例えば、累積給紙枚数の判断において、累積給紙枚数を指定なしにすることで、1枚目以降も継続して記録材の温度測定を行い、適時制御パラメータの変更を行なうこともできる。また、温度測定結果の判断後、記録材がトナー定着不良を起こす温度範囲にあると判断された場合に、エラーとして画像形成を中止することもできる。さらに、操作パネルのような、入力操作可能な表示装置を有する画像形成装置において、温度測定結果の判断後、エラー(画像形成を中止)にせず、測定結果の判断結果を表示装置へ表示のみ実行して印刷は継続することもでき、これらのいずれかの処理をユーザの所望する度合いによって切替えることも可能である。これを図4に示す。
また、判断結果の表示とともに、その後の処理の選択肢を表示し、操作パネルによってユーザが選択し、指示することも可能である。

温度の測定結果において、記録材がトナー定着不良を起こす温度範囲であるか、すなわち規定範囲外であるかを判断し(S34)、測定温度が規定範囲外であったとき、エラー処理として画像形成を中止するかを判断する(S35)。画像形成を実行する場合には、測定温度が規定範囲外であったことをユーザに通知するか否かを判断し(S36)、通知無しで制御パラメータを自動的に変更する処理を行うか、制御パラメータ変更の実施判断(S37)に従い、制御パラメータの変更を行い(S38)、定着装置の制御温度及び記録材を給紙した給紙トレイの加熱装置の加熱温度の少なくともいずれかを加減すると同時に、記録材の搬送を再開する。

Claims (2)

開閉可能な複数の給紙装置と、
前記給紙装置のそれぞれについて閉状態となってからの記録材の累積給紙枚数を管理する手段と、
前記記録材の搬送経路上において前記記録材を停止させる手段と、
停止した前記記録材の温度測定を行なう手段と、
前記温度測定の結果に応じて制御パラメータを変更し、定着装置及び給紙装置の少なくともいずれかの加熱温度を制御可能な手段と、
入力操作可能な表示装置と、を備え、
少なくとも累積給紙枚数が1枚目の前記記録材が給紙されたとき、
該記録材を搬送経路上で停止させて温度を測定し、測定された温度が規定の範囲を外れた場合、画像形成を実行するか中止するかを選択可能に前記表示装置に表示させ、
画像形成を実行することがユーザにより選択されたときは、前記制御パラメータを変更し、定着装置及び給紙装置の少なくともいずれかの加熱温度を制御できることを特徴とする画像形成装置。
