Description
本出願は、2006年6月13日に出願された「ロック回転ノブを有する装置及びこれを使用するための方法(Devices having locking rotation knobs and methods for using the same)」と題されたDanitz及びHinmanの米国出願番号第60/813650号明細書の合衆国法典第5巻第119条に基づく優先権を主張し、参照として本明細書に組み込まれる。本出願は、以下の係属中の米国特許出願、Hegeman、Danitz、Hinman及びAlvordの「関節接続ロック部を有するツール(Tool with articulation lock)」と、Hinman及びBertschの「力制限部を有するツール(Tool with force limiter)」と、Hinmanの「多段階ラッチエンドエフェクタを有するツール(Tool with multi-state ratcheted end effector)」と、Hegeman、Danitz、Bertsch、Hinman及びAlvordの「改良された伸長部材システムを有する関節運動ツール(Articulating tool with improved tension member system)」と、にさらに関する。

Claims (28)
- 基端部分及び先端部分と、
前記基端部分及び前記先端部分の間に介在されたシャフトと、
前記基端部分にあるハンドルと、
前記シャフトに対して前記先端部分の角をなす方向付けの操作のための関節接続機構と、
前記関節接続機構及び前記先端部分が前記ハンドルに対して回転可能でない第1状態であり、前記ハンドルに関する前記先端部分の回転配置がロックされる第1状態、すなわち、前記先端部分が前記ハンドルと共に回転可能である第1状態と、
前記関節接続機構及び前記先端部分が前記ハンドルに対して回転可能である第2状態と、を有するシャフト回転機構と、を備え、
前記関節接続機構は、基端側リンク部及び先端側リンク部からなる対を含み、
前記シャフトは、前記基端側リンク部と前記先端側リンク部との間に配置される、
ことを特徴とする装置。 - 当該装置の前記先端部分に配置されたエンドエフェクタをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記シャフト回転機構は、前記第1状態において前記ハンドルと係合しかつ前記第2状態において前記ハンドルと係合しないハンドル係合面を備えることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の装置。
- 前記ハンドル係合面は、複数の歯部を備え、
前記ハンドルは、前記シャフト回転機構が前記第1状態にあるときに前記ハンドル係合面と係合するように構成された複数の歯部を備えることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の装置。 - 前記ハンドルは、前記ハンドルの複数の前記歯部を支持する移動可能なロックアクチュエータをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の装置。
- 前記シャフト回転機構は、前記第1状態及び前記第2状態において前記関節接続機構と係合するシャフト係合機構をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1乃至5の何れか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記シャフト係合機構は、前記第1状態及び前記第2状態の間で基端側及び先端側に移動可能であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記シャフト回転機構は、前記関節接続機構と係合するシャフト回転アクチュエータをさらに有し、
前記シャフト回転アクチュエータの回転は、前記ハンドルに対して当該装置の前記関節接続機構及び前記先端部分を回転することを特徴とする請求項1乃至7の何れか一項に記載の装置。 - 前記シャフト回転アクチュエータは、前記シャフト回転機構が前記第1状態にあるときに前記ハンドルに対して回転できないことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の装置。
- 前記シャフト回転機構は、前記第1状態に向けて付勢されていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至9の何れか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記シャフト回転機構は、当該シャフト回転機構を前記第1状態に向けて付勢するスプリングを備えることを特徴とする請求項1乃至10の何れか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記基端側リンク部の運動は、前記先端側リンク部の対応する相対運動と、前記シャフトに対する前記先端部分の角をなす運動とをもたらすことを特徴とする請求項1乃至11の何れか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記関節接続機構は、前記基端側リンク部及び前記先端側リンク部からなる対を複数備え、
各対の前記基端側リンク部は、対の前記先端側リンク部の対応する相対運動と、前記シャフトに対する前記先端部分の角をなす運動とをもたらすことを特徴とする請求項1乃至12の何れか一項に記載の装置。 - 前記シャフト回転機構は、前記基端側リンク部とのスライド係合部を備えることを特徴とする請求項1乃至13の何れか一項に記載の装置。
- 係合位置及び係合解除位置を有する関節接続ロック部をさらに備え、
前記係合位置において、前記関節接続ロック部は、リンク部の各対の前記基端側リンク部の相対運動を妨害し、これによりリンク部の各対の前記先端側リンク部の相対運動を防止することを特徴とする請求項1乃至14の何れか一項に記載の装置。 - 当該装置は、手術または診察ツールを備えることを特徴とする請求項1乃至13の何れか一項に記載の装置。
- 人間以外の動物の手術又は診察で装置を使用する方法であって、
当該装置は、
基端部分及び先端部分と、
前記基端部分にあるハンドルと、
前記基端部分及び前記先端部分の間に介在されたシャフトと、
前記シャフトに対して前記先端部分の角をなす方向付けの操作のための関節接続機構と、を備え、
前記関節接続機構は、基端側リンク部及び先端側リンク部からなる対を含み、
前記シャフトは、前記基端側リンク部と前記先端側リンク部との間に配置され、
当該方法は、
前記先端部分を目的位置に配置する工程と、
前記ハンドルを前記シャフトに対して角をなして移動させ、ツールの前記先端部分を前記シャフトに対して角をなして移動させる工程と、
前記ハンドルを前記シャフトに対して前記先端部分を回転させることなく回転する工程と、
前記ハンドルを回転することによって前記先端部分に回転トルクを付与する工程と、
を備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記装置は、前記装置の前記先端部分に配置されたエンドエフェクタをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記装置は、シャフト回転アクチュエータをさらに備え、
前記シャフトに対して前記ハンドルを回転する工程は、前記シャフト回転アクチュエータを第1位置から第2位置まで移動させる工程を備えることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の方法。 - 前記先端部分に回転トルクを付与する工程の前に、前記シャフト回転アクチュエータを前記第2位置から前記第1位置まで移動させる工程をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記シャフトに対して前記ハンドルを回転する工程は、前記シャフト回転アクチュエータに対して前記ハンドルを回転する工程を備える工程を備えることを特徴とする請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記シャフトに対して前記ハンドルを回転する工程は、前記シャフト回転アクチュエータに対して前記ハンドルを回転する一方、前記シャフト回転アクチュエータが前記第2位置にある工程を備えることを特徴とする請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記第1位置は、前記第2位置の基端側にあることを特徴とする請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記ハンドル及び前記シャフトの間の相対的な角をなす運動の許可を制御する工程をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の方法。
- 角をなす運動の許可を制御する工程は、関節接続ロック部を係合解除位置から係合位置まで移動させることによって角をなす運動を妨害する工程を備え、
前記係合位置において、前記関節接続ロック部は、前記基端側リンク部の運動と前記先端側リンク部の対応する相対運動とを妨害することを特徴とする請求項24に記載の方法。 - 前記関節接続ロック部は、スリーブを備え、
前記関節接続ロック部を移動させる工程は、前記スリーブをスライドする工程を備えることを特徴とする請求項25に記載の方法。 - 前記関節接続ロック部を移動させる工程は、前記スリーブを基端側に前記ツールに沿ってスライドする工程を備えることを特徴とする請求項26に記載の方法。
- 角をなす運動の許可を制御する工程は、前記関節接続ロック部を前記係合位置から前記係合解除位置まで移動させて前記ハンドル及び前記シャフトの間の相対的な角をなす運動を許可する工程を備えることを特徴とする請求項25に記載の方法。
