Description
本発明の一形態によれば、触媒層を有する燃料電池が提供される。この燃料電池は、前記触媒層中の白金の量が前記触媒層の表面積1cm2当たり0.01〜0.2mgであり、XRD法により測定された前記白金の平均粒径が2nm〜3nmであり、前記触媒層の酸素ガスの拡散抵抗が40s/m以下である。この形態の燃料電池によれば、触媒層の酸素ガスの拡散抵抗が小さいので、触媒層中の白金(触媒)に多くの酸素ガスを供給できる。そのため、白金の使用量が少なくても、燃料電池の発電性能を維持できる。すなわち、白金の使用量当たりの発電性能を向上させることが可能となる。

この適用例によれば、触媒層の拡散抵抗が小さいので、触媒層中の白金(触媒)に多くの反応ガスを供給できる。そのため、白金の使用量が少なくても、燃料電池の発電性能を維持できる。すなわち、白金の使用量当たりの発電性能を向上させることが可能となる。

- 触媒層を有する燃料電池であって、
前記触媒層中の白金の量が前記触媒層の表面積1cm2当たり0.01〜0.2mgであり、
XRD法により測定された前記白金の平均粒径が2nm〜3nmであり、
前記触媒層の酸素ガスの拡散抵抗が40s/m以下である、
燃料電池。
