Description

The present invention relates to a vinyl chloride resin composition for radiation sterilization for medical use. More specifically, it has excellent discoloration resistance to a method of sterilization by irradiation with radiation such as γ-rays or electron beams (hereinafter sometimes abbreviated as radiation sterilization), and is an elution required for medical materials Since there is no problem in the sexuality test and the bleed resistance is excellent, it is preferably used for medical instruments such as medical tubes, medical bags, medical infusion sets or medical blood circuit joint members, and medical containers. The present invention relates to a medical radiation sterilization compatible vinyl chloride resin composition.

Medical parts must be (1) not harmful to the human body due to elution of heavy metals, etc. (2) easy to use in the medical field, (3) sterility is maintained until use, (4) It is necessary to be able to confirm the state of the internal liquid.

In recent years, sterilization of medical parts can be performed at a high level and can be sterilized after packing, which can speed up sterilization and reduce costs. So-called radiation sterilization, such as a sterilization method using a wire (hereinafter sometimes abbreviated as γ-ray sterilization) and a sterilization method using an electron beam, is widely used. In particular, γ-ray sterilization is widespread because γ-ray permeability is large and sterilization can be performed uniformly and without lot fluctuation. However, γ-ray sterilization has a problem in that it tends to cause color change and cracks in irradiated medical parts.

Of course, γ-ray sterilization cannot be applied to those that cause cracks due to γ-ray sterilization, but in the case of medical parts, even color changes can cause medical accidents such as component mistakes. Because of the possibility, it is not preferred to apply gamma sterilization to such.

Currently, soft vinyl chloride resin compositions are frequently used in soft medical parts such as dialysis circuit tubes, catheters, blood bags, and infusion bags. In addition, various medical parts used in connection with medical parts such as dialysis circuit tubes, for example, hard vinyl chloride resin compositions for hard medical parts such as syringes, tube connecting members, branch valves, speed control parts, etc. Is frequently used.

Techniques for improving the discoloration resistance to γ-ray sterilization of rigid medical parts comprising a rigid vinyl chloride resin composition include “an ether-containing adipate or glutamate having a molecular weight of less than about 2000 phr to about 2 phr to about 20 phr. And a rigid polyvinyl chloride component comprising about 0.2 phr to about 5 phr of butylated hydroxytoluene "has been proposed. Further, as a technique for improving the discoloration resistance against γ-ray sterilization of a soft vinyl chloride resin composition, “as a ratio to the total weight, -PVC resin 50 to 75%, and at least one alkyl ester of -adipic acid 20 to 45%, at least one lubrication selected from the group consisting of epoxidized triglycerides, 2.5-4.5% stabilizer, and one selected from the group consisting of calcium salts and zinc salts Or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) comprising 0.6 to 1.5% of two or more stabilizers and 0 to 0.1% of at least one lubricant selected from the group consisting of polyolefin waxes A method is proposed in which the composition is used for the production of substances made of biocompatible materials with the aim of increasing the resistance of the produced product to transmitted light irradiation. " Document 2). However, although these techniques improve the discoloration resistance against γ-ray sterilization, the bleed resistance is not sufficient.

Evaluation method 1. Evaluation of radiation discoloration resistance (ΔYI value) (1) A sheet was prepared from a vinyl chloride resin composition obtained below using a test roll, and this was further molded into a 2 mm-thick press sheet using a press device and tested. A sample was used. Two test samples were prepared.
(2) About the test sample obtained above, yellowness (YI value) before irradiation was measured using a computer color matching system (manufactured by Sumika Color Co., Ltd.) in accordance with JIS K7105.
(3) Next, one of the test samples was irradiated with 20 KGy of γ rays using cobalt 60 as a radiation source, and the other was irradiated with 40 KGy. After irradiation, the sample was allowed to stand for 3 days under constant temperature and humidity conditions (23 ° C., 50% relative humidity). This is because the colored yellowing of the test sample gradually proceeds for a while after irradiation, so that the color is stabilized.
(4) Thereafter, the YI value of the post-irradiation sample was measured by the same method as described above, and each post-irradiation YI value was obtained. As an evaluation index for the degree of discoloration, the degree of yellowing (ΔYI value) defined by the following formula was calculated.
ΔYI value = (YI value after irradiation) − (YI value before irradiation)

2. Evaluation of radiation elution resistance (1) The test sample is the same as in 1. above. What was created by the same method as the measurement of radiation-proof discoloration (ΔYI value) was used.
(2) The polyvinyl chloride resin compound I standard of the medical plastics test standard established by the Japan Medical Equipment Association for the test sample before irradiation with γ-ray and the test sample after irradiation with 40KGy of γ-ray with cobalt 60 as the radiation source In accordance with the above, ΔpH and ultraviolet absorption spectrum were measured.
(3) That is, the test sample was cut into 3 mm squares, precisely weighed in a predetermined amount, put into a hard glass container, and extracted by heating at 121 ° C. for 1 hour. A predetermined amount of the extract was precisely weighed to prepare a test solution. A blank was prepared by performing the same operation as above except that no test sample was added.
(4) The hydrogen ion exponent (pH) of the test solution obtained above and the hydrogen ion exponent (pH) of the blank were measured, and the difference (ΔpH) was calculated.
(5) Further, the maximum value of the absorbance of the ultraviolet absorption spectrum at a wavelength of 220 to 350 nm of the test solution obtained above and the maximum value of the absorbance of the ultraviolet absorption spectrum at a wavelength of 220 to 350 nm of the blank are measured, and the difference (ΔUV) Was calculated.
(6) As described above, ΔpH and ΔUV of the test sample before γ-ray irradiation and ΔpH and ΔUV of the test sample after 40 KGy irradiation of γ-ray were obtained. (7) About ΔpH, before irradiation and after irradiation. In any case, 1.5 or less was judged to be acceptable.
(8) For ΔUV, 0.1 or less was determined to be acceptable before and after irradiation.

3. The evaluation test sample for bleed resistance is the above-mentioned 1. What was created by the same method as the measurement of radiation-proof discoloration (ΔYI value) was used. After irradiating the test sample with gamma rays, 10 people touched it with their fingers to test the presence or absence of stickiness, and evaluated according to the following criteria according to the number of people who had stickiness.
○: 0 people △: 1-3 people ×: 4 people or more
