the reverse order process for each sheet are executed, and the process proceeds to the process after step S210 in the first embodiment according to the present invention shown in FIG.

On the other hand, if the TOP portion printing rate of the cover document is equal to or lower than the END portion printing rate of the cover document (“NO” in step S470), the cover image is rotated 180 degrees in image units in step S170, and the body image in step S190. The process proceeds to the next step S210 and subsequent steps without executing the 180 degree rotation process and the reverse order process for each sheet.

Next, specific examples of the TOP portion print ratio and the END portion print ratio in the cover original CD and the text originals BD1 to BD3 bound by the printing bookbinding apparatus 1 according to the second embodiment of the present invention, and 180 degrees based on the print ratios. The rotation process will be described by showing four patterns.
<Pattern 1>
FIG. 5 shows an example of pattern 1.

In the pattern 1 shown in FIG. 5, the TOP part printing rate of the text document BD1 is 70%, the END part printing rate is 10%, the TOP part printing rate of the text document BD2 is 90%, the END part printing rate is 20%, and the text document. The TOP portion printing rate of BD3 is 60%, and the END portion printing rate is 95%. Further, the TOP portion printing rate on the cover original CD is 95%, and the END portion printing rate is 50%.

Therefore, if the predetermined threshold value of the determination process in step S430 is 80%, in step S430, either the TOP part printing rate of the cover original CD or the TOP part printing rate of the text originals BD1 to BD3 has a predetermined threshold of 80. 90% of the TOP portion printing rate of the body document BD2, 95% of the END portion printing rate of the body document BD3, and 95% of the TOP portion printing ratio of the cover document CD. Is 80% or more of the predetermined threshold value, it is determined “YES” in the determination process of step S430, and the process proceeds to the determination process of step S450.

In the determination processing in step S450, the TOP portion printing is performed in order to compare the maximum TOP portion printing ratio MAX T and the maximum END portion printing ratio MAX E among the TOP portion printing ratios in the cover original CD and the body originals BD1 to BD3. A comparison is made between 95% of the TOP portion printing rate of the cover original CD with the rate MAX T and 95% of the END portion printing rate of the body document BD3 with the END portion printing rate MAX E.

Then, since these values are equal, it is determined that “MAX T = MAX E ” in the determination process of step S450, and the process proceeds to the determination process of step S470.

In the determination processing in step S470, it is determined whether or not the TOP portion printing rate of the cover original CD is larger than the END portion printing rate of the cover original CD, and the TOP portion printing ratio of the cover original CD is 95%> the END portion of the cover original CD. Since the printing rate is 50%, it is determined as “YES”, and the 180 degree rotation process for each cover image in step S170 and the 180 degree rotation process for each body image in step S190 and the reverse order process are performed. After the execution, the process proceeds to the printing and bookbinding processing after step S210.

As described above, in the case of the pattern 1, not only the TOP part printing rate and the END part printing rate in the cover original CD but also the TOP part printing rate and the END part printing rate in the text originals BD1 to BD3 are taken into consideration. The image is rotated 180 degrees for each image, and the text image in the text originals BD1 to BD3 is rotated 180 degrees for each paper, so that the cover paper on which the cover image is printed can be prevented from curling and the cover image can be prevented from being cut. In addition, curling of the body paper on which the body images of the body documents BD1 to BD3 are printed can be prevented.
<Pattern 2>
FIG. 6 shows an example of pattern 2.

In the pattern 2 shown in FIG. 6, the TOP portion printing rate of the text document BD1 is 70%, the END portion printing rate is 10%, the TOP portion printing ratio of the text document BD2 is 90%, the END portion printing rate is 20%, and the text document. The TOP portion printing rate of BD3 is 40%, and the END portion printing rate is 80%. Further, the TOP portion printing rate on the cover original CD is 30%, and the END portion printing rate is 90%.

Therefore, if the predetermined threshold value in the determination process in step S430 is 80%, the determination process in step S430 results in 90% of the TOP part print rate of the text document BD2 and 80% of the END part print rate of the text document BD3. Since 90% of the END portion printing rate in the cover document CD is 80% or more of the predetermined threshold value, “YES” is determined in the determination process of step S430, and the process proceeds to the determination process of step S450.

In the determination process of step S450, the cover original is similarly 90% of the TOP part print rate of the text original BD2 having the maximum TOP part print rate MAX T among the TOP part print rates of the cover original CD and the text originals BD1 to BD3. Of the END portion printing ratios of the CD and the text original documents BD1 to BD3, the maximum END portion printing ratio MAX E is compared with 90% of the END portion printing ratio of the cover original CD, and “MAX T = MAX E ” is determined. Then, the process proceeds to the determination process in step S470.

In the determination processing in step S470, since the TOP section printing rate of the cover original CD is 30%> the END section printing ratio of the cover original CD is 90%, it is determined as “NO” and 180 in cover image units in step S170. Without executing the degree rotation process and the 180 degree rotation process for the body image of the body image in step S190 and the reverse order process, the process proceeds to the printing and bookbinding process after step S210.

As described above, in the case of the pattern 2, even when the TOP portion printing rate is higher than the END portion printing rate as in the case of the main body document BD2, and the cover portion original CD has the TOP portion printing rate substantially equal to the END portion printing rate. If it is smaller than the END portion printing rate, the 180 degree rotation process for each cover image in step S170 and the 180 degree rotation process for each body image in step S190 are not performed in reverse order. Since the process proceeds to the printing and bookbinding process after step S210, curling of the cover image can be prioritized and prevented even when there is a possibility of curling of the body image.
<Pattern 3>
FIG. 7 shows an example of the pattern 3.

In the pattern 3 shown in FIG. 7, the TOP part printing rate of the text document BD1 is 70%, the END part printing rate is 10%, the TOP part printing rate of the text document BD2 is 95%, the END part printing rate is 20%, and the text document The TOP portion printing rate of BD3 is 60%, and the END portion printing rate is 85%. Further, the TOP portion printing rate on the cover original CD is 60%, and the END portion printing rate is 50%.

Therefore, if the predetermined threshold value in the determination process in step S430 is 80%, the determination process in step S430 determines that 95% of the TOP part printing rate of the text document BD2 and 85% of the END part printing rate of the text document BD3 are predetermined. Therefore, in the determination process of step S430, “YES” is determined, and the process proceeds to the determination process of step S450 as in the case of patterns 1 and 2.

In the determination processing in step S450, 95% of the TOP portion printing rate of the body document BD2 having the maximum TOP portion printing rate MAX T among the TOP portion printing ratios in the cover document CD and the body documents BD1 to BD3, and the maximum in them. Compared with 85% of the text document BD2 having the END portion printing rate MAX E, it is determined that “MAX T > MAX E ”, and the determination process in step S470 does not proceed, but the cover image in step S170 in image units. After executing the 180 degree rotation process and the 180 degree rotation process for the body image of the body image in step S190 and the reverse order process, the process proceeds to the printing and bookbinding process after step S210.

Thus, in the case of pattern 3, the maximum TOP portion printing rate MAX T among the TOP portion printing rates in the cover original CD and the text originals BD1 to BD3 is larger than the maximum END portion printing rate MAX E in them. Even when the TOP portion printing rate MAX T is the text document BD2, the cover image and text image rotation processing in step S170 and step S190 is executed. Therefore, curling of the body paper 2 can be prevented, and cutting of a cover image printed on the cover paper can be prevented.
<Pattern 4>
FIG. 8 shows an example of the pattern 4.

In the pattern 4 shown in FIG. 8, the TOP part printing rate of the text document BD1 is 70%, the END part printing rate is 10%, the TOP part printing rate of the text document BD2 is 80%, the END part printing rate is 20%, and the text document The TOP portion printing rate of BD3 is 60%, and the END portion printing rate is 95%. Further, the TOP portion printing rate on the cover original CD is 80%, and the END portion printing rate is 50%.

Therefore, if the predetermined threshold value in the determination process in step S430 is 80%, the determination process in step S430 causes the TOP part print rate of the text document BD2 to be 80% and the END part print rate of the text document BD3 to be 95%. Since 80% of the TOP portion printing rate in the cover document CD is 80% or more of the predetermined threshold value, “YES” is determined in the determination process in step S430, and the process proceeds to the determination process in step S450.

In the determination processing of step S450, 80% of the TOP portion printing ratio of the text document BD2 and the cover document CD, which is the maximum TOP portion printing ratio MAX T among the TOP portion printing ratios of the cover document CD and the text documents BD1 to BD3, Compared with 95% of the text document BD3 which has the maximum END portion printing rate MAX E among them, “MAX T <MAX E ”, so that the cover image and text image rotation processing in step S170 and step S190, etc. The process proceeds directly to the printing and bookbinding processing in step S210 and thereafter without executing the above.

As described above, in the case of the pattern 4, the END portion printing rate MAX E is the case of the body document BD3, and the TOP portion printing rate on the cover document CD is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold and larger than the END portion printing rate. However, the rotation processing of the cover image and the body image in step S170 and step S190 is not executed. As a result, curling of the text sheet 3 that is most likely to curl out of the cover original CD and the text originals BD1 to BD3 can be reliably prevented.
