Claims (4)
- 電解質膜の両側に一対の電極を設けた電解質膜・電極構造体と、前記電解質膜・電極構造体の外形寸法よりも大きな外形寸法を有するセパレータとが積層されるとともに、前記電解質膜・電極構造体を挟んで互いに対向する前記セパレータ間には、該電解質膜・電極構造体の外周縁部に接触する内側シール部材と、該電解質膜・電極構造体の外周端部から外方に位置して前記セパレータ間に配置される外側シール部材とが設けられる燃料電池であって、
互いに隣接する前記セパレータ間には、セパレータ面に沿って冷却媒体を流通させる冷却媒体流路が形成されるとともに、前記冷却媒体流路を形成する一方の前記セパレータには、前記セパレータ面に沿って平面状に延在し且つ前記内側シール部材及び前記外側シール部材よりも高さ方向に肉薄なベースシールが形成され、
前記ベースシールには、積層方向から見て、前記内側シール部材と重なり合う位置に設けられた内側凸部及び前記外側シール部材と重なり合う位置に設けられた外側凸部が、前記冷却媒体流路側に突出形成されるとともに、
前記内側凸部と前記外側凸部との間には、該内側凸部及び該外側凸部よりも高さ方向に肉薄な中間凸部が、前記冷却媒体流路側に突出形成されることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1記載の燃料電池において、前記冷却媒体流路を形成する他方の前記セパレータには、前記セパレータ面に沿って平面状に延在し且つ前記内側シール部材及び前記外側シール部材よりも高さ方向に肉薄なベースシールが形成され、
他方の前記セパレータの前記ベースシールには、前記中間凸部に対向して凸部が突出形成されることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1又は2記載の燃料電池において、前記中間凸部の長手方向の中央に対応する位置に成形用ゲートが配置されることを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の燃料電池において、一方の前記セパレータ又は他方の前記セパレータの前記冷却媒体流路側のベースシール高さは、反対面の反応ガス流路側のベースシール高さよりも低く設定されることを特徴とする燃料電池。
