Description

The present invention relates to an in-casing cooling apparatus that cools equipment that requires continuous operation, and more particularly to an in-casing cooling apparatus that includes a plurality of cooling fan units.

A cooling device for equipment that operates continuously for 24 hours is required to have redundancy to continue cooling with another cooling fan unit even if one cooling fan unit fails.

For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a redundant cooling type casing cooling device in which two or more cooling fan units are serially superposed, and such a casing cooling device is provided inside a casing of a server device or a display wall processor. And is used to cool electrical components.

As shown in FIG. 1 of Patent Document 2, a server device or a display wall processor in which a case cooling device is mounted is often installed by being attached to a rack mount composed of four columns in units of a plurality of cases. . If one of the cooling fan units breaks down, the chassis is pulled out from the rack mount and the cooling fan unit is replaced. If there is a limit on the total length of the wiring connected to the other chassis, the chassis Sometimes it was difficult to pull out the body.

In order to solve such a problem, FIG. 1 of Patent Document 2 discloses a configuration in which a plurality of cooling fan units are collectively attached to a fan case, and when the cooling fan unit is replaced, the cooling fan unit is pulled out together with the fan case. ing.

However, according to the configuration of Patent Document 2, the relative position between the cooling fan unit and the object to be cooled changes when the cooling fan unit is replaced. For this reason, particularly when the replacement work requires time, a cooling state different from the steady state may continue to cause a cooling failure, leading to problems such as system down.

In view of the above-described problems, an object of the present invention is to provide an in-casing cooling device that can replace a failed cooling fan unit while maintaining a cooling state similar to that in a normal state.

The in-casing cooling device of the present invention is an in-casing cooling device that cools an object to be cooled in the housing, and includes a plurality of cooling fan units and a unit holder that holds the cooling fan units at a predetermined position inside the housing opening. And a prechamber provided between the unit holder and the object to be cooled, which stirs and buffers the cooling air flow from the cooling fan unit and introduces it into the object to be cooled at a uniform flow rate .

Therefore, when one of the cooling fan units fails and stops, by increasing the number of rotations of the other cooling fan units, the amount of cooling air introduced from the front chamber to the cooling target is kept constant, and the cooling performance Can be maintained. In addition, by installing the cooling fan unit inside the housing opening and allowing the cooling fan unit to be attached and detached individually without moving other cooling fan units, the cooling fan unit is maintained while maintaining the cooling performance. Replacement is possible. Further, since redundancy can be ensured without superposing the cooling fan units in series, it is possible to reduce costs and noise during operation.

<構成>
(Embodiment 1)
<Configuration>
FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a state in which a plurality of casings 100 on which the in-chamber cooling device according to the first embodiment is mounted are attached to a rack mount 101 composed of four columns.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing the appearance of the housing 100, and FIG. 3 is an exploded perspective view showing each component of the housing 100 and the cooling device in the housing.

As shown in FIG. 3, a plurality of sub-boards 102 mounted perpendicular to the main board 103 are to be cooled by the in-chamber cooling device. A signal processing electronic component is mounted on the sub-board 102 and connected to the outside, for example, another device sharing the same rack mount 101 from the back surface of the housing 100 by the wiring 104 shown in FIG.

The in-casing cooling device includes a unit holder 106 provided in the casing 100 apart from the parent substrate 103, and a plurality of cooling fan units 107a, 107b, 107c, 107d, 107e having the same specifications attached to the unit holder 106. 107f. FIGS. 2 and 3 show a state in which the cooling fan units 107a to 107f of 2 rows and 3 columns are attached in parallel to the unit holder 106, but the number of cooling fan units, the number of rows and the number of columns in the arrangement, and the like. Is not limited to this. In addition, an exhaust port is formed at a location where the cooling fan units 107a to 107f of the unit holder 106 are attached, so that the air flow in the axial direction of the cooling fan units 107a to 107f is not obstructed.

The front panel 105 constituting the front surface of the housing 100 can be opened and closed with one side connected to the bottom surface of the housing 100, and an opening is formed in the front surface of the housing 100 by moving the front panel 105. Is done. Since the unit holder 106 is installed in the vicinity of the opening in a direction parallel to the closed front panel 105, the user can open the cooling fan unit from the opening with the front panel 105 opened as shown in FIG. 107a to 107f can be individually detached. The cooling fan units 107a to 107f are attached to the unit holder 106 by engaging with a stopper 109 fixed to the unit holder 106, and other cooling states are obtained by eliminating or forming the engaged state with the stopper 109. The cooling fan unit can be attached and detached individually without moving the fan unit. Further, the front panel 105 has an air inlet for introducing an air flow into the cooling fan units 107a to 107f.

<動作>
<Operation>
FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of the housing 100 that passes through the cooling fan units 107 a and 107 d, and shows a cooling air flow inside the housing 100. When the cooling fan units 107 a to 107 f are driven, cooling air is introduced into the housing from the intake port of the front panel 105 and passes through the exhaust port of the unit holder 106. Further, the cooling air flow is stirred in a space (front chamber 113) partitioned by the parent substrate 103 and the unit holder 106, and then the child substrate 102 is supplied at a uniform flow rate from the cooling port 108 provided in the lower portion of the parent substrate 103. To be introduced. Thereafter, the cooling air flow is discharged outside the casing 100 from an exhaust port of the casing 100 (not shown).

In the in-casing cooling apparatus of the present embodiment, the cooling air flow from cooling fan units 107a to 107f is temporarily buffered in front chamber 113 and then introduced into sub board 102, so that sub board 102 is cooled. The capacity depends on the total cooling capacity of the cooling fan units 107a to 107f. Therefore, redundancy can be ensured without superposing the cooling fan units 107a to 107f in series.

Specifically, the cooling fan units 107a to 107f normally operate at a rotational speed lower than the rated rotational speed. When any one of the cooling fan units 107a, for example, the cooling fan unit 107a is stopped due to a failure, the remaining cooling fan units 107b to 107f are set so that the amount of air flowing out from the cooling port 108 is the same as that in the normal time. Operates at a higher rotational speed than normal. Therefore, the child board 102 is similarly cooled after the failure of the cooling fan unit 107a.

If the stopped cooling fan unit 107a is left unattended, the load applied to the remaining cooling fan units 107c to 107f increases when the other cooling fan units 107b to 107f further fail. Therefore, the stopped cooling fan unit 107a needs to be replaced with a normal one as soon as possible.

In that respect, since the cooling fan units 107a to 107f are fixed to the front panel 105 side of the unit holder 106 by the stopper 109, they can be easily replaced with the front panel 105 opened as shown in FIG.

Further, since the cooling fan units 107a to 107f are supplied with power through the general-purpose relay connector 110, no special board or power supply terminal is attached to the cooling fan units 107a to 107f. Since only the cooling fan units 107a to 107f need to be replaced, the replacement cost can be reduced.

<効果>
<Effect>
The in-casing cooling apparatus according to the present embodiment is an in-casing cooling apparatus that cools the sub-board 102 (cooling target) in the casing 100, and includes a plurality of cooling fan units 107a to 107f and cooling fan units 107a to 107f. Is held between the unit holder 106 and the object to be cooled, and the cooling air flow from the cooling fan units 107a to 107f is buffered to be the object to be cooled. And a prechamber 113 to be introduced. Since the amount of cooling air introduced into the sub board 102 depends on the total cooling capacity of the cooling fan units 107a to 107f, even if any one of the cooling fan units 107a to 107f fails and stops, another cooling fan unit The cooling performance can be maintained by increasing the rotational speed of 107a to 107f. Further, since redundancy can be ensured without superimposing the cooling fan units 107a to 107f in series, it is possible to reduce costs and noise during operation.

Further, in the in-casing cooling apparatus of the present embodiment, unit holder 106 is provided at a position where cooling fan units 107a to 107f can be taken out from the opening of the casing without moving unit holder 106. Therefore, the cooling fan units 107a to 107f can be individually detached without moving the other cooling fan units 107a to 107f, and the cooling fan units 107a to 107f can be replaced while maintaining the cooling performance.

The in-casing cooling device of the present embodiment further includes a parent board 103 (separator) that has a cooling port 108 and isolates the cooling fan units 107a to 107f and the cooling target except the cooling port 108, The prechamber 113 is a space in the housing 100 partitioned by the parent substrate 103 and the unit holder 106. Therefore, even if any one of the cooling fan units 107a to 107f fails and stops, the number of other cooling fan units 107a to 107f is increased to maintain the amount of cooling air introduced from the cooling port 108 to the cooling target. Thus, the cooling performance can be maintained.

Further, in the in-casing cooling apparatus of the present embodiment, when any one of the cooling fan units 107a to 107f is stopped due to a failure, the other cooling fan units 107a to 107f cool the air flow of approximately the same amount as before the failure. It is driven at an increased rotational speed so that it is introduced into the object to be cooled from the mouth 108. Therefore, even if any one of the cooling fan units 107a to 107f breaks down, the cooling performance can be maintained.

(Embodiment 2)
When the cooling fan unit 107a fails and stops, the cooling air flows backward from the space between the unit holder 106 and the parent substrate 103 through the propeller portion of the cooling fan unit 107a. If no backflow occurs, the cooling performance can be maintained by operating the other cooling fan units 107b to 107f with a capacity 1.2 times that of the steady state. It is necessary to operate, and cooling efficiency worsens.

Therefore, in the second embodiment, the exhaust port of the unit holder 106 is covered with a backflow prevention plate. The configuration other than the backflow prevention plate is the same as that of the first embodiment.

FIG. 6 is a rear perspective view of a housing in which the in-casing cooling device according to the second embodiment is mounted. FIG. 7 shows the configuration of the backflow prevention plate 111. The backflow prevention plate 111 is a lightweight plastic plate, and is held in a state where the protrusion 112 is inserted into the exhaust port of the unit holder 106.

FIG. 8 is a cross-sectional view of a main part around the cooling fan units 107a and 107d. The backflow prevention plate 111 provided at the rear stage of the rotating cooling fan unit 107d is maintained in a state of being rotated by a predetermined angle with the protrusion 112 as a fulcrum by the static pressure of the cooling fan unit 107d. The cooling air flow toward the front chamber 113 is not hindered. On the other hand, the backflow prevention plate 111 provided at the rear stage of the stopped cooling fan unit 107a is held in a direction substantially parallel to the unit holder 106 by its own weight, and each of them overlaps to block the exhaust port of the unit holder 106. The cooling air flow from the pre-chamber 113 toward the cooling fan unit 107a is blocked.

By providing such a backflow prevention plate 111, deterioration of the cooling efficiency when any of the cooling fan units 107a to 107f is stopped is suppressed.

<効果>
<Effect>
In the in-casing cooling device of the present embodiment, unit holder 106 has an exhaust port through which the cooling air flow passes on the mounting surface of cooling fan units 107a to 107f, and is attached to unit holder 106 so as to cover the exhaust port.
