Description

The present invention relates to a film thickness measuring device and a film thickness measuring method for measuring the film thickness of an oil film of lubricating oil formed between a cylinder liner and a piston ring.

Conventionally, various film thickness measuring devices that measure the film thickness of an oil film during operation inside an engine cylinder are known (see, for example, Patent Document 1). Some of these film thickness measuring devices measure the dielectric constant of the lubricating oil in advance and measure the film thickness based on this dielectric constant. For example, as shown in FIG. 6, the dielectric constant of the lubricating oil is measured in advance by a device in which a capacitance measuring instrument 100 and a dielectric constant measurement electrode 101 are connected via a cable 102. In other words, the capacitance measuring device 100 determines the ratio of the lubricating oil from the ratio of the capacitance in the empty state where the electrode 101 is not filled with lubricating oil and the capacitance in the state where the electrode 101 is filled with lubricating oil. Calculate the dielectric constant. The capacitance measuring device 100 calculates the dielectric constant of the lubricating oil by multiplying the relative dielectric constant of the lubricating oil by the dielectric constant of the vacuum.
Thereby, the dielectric constant of the lubricating oil before being supplied to the cylinder liner is measured in advance, and the film thickness of the lubricating oil film formed between the cylinder liner and the piston ring is measured using this dielectric constant. The

However, in the film thickness measuring apparatus as described above, whenever the type of lubricating oil supplied to the cylinder liner changes, it is necessary to re-measure the dielectric constant and manually input it to the film thickness measuring apparatus. There is a problem that the oil change work burden increases. Also, since the dielectric constant of lubricant changes over time, even if the same lubricant is used continuously, it cannot respond to changes in dielectric constant due to aging, and the film thickness must be measured accurately. There is a problem that can not be.

The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and even when the oil type is changed, not only can the film thickness be measured quickly and easily, but also a highly accurate measurement over a long period of time.
(Embodiment 1)
Hereinafter, a film thickness measuring device and a film thickness measuring method according to a first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 shows a film thickness measuring apparatus as a first embodiment of the present invention.
First, the engine cylinder S1 in which the film thickness that is the measurement target of the film thickness measuring apparatus 1 is formed will be described.
The engine cylinder S1 includes a cylinder liner SL that extends in a cylindrical shape, and a columnar piston P that is supported so as to reciprocate within the cylinder liner SL.

On the outer periphery of the piston P, a piston ring PR protruding outward in the radial direction of the piston P is provided over the entire periphery of the piston P. Plural piston rings PR are provided at predetermined intervals in the reciprocating direction M of the piston P.
One end of a rod R extending in a rod shape is connected to the bottom surface of the piston P. The other end of the rod R is rotatably connected to one end of the crankshaft K. The other end of the crankshaft K is supported so as to be rotatable about the rotation center E.
Thereby, the piston P receives the pressure due to the combustion of the fuel, and the rod R swings and the crankshaft K rotates around the rotation center E, so that the piston P reciprocates in the reciprocating direction M. .

Next, the film thickness measuring apparatus 1 according to the present invention will be described.
The film thickness measuring device 1 measures the film thickness L of the oil film formed between the outer peripheral surface PR1 of the piston ring PR and the inner peripheral surface SL1 of the cylinder liner SL.
The film thickness measuring device 1 measures the dielectric constant of the lubricating oil supplied into the engine cylinder S1 through the lubricating oil supply part 2 and the lubricating oil supply part 2 that supplies the lubricating oil into the engine cylinder S1. And a dielectric constant measuring unit 3. Further, the film thickness measuring device 1 includes a capacitance measuring unit 5 that measures the capacitance between the outer peripheral surface PR1 of the piston ring PR and the inner peripheral surface SL1 of the cylinder liner SL, and the rotation center of the crankshaft K. And an encoder (crank rotation angle detector) 6 that detects a rotation angle centered on E. Furthermore, the film thickness measuring apparatus 1 includes a signal processing unit (film thickness calculating unit) 4 connected to a dielectric constant measuring unit 3, a capacitance measuring unit 5, and an encoder 6.

The lubricating oil supply unit 2 includes an oiling device 2b for discharging the lubricating oil, and a pipe 2a connected to the oiling device 2b. When the lubricating oil is discharged from the lubricator 2b, the lubricating oil is supplied into the engine cylinder S1 through the pipe 2a. The lubricating oil supplied into the engine cylinder S1 is returned to the lubricator 2b through a discharge hole (not shown).
As shown in FIG. 2, the dielectric constant measurement unit 3 includes a pair of plate-like electrodes 3a installed in the pipe 2a, and a dielectric constant measurement device (dielectric constant calculation) connected to the electrodes 3a via a cable 3c. Part) 3b.
Then, the dielectric constant measuring device 3b calculates the dielectric constant of the lubricating oil based on the capacitance of the electrode 3a, and outputs a dielectric constant signal indicating the dielectric constant to the signal processing unit 4. The calculation of the dielectric constant will be described later.

Further, as shown in FIG. 1, the capacitance measuring unit 5 includes a capacitance sensor 5a disposed flush with the inner peripheral surface SL1 of the cylinder liner SL, and a signal connected to the capacitance sensor 5a. The conversion part 5b is provided.
The capacitance sensor 5a includes a sensor electrode (not shown) to which a constant current is supplied, and a grounding part (not shown) connected to the ground of the dielectric constant measuring device 3b. Then, when the piston ring PR and the capacitance sensor 5a face each other in the direction orthogonal to the reciprocating direction M, the capacitance sensor 5a is a measuring capacitor using the piston ring PR as a counter electrode and lubricating oil as a dielectric. Function as. Furthermore, the capacitance sensor 5a detects the capacitance of the measurement capacitor based on the time change of the charging voltage of the measurement capacitor charged by the constant current supplied through the sensor electrode, and the capacitance is detected. The current signal shown is output to the signal converter 5b.
The signal conversion unit 5 b converts the current signal output from the capacitance sensor 5 a into a voltage signal and outputs the voltage signal to the signal processing unit 4.

The encoder 6 detects a rotation angle when the crankshaft K rotates about the rotation center E, and outputs a rotation angle signal indicating the rotation angle to the signal processing unit 4. The rotation angle of the crankshaft K corresponds to the position of the piston ring PR relative to the cylinder liner SL in the reciprocating direction M. Therefore, the position of the piston ring PR in the reciprocating direction M is detected by detecting the rotation angle of the crankshaft K.

The signal processing unit 4 includes a dielectric constant signal output from the dielectric constant measuring device 3b, a voltage signal output from the signal conversion unit 5b (indicating the capacitance of the measurement capacitor), and a rotation angle output from the encoder 6. Based on the signal, the film thickness L of the oil film formed between the outer peripheral surface PR1 of the piston ring PR and the inner peripheral surface SL1 of the cylinder liner SL is calculated. The calculation of the film thickness L will be described later.

C=ε・S/d
Next, the operation of the film thickness measuring apparatus 1 in the present embodiment configured as described above will be described.
The engine cylinder S1 repeats an explosion stroke, an exhaust stroke, an intake stroke, and a compression stroke at a predetermined cycle, and the piston P reciprocates in the cylinder liner SL. Then, when the outer peripheral surface PR1 of the piston ring PR and the capacitance sensor 5a face each other, a measurement capacitor using an oil film formed between the outer peripheral surface PR1 and the capacitance sensor 5a as a dielectric is configured. Become.
The capacitance C of the capacitor is expressed by the following formula.
C = ε · S / d
Here, ε represents a dielectric constant, S represents an electrode area, and d represents a distance between electrodes.
Therefore, if the electrode area is known, the oil film is detected via the inter-electrode distance d by detecting the capacitance C X between the outer peripheral surface PR1 and the capacitance sensor 5a and the dielectric constant of the lubricating oil. The film thickness L can be obtained.

Conventionally, the film thickness L is calculated by measuring the dielectric constant of the lubricating oil in advance.
Here, as shown in FIG. 3, the dielectric constant of the lubricating oil differs depending on the type. For example, when the dielectric constants of the lubricating oil A, the lubricating oil B, and the lubricating oil C are compared, the dielectric constant increases in the order of the lubricating oil B, the lubricating oil C, and the lubricating oil A.
Further, even with the same lubricating oil, as shown in FIG. 4, the dielectric constant changes over time due to deterioration, contamination with foreign matter, and the like.

In the film thickness measuring apparatus 1 in the present embodiment, the film thickness L is measured as follows.
First, the dielectric constant measuring unit 3 measures the capacitance C 0 between the electrodes 3a in an empty state where no lubricating oil is put into the pipe 2a. In this case, since the lubricating oil is not disposed on the electrode 3a, the dielectric is air. The electrostatic capacitance C 0 is intended to be measured in advance. However, since the dielectric is air, once the capacitance C 0 is measured and input as a constant, the capacitance C 0 can be used in a fixed manner.

ε=C/C・・・(1)
Then, in a state where the previously stored capacitance C 0, and discharge the lubricating oil from the oil feeder 2b, supplies lubricating oil to the engine cylinders S1 through the pipe 2a. Furthermore, the piston P reciprocates by driving the engine cylinder S1.
At this time, since the lubricating oil is filled in the pipe 2a, the lubricating oil is disposed between the electrodes 3a. Therefore, the capacitance C between the electrodes 3a filled with the lubricating oil is measured. The dielectric at this time becomes lubricating oil.
Furthermore, the dielectric constant measuring device 3b calculates the relative dielectric constant ε r of the lubricating oil from the electrostatic capacitances C 0 and C based on the following formula.
ε r = C / C 0 (1)

C=εεS/d・・・(3)
Here, the capacitance C 0 is expressed by the following equation.
C 0 = ε 0 S / d (2)
Here, ε 0 is the dielectric constant of vacuum, S is the electrode area, and d is the distance between the electrodes.
Further, the capacitance C is expressed by the following equation.
C = ε r ε 0 S / d (3)
Therefore, from the above equations (2) and (3), the relative dielectric constant ε r of the lubricating oil is expressed by the above equation (1).
Furthermore, the dielectric constant measuring device 3b calculates the dielectric constant ε of the lubricating oil in real time by multiplying the relative dielectric constant ε r of the lubricating oil by the dielectric constant ε 0 of the vacuum, and the signal processing unit 4 as a dielectric constant signal. (Dielectric constant measurement step).

Furthermore, when the outer peripheral surface PR1 of the piston ring PR and the electrostatic capacitance sensor 5a are arranged to face each other during the reciprocating movement of the piston P, a measurement capacitor is configured by them. At that time, the capacitance sensor 5a detects the capacitance of the measurement capacitor based on the time change of the charging voltage of the measurement capacitor. That is, the capacitance sensor 5a detects the capacitance CX of the measurement capacitor from the charging time until the charging voltage rises to a predetermined voltage value, and outputs a current signal indicating the capacitance CX as a signal. It outputs to the conversion part 5b. The capacitance C X decreases as the distance between the outer peripheral surface PR1 and the capacitance sensor 5a, that is, the film thickness L increases, and the value of the current signal also decreases.
The signal conversion unit 5 b converts the received current signal into a voltage signal and outputs the voltage signal to the signal processing unit 4.

Here, in the reciprocating motion of the piston P, even when the outer peripheral surface PR1 and the capacitance sensor 5a are not arranged to face each other, the capacitance sensor 5a outputs a slight current signal. When the outer peripheral surface PR1 and the capacitance sensor 5a are arranged to face each other, the largest current signal is output.
Whether or not the piston P is disposed at a position where the outer peripheral surface PR1 and the capacitance sensor 5a face each other is determined in advance by the rotation angle of the crankshaft K. That is, the position of the piston ring PR and the rotation angle of the crankshaft K when the outer peripheral surface PR1 of one piston ring PR and the capacitance sensor 5a face each other have a one-to-one correspondence.
Therefore, if the rotation angle when the outer peripheral surface PR1 and the capacitance sensor 5a face each other is known in advance, the current signal of the signal conversion unit 5b at the rotation angle is read to obtain the outer peripheral surface PR1 and the capacitance sensor. Capacitance CX between 5a can be calculated.

Therefore, the signal processing unit 4 reads the rotation angle signal output from the encoder 6 and determines whether or not the rotation angle of the crankshaft K indicated by the rotation angle signal matches the rotation angle stored in advance. judge. If the signal processing unit 4 determines that the rotation angles do not match, the signal processing unit 4 reads the rotation angle signal of the encoder 6 again and repeats the process. On the other hand, when the signal processing unit 4 determines that the rotation angles are the same, the signal processing unit 4 reads the voltage signal of the signal conversion unit 5b and calculates the capacitance CX (capacitance measurement step). The capacitance C X at this time is the capacitance of the measurement capacitor when the outer peripheral surface PR1 and the capacitance sensor 5a face each other.
Further, the signal processing unit 4 calculates the film thickness L via the distance between the electrodes of the measurement capacitor based on the calculated capacitance C X , dielectric constant ε, and the electrode area S stored in advance ( (Film thickness calculation step), which is displayed on a display unit (not shown).

As described above, according to the film thickness measuring device 1 in the present embodiment, the dielectric constant of the lubricating oil passing through the pipe 2a is obtained in real time, and the film thickness L is calculated based on this dielectric constant, so the oil type is changed. However, the film thickness L can be measured quickly and easily in accordance with the change in the dielectric constant. Furthermore, even if the dielectric constant changes due to aging, the dielectric constant of the lubricating oil supplied to the engine cylinder S1 is obtained in real time, and therefore high-precision measurement can be performed over a long period according to the changing dielectric constant. .
Further, since the paired electrode 3a provided in the pipe 2a and the dielectric constant measuring device 3b are provided, the dielectric constant of the lubricating oil passing through the pipe 2a can be measured with high accuracy.
Further, since the signal processing unit 4 calculates the film thickness L based on the rotation angle of the crankshaft K detected by the encoder 6, the outer peripheral surface PR1 of the piston ring PR and the capacitance sensor 5a face each other. it can be measured in the capacitance C X with high accuracy.
