Description
本願は、2000年7月14日に出願された米国特許出願第09/615,965号の一部継続出願であり、米国特許法第120条に基づく主張している出願日の利益がある。
本発明は,一般に医療用画像診断システムに関し、特には、蛍光内視鏡検査ビデオシステムに関する。
蛍光内視鏡検査は、正常な組織と初期癌の疑いのある組織との蛍光反応の差を用いて癌などの検出および位置の特定のツールとして利用する。蛍光内視鏡検査中に励起される蛍光発光する化合物または蛍光担体(fluorophore)が、光学活性薬が疑いのある組織に優先的に堆積して外因的に追加され得るか、または、これらは全ての組織に存在する内在的な蛍光担体であり得る。後者の場合、組織からの蛍光は典型的に、自動蛍光または自然発光として呼ばれる。組織の自動蛍光は典型的に、UVおよび可視スペクトルの青色部分の吸収帯域ならびに可視スペクトルの緑色〜赤色部分の発光帯を有する蛍光担体によるものである。初期癌の疑いのある組織において、自動蛍光スペクトルの緑色部分は顕著に抑圧される。組織の自動蛍光に基づく蛍光内視鏡検査は、このスペクトルの差を利用して、疑いのある組織と正常な組織とを区別する。
本発明による蛍光内視鏡ビデオシステムは、
白色光、蛍光励起光、または標準反射光を有する蛍光励起光のいずれか一つを生成するマルチモードにおいて操作可能である内視鏡の光源と、
観察のもとで組織に光を伝搬する光ガイド、および観察のもとで組織からの光を受光するための画像処理ガイドまたは小型カメラのいずれか一方を含む内視鏡と、
内視鏡の画像処理ガイドからの光を受信し、カラー画像またはマルチチャンネル蛍光および反射画像を得るためにマルチ画像モードにおいて操作可能である小型カメラ(得られた画像は、カメラの固定されたビームスプリッターによって一つ以上の画像センサに光学的に分割されて投影され、ビームスプリッターからのビームの一部は、カラー画像を得る画像センサに向けられ、残りのビーム(単数または複数)は、蛍光画像および/または反射画像を得るために単一または第1のビームに併せて使用される)と、
カラービデオ信号として画像信号をデジタル化して、処理して、符号化する画像プロセッサおよびシステムコントローラと、
プロセッサ/コントローラにあり得るコントラスト強調機能(この機能は、蛍光/反射(または蛍光/蛍光)画像信号の相対強度に基づいた処理された基準画像信号に単一性のない利得係数を適用する)と、
処理されたビデオ信号を表示するカラービデオモニタと、
システムの応答が異なる内視鏡の光学特性および/または他の画像信号経路の可変量を較正することができるカラー較正機構と
を含む。
図1Aは、本発明の現在好適な実施形態による蛍光内視鏡ビデオシステム50のブロック図である。システムは、カラー画像を得るための白色光を生成するマルチモード光源52を含む。第2の操作モードにおいて、光源52は、組織の自動蛍光を含む励起光を生成する。第3の操作モードにおいて、光源52は、組織の自動蛍光および基準反射光を含む励起光を生成する。蛍光/蛍光画像モードの励起光および蛍光/反射画像モードの励起光+反射光の使用は、以下にさらに詳細に記載される。光源52からの光は、次に画像化されるべき組織標本58を照射する内視鏡60の照射ガイド54に供給される。
Claims (5)
- 蛍光内視鏡検査映像システムであって、
白色光、蛍光励起光、または基準反射光を含む蛍光励起光を生成するマルチモード光源と、
組織サンプルを照射して該組織によって生成される該反射光または蛍光を集光するように、該光源から患者に該光を向けるための内視鏡と、
前記内視鏡の挿入部分に形成され、該内視鏡によって集光された光を受け取るように配置されたカメラであって、
カラー画像センサと、
低光画像センサと、
基準画像センサと、
二色性スプリッタおよびフィルタアセンブリと、
該内視鏡から受け取られた光を少なくとも2つのビームに分割し、第1のビームを該カラー画像センサ上に向け、第2のビームを前記二色性スプリッタおよびフィルタアセンブリに向けるためのビームスプリッタとを含む
カメラと、ここで、前記二色性スプリッタおよびフィルタアセンブリは、前記第2のビームを2つのスペクトル成分に分割し、該2つのスペクトル成分を前記低光画像センサおよび前記基準画像センサに投影し、
所望された波長の光を選択的に伝達するための、前記低光画像センサ、前記基準画像センサ、および前記カラー画像センサの前面に配置された、1以上のフィルタと、
前記カラー画像センサ、前記基準画像センサ、および前記低光画像センサの上に画像を投影する1以上の光学画像素子と、
該1以上のセンサから受け取られた画像信号を映像信号としてデジタル化、処理、および符号化するための画像プロセッサ/コントローラと、
該映像信号を表示するための映像モニタと
を含む、蛍光内視鏡検査映像システム。 - 前記二色性スプリッタおよびフィルタアセンブリは、前記低光画像センサおよび前記基準画像センサによって受け取られる光が実質的に緑色波長または赤色波長の光から構成されると共に帯域外波長の光からはほとんど構成されない程度にまで帯域外の光を妨げながら、前記第2のビームを緑色帯域および赤色帯域に分割する、請求項1に記載の蛍光内視鏡検査映像システム。
- 前記二色性スプリッタおよびフィルタアセンブリは、前記低光画像センサおよび前記基準画像センサによって受け取られる光が実質的に青色波長または赤色波長の光から構成されると共に帯域外波長の光からはほとんど構成されない程度にまで帯域外の光を妨げながら、前記第2のビームを青色帯域および赤色帯域に分割する、請求項1に記載の蛍光内視鏡検査映像システム。
- 前記二色性スプリッタおよびフィルタアセンブリは、前記低光画像センサおよび前記基準画像センサによって受け取られる光が実質的に赤色波長または近赤外波長の光から構成されると共に帯域外波長の光からはほとんど構成されない程度にまで帯域外の光を妨げながら、前記第2のビームを赤色帯域および近赤外帯域に分割する、請求項1に記載の蛍光内視鏡検査映像システム。
- 前記二色性スプリッタおよびフィルタアセンブリは、前記低光画像センサおよび前記基準画像センサによって受け取られる光が実質的に緑色波長または近赤外波長の光から構成されると共に帯域外波長の光からはほとんど構成されない程度にまで帯域外の光を妨げながら、前記第2のビームを緑色帯域および近赤外帯域に分割する、請求項1に記載の蛍光内視鏡検査映像システム。
