Description
Fe+1/2H2O+3/4O2→FeOOH ・・・(1)
(1)前記式(1)のように、鉄系の脱酸素剤は、酸素との反応の際に水分を必須とするので、鉄と共に水分保持剤を混入する場合がある。このような脱酸素剤では、前記水分保持剤から水分が発散するので、密封袋内の湿度が上昇することとなる。したがって、例えばガスバリアフィルムからなる密封袋内に錠剤等を密封収容する場合には、袋内の乾燥状態を保持するために、例えばシリカゲル等の除湿剤を同封することが必要な場合がある。このような場合には、錠剤を密封袋内に封入する工程において、脱酸素剤を投入する手段と、除湿剤を投入する手段とが必要となり、工程が煩雑化する。一方、除湿剤を用いて密封袋内の水分を除去してしまうと、酸化反応に寄与する水分割合が低下して脱酸素剤の脱酸素機能が低下してしまう。
(2)水分を極度に嫌う医薬品、サプリメント等の錠剤の場合には、水分保持剤を同封することができない。したがって前記式(1)で表される水分による酸化促進ができず、脱酸素機能を良好に発揮できない。この結果、通常よりも多量の鉄粉が必要となってしまう。このことは、医薬品やサプリメント以外に、例えば乾燥食品、電子部品、半田粉等のように、水分を極度に嫌うものを密封保存する場合にもあてはまる。
(3)食品と共に鉄系の脱酸素剤が包装された製品中に、金属等の異物が混入しているか否かの検査を行う場合に、該脱酸素剤中の鉄粉が金属探知機に反応し、簡便な検査を行うことができない。
(4)電子レンジ等のマイクロ波によって急加熱されて発火することがある。
75gの炭酸水素アンモニウムを、500mlの水に溶解した水溶液を調製した。この水溶液を攪拌しながら、0.1Mの硝酸セリウム水溶液500mlを滴下し逆中和した。生成した沈殿物をイオン交換水で2回洗浄してろ過し、炭酸セリウムを得た。
実施例1で得られた炭酸セリウムを原料として、これを大気下にて加熱処理(1400℃、1時間)して酸化セリウムを得た。この酸化セリウムを還元焼成(水素100%ガスで400SCCMフロー、1000℃、1時間)して、酸素欠陥を有する酸化セリウムを得た。得られた酸化セリウムを、実施例1と同様の袋状の収容体内に密閉収容した。
実施例及び比較例について、以下の方法で除湿試験を行った。ガスバリアフィルムからなる袋の内部にゴム板を貼り付けた。このゴム板に、湿度温度指示計(Visala社のHMI41)のプローブを取り付け固定した。袋内に実施例及び比較例の試料を入れ、袋を密閉した。密閉した袋内を真空吸引した。次いで、恒温・恒湿槽によって25℃、60%RHに調整された空気300mlを該恒温・恒湿槽からシリンジで取り出し、これを前記の袋内に注入した。そして、袋内の湿度の変化を湿度温度指示計によって測定した。24時間経過後の袋内の湿度の測定結果を図5に示す。図5に示す結果から明らかなように、実施例のサンプルでは袋内の湿度が大きく低下しているのに対し、比較例のサンプルでは湿度の低下の程度が小さいことが判る。
実施例及び比較例のサンプルを、25℃、90%RHの環境下に3時間放置した。その後、前記の評価1と同様の評価を行った。その結果を図6に示す。なお図6には、図5に示す結果も併せて示されている。図6に示す結果から明らかなように、実施例のサンプルでは、高湿度環境下に放置した後の除湿性能の低下が小さいのに対して、比較例のサンプルでは高湿度環境下に放置した後の除湿性能の低下が大きいことが判る。
実施例1及び比較例1のサンプルについて、酸素吸収性能を評価した。その結果を図7に示す。比較例1のサンプルでは10時間を経過するあたりで酸素の吸収が飽和状態となった。酸素吸収量は25ml/gであった。これに対し、実施例1のサンプルでは、10時間を経過してもまだ酸素吸収能力の向上が認められ、約20時間経過したあたりで飽和状態となった。酸素吸収量は32ml/gであった。
Claims (8)
- 酸素欠陥を有する酸化セリウム及び除湿剤を含んで構成されており、酸素欠陥を有する該酸化セリウムが、CeO 2-x (xは0.5以上1未満)で表される蛍石類似構造の超格子構造を有していることを特徴とする除湿・脱酸素剤。
- 酸素欠陥を有する酸化セリウムに、該酸化セリウムの酸素吸収量を増大させる元素が添加されている請求の範囲第1項記載の除湿・脱酸素剤。
- 請求の範囲第1項記載の除湿・脱酸素剤を用い、雰囲気中の酸素を吸収除去すると共に雰囲気中の水分を吸収することを特徴とする除湿・脱酸素方法。
- 請求の範囲第1項記載の除湿・脱酸素剤が、ガス易透過性を有する袋状の包装体内に密封収容されてなる除湿・脱酸素体。
- 請求の範囲第1項記載の除湿・脱酸素剤と、ガス易透過性を有する樹脂とを含む除湿・脱酸素樹脂組成物。
- ペレット状、フィルム状、又はトレー状の形状を有する請求の範囲第5項記載の除湿・脱酸素樹脂組成物。
- 請求の範囲第6項に記載の除湿・脱酸素樹脂組成物からなる除湿・脱酸素層の一面に、ガスバリア性を有するガスバリア層が積層され、また該除湿・脱酸素層の他面に、ガス易透過性を有するガス易透過層が積層されてなる除湿・脱酸素積層体フィルム。
- 除湿・脱酸素層とガスバリア層との間に、物理的衝撃に対する緩衝作用を有する緩衝層が更に積層されていると共に、ガスバリア層の外側に、該ガスバリア層に比べて酸素及び水分の透過を遮断する能力が一層高い高度ガスバリア層が更に積層されている請求の範囲第7項記載の除湿・脱酸素積層体フィルム。
