Description
The present invention relates to a focus adjustment device used for a camera or the like, and more particularly to a focus adjustment device and a focus adjustment method for performing subject acquisition determination.
In general, a control method for driving a photographing lens in conjunction with the movement of a moving subject is widely known in order to keep the moving subject in focus in a camera focus adjustment device. In the driving control of the photographing lens, the camera first performs focus adjustment according to the focus detection result of the subject. After that, focus detection is performed again, and subject capture determination is performed according to the focus detection result. When it is determined that the same subject is captured, subject position prediction is performed based on past distance measurement results, and subject predicted position The operation of driving the lens is repeated. Further, in the focus adjustment device, many various control methods have been proposed, such as stopping the photographing lens for a predetermined time when it is determined that the same subject is not captured in the subject capture determination.
In
In addition to the prior art described above, as shown in FIG. 4A, is the defocus amount calculated from the
By the way, in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2004-228561, the capture determination of the subject moving in the up / down / left / right direction is described. No mention is made of the configuration. In
Further, in the capture determination shown in FIGS. 4A and 4B, distance measurement is performed by an obstacle in front of the subject to be photographed or the subject moving in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction. When the subject comes off the point, the defocus amount at the previous distance measurement and the current distance measurement changes greatly. Therefore, the defocus amount is outside the threshold range, and it is determined that the subject is not captured in the subject capture determination. As described above, the capture determination as shown in FIGS. 4A and 4B is an effective means when the subject to be measured is changed.
However, as shown in FIG. 4B, even if the subject at the previous distance measurement and the subject at the current distance measurement are the same subject, the subject position 302b at the current distance measurement from the
Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 4C, when the
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems, and an object thereof is to provide a focus adjustment device that improves the accuracy of subject capture determination.

In order to achieve the above object, a focusing apparatus according to an aspect of the present invention has the following arrangement. That is,
A focus adjustment device used in an imaging device,
Focus detection means for detecting the defocus amount of the taking lens based on the subject signal accumulated in the AF sensor;
Correlation amount calculating means for calculating a correlation amount between the subject signal obtained by the focus detection means and a subject signal obtained in the past by the focus detection means;
Threshold value changing means for changing the threshold value to a larger value as the correlation amount calculated by the correlation amount calculating means shows higher correlation;
By comparing the defocus amount obtained by the focus detection unit with the threshold value changed by the threshold value change unit, the subject signal obtained by the focus detection unit is the same as the subject signal obtained in the past. Capture determination means for determining whether or not a subject is captured;
When it is determined that the same subject is captured by the capture determination unit, the focus adjustment of the photographing lens is executed based on the defocus amount, and it is determined that the same subject is not captured by the capture determination unit. If so, the focus adjustment of the photographic lens based on the defocus amount is not performed, and the photographic lens is moved to a focus position predicted from a recent predetermined number of defocus amounts detected by the focus detection means. Focusing means for controlling to perform the focusing adjustment .

FIG. 2 is a block diagram illustrating a configuration example of a single-lens reflex digital camera (hereinafter, digital camera) according to the embodiment. In FIG. 2, an autofocus drive circuit (hereinafter referred to as AF drive circuit) 202 is configured by, for example, a DC motor or an ultrasonic motor, and adjusts the focus lens position of the photographing

FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating a schematic configuration of the
A light beam emitted from one point on the
In such a configuration, for example, when the photographing
The digital camera of the present embodiment performs focus detection of the photographing
In step S101, when the
Next, in step S105, the capture determination unit 104 determines whether the same subject is captured based on whether the defocus amount detected in step S103 is less than a threshold value. If the capture determination unit 104 determines that the subject is captured, the process branches to step S106, the subject
If it is determined in step S105 that the subject has not been captured, the process proceeds to step S107. In step S107, the
In step S109, the
In the above process, the lens is stopped when the state in which it is determined that the subject is not captured in step S105 continues for a predetermined time (step S108), but is not limited thereto. For example, in step S105, the
Next, using the flowchart shown in FIGS. 6A and 6B, the capture determination unit 104 that determines whether or not the same subject is captured in step S <b> 104 in FIG. 5. A routine for changing the threshold will be described.
In step S201, the correlation
The
FIG. 8 is a diagram showing
Next, calculation for obtaining the correlation amount of the subject signal will be described with reference to the flowchart shown in FIG.
In step S301, the correlation
In step S303, the correlation
In step S307, the correlation
In the process illustrated in FIG. 6B, the range of the bit shift amount K in step S302 has been described as CP / 2. The reason for this is that if the shift amount is too small or the shift amount is too large, the correlation of the subject image signal image between times t0 and t1 may deteriorate, so the range of the bit shift amount K is CP / 2. This is because is considered appropriate. However, in practice, the bit shift amount K can be implemented within the range of 1 to CP-1.
When the process shown in FIG. 6B is executed, as shown in FIG. 7, when the
In step S202, the threshold
As described above, according to the present embodiment, the threshold value of the capture determination unit 104 that determines whether or not the same subject is captured is changed by adding the correlation amount with the subject signal after a predetermined time to the subject capture determination. By doing so, it is possible to improve the subject capturing accuracy. In particular, the present invention is effective in the following scenes, for example.
When the subject is in the foreground, the defocus amount increases when the amount of movement of the subject is large in the optical axis direction at time t0 and time t1 after a predetermined time. At this time, even if the same subject is captured if the threshold is fixed, the defocus amount becomes larger than the threshold, and the possibility that the capture determination unit 104 determines that the same subject is not captured increases. If it is determined that the same subject has not been captured in this way, the control proceeds to lens stop control (S107 → S108), and the photographing
On the other hand, according to the above-described embodiment, the threshold value is increased as the correlation of the subject signal is higher (in the embodiment, the correlation amount COR (K) is smaller). For this reason, if the same subject is captured, the threshold is set to be large, and even if the defocus amount increases, it is easy to determine that the same subject is captured, and erroneous determination can be reduced. Accordingly, even in the above-described case, since the photographing
On the other hand, when the subject is in a distant view, the subject is small, so it is more difficult for the photographer to keep catching the subject than in the near view. In this case, the subject is captured by the
On the other hand, according to the above embodiment, the threshold value is decreased as the correlation is lower (in the embodiment, the correlation amount COR (K) is larger). That is, if it can be determined that a different subject is captured, the threshold for subject capture determination is reduced. For this reason, even in the above case, it is not determined that the same subject is captured, and erroneous determination can be reduced. That is, the photographing lens is stopped for a predetermined time at time t1, and the lens does not follow different subjects. As a result, the captured image obtained at time t1 is an image in which the subject to be imaged is in focus.
As described above, the threshold used by the capture determination unit 104 is increased when the correlation between the subject signals is high, and the threshold used by the capture determination unit 104 is decreased when the correlation between the subject signals is low. It becomes possible to make the lens follow easily. This makes it easy to continue capturing the same subject even when the subject is in the foreground or distant view. That is, it is possible to reduce the possibility that a background or an obstacle, which is a different subject, is erroneously determined as the same subject, followed, and captured.
In the above embodiment, the accuracy of subject capture determination can be improved by utilizing a pair of
