ここで、「インナー側の転動体のアウター側の位置」とは、インナー側の転動体におけるアウター側の最も外側の位置を意味する。
図1は、本発明に係る車輪用軸受装置の第1の実施形態を示す縦断面図、図2は、図1の要部拡大図、図3は、内輪の突当面積/内径と内輪の押し込み限界の関係を示すグラフ、図4は、内輪を模式的に表した模式図、図5は、軸受のフリクションと軸受の加締後のすきまとの関係を示す模式図である。なお、以下の説明では、車両に組み付けた状態で車両の外側寄りとなる側をアウター側(図1の左側)、中央寄り側をインナー側(図1の右側)という。
なお、σは応力、εは歪み、Eは鋼のヤング率、Fは軸力、Aは内輪の断面積、ΔLは内輪の変形量、L0は内輪の幅寸法である。
これを図4に当てはめると、すきま減少に関わる内輪5の変形は、(F×L1)/(A1×E)で表すことができる。なお、A1={(h1+d)2−d2}π/4

Claims (4)
- 外周に車体に取り付けられるための車体取付フランジを一体に有し、内周に複列の外側転走面が一体に形成された外方部材と、
一端部に車輪を取り付けるための車輪取付フランジを一体に有し、外周に前記複列の外側転走面に対向する一方の内側転走面と、この内側転走面から肩部を介して軸方向に延びる小径段部が形成されたハブ輪、およびこのハブ輪の小径段部に圧入され、外周に前記複列の外側転走面に対向する他方の内側転走面が形成された内輪からなる内方部材と、
この内方部材と前記外方部材の両転走面間に転動自在に収容された複列の転動体とを備え、
前記ハブ輪の小径段部の端部を径方向外方に塑性変形させて形成した加締部によって前記内輪が軸方向に固定された車輪用軸受装置において、
前記内輪の小端面側の肉厚が前記ハブ輪の肩部の段差よりも大きく、前記内輪の小端面の位置が、前記複列の転動体のうちインナー側の転動体のアウター側の位置に対応する軸方向位置から前記内輪の内側転走面の溝底位置に対応する軸方向位置までの軸方向範囲内に配置されて前記内輪の溝底径と小端部の外径が略同一に形成され、前記内輪の小端面側の面積の無次元値を当該内輪の内径の無次元値で除した値が11以上に設定されていることを特徴とする車輪用軸受装置。 - 前記ハブ輪のインナー側の端部に凹部が形成され、この凹部が前記ハブ輪の肩部の軸方向位置に相当する深さまで形成され、前記小径段部が円筒状に形成されている請求項1に記載の車輪用軸受装置。
- 前記ハブ輪の小径段部に断面が略矩形状に形成された間座が外嵌され、前記加締部と前記ハブ輪の肩部との間に前記内輪と間座が挟持された状態で、当該内輪が前記ハブ輪に固定されている請求項1に記載の車輪用軸受装置。
- 前記複列の転動体のうちインナー側の転動体のピッチ円直径がアウター側の転動体のピッチ円直径よりも大径に設定され、前記複列の転動体のサイズが同じで、前記インナー側の転動体の個数が前記アウター側の転動体の個数よりも多く設定されている請求項1に記載の車輪用軸受装置。
